So, 5 – 3 = 2. c) 9 – 7 Open 9 fingers on the two hands. Close 7 fingers. Count the open fingers. So, 9 – 7 = 2. Subtraction using the number line A line marked with numbers is called a number line. We can use the number line to subtract numbers. Let us see an example.
