OPENING ASSEMBLY \"~earch for the Husk1e\" was the main ol>JeCtlve m the Openmg Assembly which mcluded songs, dances, and excited anticipation about this year's events. \\X'h1le teachers were rna ·querading as ~laves, cheerleaders and songleaders combed the audience in qu~.:st of a Husky to assure that a \"Year of Conquest\" would follow. The worthy Husky was found and the prediction fulfilled. All hail Tom currier as the newly-found Great Huskie chosen FISHER BODY to mark the beginning of the \"Year of Conquest.\" Students received an informative and interesting Glen Moore, a representative from the Craftsman's Guild, demonstrates assembly when the Fisher Body Craftsmen's the methods and techniques involved in the designing of an automobile. Guild presented a program that displayed many new techniques in automobile construction and driving safety. Through demonstration and a film, the numerous possibilities in the field of automo- bile design and manufacturing were pre ented. Royce Gardner tests the amount of tension that can be put on a newly-devised afety glass. 160
