Verb to be Verb to be มหี ลกั การใช้ ดงั นีค้ ่ะ 1. ถา้ เป็นกริยาสาคญั ในประโยค มีความหมายวา่ เป็น อยู่ คือ 2. ใชว้ างขา้ งหนา้ กลุ่มคา adjective ( คาคุณศพั ท์ ) 3. ใชเ้ ป็นกริยาช่วยในโครงสร้างของประโยค Continuous (ประโยค ท่ีมี กริยา - ing ) 4. ใชเ้ ป็นกริยาช่วยในโครงสร้างของประโยค Passive Voice ( ประโยคท่ีประธานเป็นผถู้ ูกกระทา ) 1

หลกั การใช้กบั ประธานในประโยค 1. ถา้ ประธานท่ีเป็นเอกพจน์บุรุษที่ 3 ซ่ึงไดแ้ ก่ He She It หรือ ชื่อคนคนเดียว สตั วต์ วั เดียว และสิ่งของอนั เดียวท่ีถูก กล่าวถึง Verb to be ท่ีใช้ คือ is เช่น Jeab is a teacher. Bird is a singer. She is in the room. My father is sleeping. 2. ถา้ ประธานเป็นเอกพจน์บุรุษที่ 1 ( ผพู้ ดู คนเดียว ) ไดแ้ ก่ I ส่วน Verb to be ที่ใช้ คือ am I am a student. I am under the table. 2

3. ประธานเป็นพหูพจน์ทุกบุรุษ ซ่ึงไดแ้ ก่ We You They หรือชื่อคนหลายคนสัตวห์ ลายตวั และส่ิงของหลายอนั ท่ีถกู กล่าวถึง Verb to be ท่ีใช้ คือ are เช่น We are nurses. My father and I are in the room. They are policemen. You are very good. The players are in the playground. Suda and her friends are under the tree. 3

การสร้างประโยคทมี่ ี Verb to be ให้เป็ นประโยคปฏิเสธ มี วธิ ีการดงั นี้ เติม not ลงไปในตาแหน่งที่เรียงต่อจาก Verb to be หลงั is am are เช่น He is not in the room. I am not a child. They are not teachers. Suda is not reading. หมายเหตุ รูปยอ่ ของ ปฏิเสธ Verb to be คือ is not ยอ่ เป็น isn’t am not จะไม่ใชร้ ูปยอ่ are not ยอ่ เป็น aren’t 6

Practice 2 จงเปลี่ยนประโยคต่อไปน้ีใหเ้ ป็นประโยคปฏิเสธ ตวั อย่าง We are nurses. - We are not nurses. / We aren’t nurses. 1. I am a good person. 2. They are playing football. 3. He and his friends are soldiers. 4. Sam is a singer. 5. A pencil is on the desk. 7

การทาประโยคทีม่ ี Verb to be ให้เป็ นประโยคคาถาม Yes/No Question มหี ลกั การ ดงั นีค้ ่ะ เอา Verb to be มาวางหนา้ ประโยค และเอา ประธานของประโยคมาวางเรียงต่อจากVerb to be หลงั จบประโยค ตอ้ งใส่เครื่องหมายคาถาม เช่น  He is in the room. เปลี่ยนเป็น Is he in the room ?  They are soldiers เปลี่ยนเป็น Are they soldiers?  I am a boy. เปลี่ยนเป็น Am I a boy ? Do you remember ? 8
