TWO BIRDS There was a peacock who often boasted about beauty every day. He walked to banks of a large lake and looked at his on reflections and said “ Oh ! what a beautiful bird I am . Look at my colourful tail. Once the peacock saw crane on the bank of the lake. He said with a sneer to the crane, “ what a colorless bird you are! You had no beautiful and colourful bird feathers like mine. The crane replied, “Of course! I do not have beautiful fathers but my feathers can make me fly across the lake. Can your feather make you fly?”. There was no reply from peacock Story By Parvathy S Prasanth 10

The Beautiful Peacock - Princess Once there was a beautiful peacock who lived in a beautiful place . The peacock was very pretty but she as actually a princess who was the ruler of the land. How she wished to go back to her home. But she could not because an evil witch took form of her and ruled the land . The only way to break the spell was to break her wand. She couldn’t do it because the witch had put a shield spell over her. One day an enchanted prince saw her singing a sad song and he wondered how a peacock could sing so beautifully. So he took form of peacock and went up to her. He asked her ‘’Dear peacock how can you sing so beautifully’’ I am the princess of this land. Who are you?? Asked the princess the prince turned back to his human form. I am the prince of the neighboring kingdom dear princess how did you turn into this form. It is indeed an honor meeting you. An evil witch has turned me into this for I would have tried but I cannot because the witch has put a shield spell on me replied the princess. Is there any way that I can save you asked the prince. There is only one way you have to break the witches wand replied the princess. I will save you dear princess said the prince and rode on his horse. The witch must be very careful on taking her wand so let me trick her thought the prince. So he went to the witch next day and asked her to dance with him. The witch had no choice for the princess loved dancing. So while they were dancing the prince slowly took the wand and kept it in his pocket. And then suddenly the prince took the wand and broke it into two pieces. Suddenly the witch turned into dust. And the princess appeared in her true form she thanked the prince and took her place as princess. She and the prince were best friends forever. Story By Gauri M Pai 13
STOP DISCRIMINATION One who cares is woman; One who loves is woman; one who is affectionate is women; The image of anxiety is women; The image of responsibility is women The image of emotion is women. One who smiles in agony is woman; One who subdues her own pain is woman ; One who is full of life is woman. The image of patience is women. The image of peace is woman. One who is hardworking is women; One who builds up a society is women; BUT…. One who is subordinate to man is women; One who is thrown into fire for dowry is women; But because of her qualities still she is something special; So stop discrimination against the women and let her come up to a level. GRAMMER MYTH THAT HAVE LIED Myth -1 Never start a sentence with “and”, “but”or “so” There is a widespread belief-one with no historical or geometrical foundation that it is an error to begin a sentence „with a conjunction such as‟ and‟,‟ but „,or „so „they write. In fact a substancial percentage of the sentences in first –rate counting begin with conjections .Even the most grammarians have followed .There are more facts we have always believed that are actually false. Myth-2 Never start a sentence with “because “ Starting a sentence with the word” because”can often lead to a sentence fragment .As long as your sentence has at least one independent clause, youre good to go. Correct: I couldn't see my dad because I missed the bus. Incorrect: I couldn't see my dad. Because I missed the bus. Dilna P S ClasS 6 c 21

MY LOCKDOWN DAYS Dear Teacher and my dear friends, Hope you are all safe. My lockdown days are a mixture of concern and happiness. Infact, it started in the third week of march and is going to complete 4 months now. This is the biggest crisis in the world due to a small virus called corona or covid 19.Lakhs of people are affected and thousands died. The virus is in our door step. Even I am wearing mask N using sanitizer while playing in my backyard. There is always a fear when I touch on anything. Hope this pandemic will vanish soon and I am really concerned about it. About my happiness, this is first time that I got full time with parents, grand parents and little sister. I am getting time for open communication, sharing joke, playing games with my sister and sometimes with my parents. My grand parents shared lot of stories of god, animals and planet. It really motivates me. Online classes in google meet and google classroom is giving new experience. For 3'o clock classes, i am getting ready, arranging my tab, checking internet & sound is quite fun and normal now. I think, it will become part of our life. Anyway, lock down gives mixed feelings but I am optimistic and hopeful that we will come back to normalcy soon. Take care BY VARADA AJITH CLASS 6C 23
