33 Instructor Biographies PATRICIA (PATTY) FLOWERS Patty is Assistant Vice President, New England Business Development for Investment Property Exchange Services, Inc. Patty is not only a frequent lecturer on I. R. C. 1031 exchanges but she also has authored numerous articles on tax deferred exchanges. Investment Property Exchanges Services, Inc. provides investors with Qualified Intermediary Services for Tax Deferred Exchanges through I. R. C. 1031. PETER DROUGASPeter got into the inspection business at the suggestion of a few Realtors© he was doinghouse repairs for. After pointing out other things that needed to be done to the house, theythought he would be a great Inspector. He started in 1999 part-time, working for a fran-chised Home Inspection company, and then went full-time after one year. When the ownerof that franchise sadly passed away after he was with them three years, Peter started his owncompany in 2003. Business increased every year, so in 2013 he hired someone to work inthe office and in 2015 he hired a part-time Home Inspector to work with him, who hassince gone full time and is now doing inspections on his own. RICHARD REIBSTEINRick has worked for the Massachusetts Executive Office of Environmental Affairs and the Massa-chusetts Department of Environmental Protection, and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agen-cy. He teaches environmental law and policy and is the founder of the Regulated Community Com-pliance Project at Boston University. He has lectured on environmental law and policy in the Unit-ed States, Chile, Brazil, the Philippines and the Baltic States. WALTER BOOMSMAPrior to obtaining his real estate license Walter owned and operated a human resource consultingbusiness working with organizations nation-wide to implement systems and practices designed tosupport learning and encourage excellence. For over twenty years he developed and delivered train-ing programs and was a featured keynote speaker for numerous companies, associations, civic andeducational groups.
