Concept 6.2: Factors and Multiples I Think Pooja learnt to find factors of a given number using multiplication and division. She wants to know the name given to the product obtained when we multiply numbers by counting. Sieve of Eratosthenes Eratosthenes was a Greek mathematician. He created the sieve of Eratosthenes, to find prime numbers between any two given numbers. Steps to find prime numbers between 1 and 100 using the sieve of Eratosthenes: Step 1: Prepare a grid of numbers from 1 to 100. Step 2: Cross out 1 as it is neither prime nor composite. Step 3: Circle 2 as it is the first prime number. Then cross out all the multiples of 2. Step 4: Circle 3 as it is the next prime number. Then cross out all the multiples of 3.
