On April 5, 1968, Nugent along with a group shows. of musicians paid tribute to Martin Luther King by having a folk, rock and blues jam session. Joni Mitchell played first, Ted Nugent has a new album due on November 9th followed by Buddy Guy, Cactus, and Jimi Hendrix. The following year, Tooth Hill, featuring his current rhythm section bassist Fang & Claw (which contained the song \"Great White Greg Smith and drummer Jason Hartless. The Cellar's \"house band\" at the time had been the Shadows of Knight, although the Amboy Dukes eventually became a staple until the c4lu|bP's aclgoseing. www.G-NoteEntertainment.biz

Personnel changes nearly wrecked the band, which became known as Ted Nugent & the Amboy Dukes. Nugent reunited with the other members of the Amboy Dukes at the 2009 Detroit Music Awards, which took place April 17, 2009. The psychedelic band received a distinguished achievement honor at the event. The Dukes also played together at the ceremony, marking their first public performance in more than 30 years. Nugent dropped the Amboy Dukes band name for good in 1975, and signed to Epic Records. Derek St. Holmes (guitar, vocals), Rob Grange (bass) and Clifford Davies (drums) were the primary additional band members for his 1970s multi- platinum[ albums: Ted Nugent (1975), Free-for-All (1976) and Cat Scratch Fever (1977). These albums produced the popular radio anthems \"Hey Baby\", \"Stranglehold\", \"Dog Eat Dog\", and \"Cat Scratch Fever\". It was during these three years that Nugent emerged as a guitar hero to hard rock fans, many of whom were unaware of his lengthy apprenticeship with the Amboy Dukes.[29] This band lineup toured extensively, also releasing the multi- platinum live album Double Live Gonzo! (1978), until its breakup in 1978 when St. Holmes and Grange departed. St. Holmes was replaced by Charlie Huhn and Grange by Dave Kiswiney. Davies left around 1982 after staying on to record Weekend Warriors (1978), State of Shock (1979), Scream Dream (1980) and Intensities in 10 Cities (1981). The \"Intensities in 10 Cities\" album includes the controversial song \"Jailbait.\" On July 8, 1979, Ted was on the rock radio program King Biscuit Flower Hour. This was the original broadcast of Ted's performance of Live at Hammersmith '79 which had been recorded during the second set of a night at London's Hammersmith Odeon in 1979. An album of this program was released in 1997. During the period of 1982–89, Nugent released a series of successful solo albums. In 1989, he joined the supergroup Damn Yankees, with Jack Blades (bass/vocals, of Night Ranger), Tommy Shaw (guitar/vocals, of Styx) and Michael Cartellone (drums). Damn Yankees (1990) was a hit, going double platinum in the U.S., thanks to the hit power ballad \"High Enough\". Returning to a solo career, Nugent released Spirit of the Wild in 1995, his best-reviewed album in quite some time. The album also marked the return of Derek St. Holmes to Nugent's studio band. A series of archival releases also came out in the 1990s, keeping Nugent's name in the national consciousness. He also began hosting a radio show in Detroit on WWBR-FM (\"102.7 The Bear, Detroit's Rock Animal\") and took ownership in several hunting-related businesses. He created TV shows for several networks; Wanted: Ted or Alive on Versus, Ted Nugent Spirit of the Wild on PBS and The Outdoor Channel, as well as Surviving Nugent and Supergroup-Damnocracy on VH1. In 2006, Ted Nugent was voted into the Michigan Rock and Roll Legends Hall of Fame. On July 4, 2008, at the DTE Energy Music Theater in Clarkston, Michigan, Ted Nugent played his 6,000th concert. Derek St. Holmes (original singer for the Ted Nugent band), Johnny Bee Badanjek (drummer for Mitch Ryder and The Detroit Wheels), and Nugent's guitar teacher from 1958, Joe Podorsek, all jammed on stage with Nugent for various songs. On March 14, 2011, Nugent released a new song, \"I Still Believe\", as a free download via his website to subscribers to his newsletter. Nugent says of the song: \"America is a target-rich environment for an independent man addicted to logic, truth and The American Way. 'I Still Believe' throttles the animal spirit of rugged individualism in pure MotorCity ultra high-energy rhythm and blues and rock and roll.\" In April 2011 Nugent announced that former frontman Derek St. Holmes would be joining his band for Nugent's I Still Believe Tour. Nugent starred in his own outdoors television show, named after his popular song \"Spirit of the Wild\". The song was the theme music to the TV series, in which Nugent took viewers on a variety of wild game hunts using his bow. In the series, he taught and advised hunters and \"hands-on\" conservationists around the world on the different aspects of hunting and politics. 5|Page @GNoteEntertainmentMagazine www.G-NoteEntertainment.biz

In 1986, he guest starred in an episode of the hit television show Miami Vice entitled \"Definitely Miami\". Nugent played a villain. His song \"Angry Young Man\" was featured in the episode. His song \"Little Miss Dangerous\" was also featured on a Miami Vice episode of the same name, although he did not appear in the episode. In 2001, Nugent appeared as himself in a third-season episode of That '70s Show entitled \"Backstage Pass\". Donna Pinciotti (Laura Prepon), who works for radio station WFPP, obtains tickets to the upcoming Ted Nugent concert for the entire gang. Following the concert, her boss Max (Howard Hesseman) gives Donna a backstage pass to meet Nugent, where he volunteers to sit for an interview. Meanwhile, Steven Hyde (Danny Masterson) and Fez (Wilmer Valderrama) try to sell unauthorized concert t-shirts accidentally spelled Tad Nugent. Nugent suffers from hearing loss. He said in a 2007 interview: \"The ear's not too good, especially with background noise, but that's a small price to pay. Believe me the journey was worth it. * Some content taken from Wikipedia Alright, are you ready? Here we go! “Well listen everybody to what I got to say there's hope for tomorrow if we wake up today. It happened long time ago in the new magic land, the Indian and the buffalo existed hand in hand.” “The Indian needed food and skins for a roof, but they only took what they needed, millions of buffalo were the proof. Then came the white man with his thick and empty head. “ “He couldn't see past his billfold; he wanted all the buffalo dead. So, the Indians hid in fear, there were no buffalo to be found. The magic was missing, it looked like some kind of a burial ground. It was sad, so sad. But above the canyon walls, strong eyes did glow, it was the leader of the land, The Great White Buffalo!” “And he found the battered herd, and he led them across the land, with the Great White Buffalo we can make a final stand. So, listen everybody to what I got to say, there's hope for tomorrow if we wake up today. With the Great White Buffalo! “ ‘The Great White Buffalo’ by Ted Nugent MagicLand Music 1971 The lyrics at the beginning of this NugeBlog “flowed like a spiritual vision, a graphic dream, an honest to God real life experience, as if I was there, ultra-alive on the prairies and plains of Manifestation Destiny galloping alongside Cochise and my Blood Brothers, bow in hand, heeling my trusty painted steed straight into the stampeding herd of nostril flaring, wild eyed bison.” “The original recording of this incredible song/vision was captured take one on our Tooth, Fang and Claw album and has remained to this day one of my most popular and most requested songs ever.” “Amazingly, I had never read anything about the Native American legend of the great white buffalo, but according to the many tribes I have worked and hunted with all these years, the song nails precisely the legend of hope of my Native American Blood Brothers, and I believe all of mankind.” “Having recorded something like 30 albums and authored somewhere around 100 songs, I am convinced that the music flows organically from deep inside me as a direct result of my outdoor lifestyle.” At the tender age of 70, fueled by The Great Spirit of the Wild and a lifetime of sacred, hard earned backs traps, Ted says, “I am here to tell you that our precious, perfect hunting lifestyle provides us with much more than just sport, recreation, trophies and meat.” “The ultimate gift I received from God is the good sense to intelligently prioritize meaningful balance in my life, and there is no more defining balance than the hyper outrage of my kind of rock-n-roll soul music and the phenomenal peace and quiet of my bow hunting life.” “I give6 y|oPuadgeeer, backs traps, sunrises, weather, the rut, the mystical flight of the arrow and life itself.” www.G-NoteEntertainment.biz @GNoteEntertainmentMagazine

“Most importantly it has always been my fascination with and craving for all things wild that forced me to remain clean and sober my entire life, knowing conclusively that a substance abused reduced level of awareness will surely ruin any attempt to get close to and to kill a critter.” G-Note- What is your process in preparing for an album release and tour? TN – “In the studio that day way back in 1971, while tuning up my Gibson Byrdland guitar to record a prepared song, as always, I spontaneously slammed out this killer lick and the band asked what it was. Having never before unleashed this particular guitar pattern, I agreed it was very cool.” “I told the guys to follow my direction as we recorded the lick for future reference, and we commenced to jam it out with me giving head and hand signals and yelling out chord changes and stops and starts.” “I went to the mic and began singing words I had never sang before or had even thought about ever before. I had no idea what I would title the song or what subject matter it would deal with, but because of the intensity and drive of the guitar, bass and drum throttle, the words and vision had a life of their own.” “Forever during our annual pre-tour rehearsals, my amazing band and I are daily jamming our hearts out on a set list of killer songs. In between jam sessions we shoot guns, bows and arrows and chow down around a campfire on venison rocket fuel for the mind, body and soul.” “No wonder our music and concerts are the best there is. “ G-Note -What can your fans expect from ‘The Music Made Me Do It Again’ tour? TN- “Outrageous fun, ferocious soulful R&B Rock-N-Roll mayhem from the greatest, tightest, highest energy band left in the world! With Greg Smith on bass and Detroit killer Jason Hartless on thunder drums, my music is the best damn music there is. Anyone not having fun with us is weird.” “Being one with my guitar, one with my band, one with my music and one with The Great Spirit is an inseparable parallel to being one with the earth and her creatures that defines the pureness of the natural hunting lifestyle.” “Every song I have ever created, every recording I have ever performed, came about following a very recent, natural outdoor high. Stream of consciousness. Out of body. Pure instinct. Soul cleansed eruption. Knee-jerk, mind-jerk, soul- jerk, spirit-jerk, body-jerk. Mind over matter. Baggage free. Stress less. Born to be wild. Running wild and free.” “I believe with all my heart and soul that the above paragraph, as well as the opening paragraph of this here little deeranddeerhunting.com NUGEBLOG#140 represents a darn good overview guiding force for ultimate quality of life. That’s what I believe.” “And when one of God’s miraculous creatures created in His own image and likeness gets to the core of it all, us humans can pull off some pretty miraculous stuff of our own.” “As I gather my killer band and crew for our 2019 ‘The Music Made Me Do It Again’ tour across America, about to put fire breathing- rock out number 6,566 under my gun belt, I look to the heavens daily thanking The Great Creator for this amazing gift.” G-Note -How are you feeling since your move from your home in Jackson? Has the move to Texas helped you in your music and performing? Do you get a chance to get back here often? TN – “Tribe Nuge is healthy and happy, cocked, locked and more than ready to rock doc! I lived in my beloved birth state of Michigan until 2002 when my family moved to Texas due to health problems and the destruction of our Michigan home due to poison mold contamination.” 7|Page @GNoteEntertainmentMagazine www.G-NoteEntertainment.biz

” I still spend a lot of time each year in my beloved Michigan and Detroit. I will be forever be the Motor City Michiganiac Blood. Brother!” G-Note- What if anything has changed in your approach in your song writing and performing over the years? TN- “Nothing, for when a down to earth reasoning predator returns from the soul cleansing woods to the electricity of my Gibson Byrdland guitars and wall of amps, killer riffs and patterns erupt and thoroughly uninhibited stream of consciousness goes absolutely wild as a force to reckon with. I just hang on and let ‘er rip. Always have, always will.” “My music is so damn powerful it has a life of its own, so it really doesn't matter where me and my guitars party. Fiery all-American R&B rock-n-roll erupts unto itself on a daily basis. It's so much fun it’s stupid.” G-Note -Are there any musicians who you respect, even if you don’t agree with their politics? TN- “I genuflect at the altar of Keith Richards brilliant soulfulness and the guy is a walking, talking chemical lab. I admire many people for their contributions to society without prejudice or judgment. I just make it a point to not let their dangerous politics find their way into policy making.” G-Note -Is any chance we’ll see Ted Nugent run for political office? TN- “I currently perform the most important political duties an American has the responsibility to perform- I experiment in self-government on a daily basis, fulfilling my \"we the people\" duties to monitor and guide our elected employees to adhere to their oath to the US Constitution.” “I am sad to report that the criminal corruption and vulgar abuse of power running amok across the land is intolerable and must be fixed ASAP. If enough Americans determine I could do a better job in public office and Mrs. Nugent and my beloved family agree, there is no limit what I am willing to do for my country.” G-Note- You have been in the music business for a long time, for you, how has the music industry changed over the years? TN- “Music industry? Is there a music industry I am not aware of? I am heartbroken by the disincentive of the digital age and lack of fire breathing passionate musicians and music today.” “There are some genuinely phenomenal talents out there, but very little in the world of ass-kicking soulful guitar driven honest to God rock-n-roll. Thank God real music lovers still come get the real McCoy live.” Ted finished by saying “Brother, we are clean and sober, tuned in, passionate, prioritized, focused, soul cleansed, cocked, locked and ready to rock is the only way to go. I don’t care if you’re a teacher, a cop, a welder, a carpenter, a mechanic or a guitar player, I’m telling you this is the recipe for the ultimate American Dream. I supply the soundtrack!” “Hope to see my blackstrap Blood Brothers out there across America this summer for some ‘The Music Made Me Do It Again’ soul music outrage. The Great White Buffalo is coming to a town near you and he is ready to rock!” For all things Ted Nugent including tour dates please go to: www.tednugent.com 8|Page @GNoteEntertainmentMagazine www.G-NoteEntertainment.biz

80’s Rock Icon – GREG KIHN Encore Interview with G-Note Entertainment Magazine chatted with Greg Kihn 90’s Rock and MTV Icon, from his California home before hitting the road in support of his new album “ReKihndled.” Greg Kihn G-Note: Greg Kihn! Thanks for taking time out to talk with Our original interview with Greg Kihn was the us here at G-Note Entertainment Magazine! What’s been cover and featured in our December 2017 going on for the last 20 plus years with you? edition. GK-” Thank you sir, it is my pleasure to talk to you. Greg will be fondly remembered as an 80s-music icon (Chuckling) I get asked that question a lot, the truth is, we for his two catchy, chart-topping hits, “The Breakup just came out with our first studio album “ReKihndled” as in Song (They Don’t Write ‘Em) in 1981 and the 1983 I hope this 'reKihndles' my career! This is the first studio smash single, “Jeopardy,” which charted #2 on the album we have done in 20 years and I'm pretty proud of it.” Billboard Top 100. “Really, I haven't gone anywhere, I have been doing a radio First signed in 1973 to the now legendary record label, gig for 20 years, including a 18 plus year stint on radio at Beserkley Records, Greg was the focal point of a roster KFOX in San Francisco, and you know when you are the at that time that included Jonathan Richman, morning guy and you have to get up at 4:00am, you don't Earthquake and The Rubinoos…. artists who all have much of a life and you aren't going to do much other performed and recorded melodic pop with a strong 60s than that because you're too pooped to go ou9t|oPn a g e pop sensibility. www.G-NoteEntertainment.biz Greg’s groundbreaking video for “Jeopardy” became one of the first concept videos and was played extensively on MTV during the early days of the then fledging video channel. The Greg Kihn Band also spent much of the 80’s touring with the likes of Journey, The Rolling Stones and the Grateful Dead and appearing on popular TV shows including Solid Gold, American Bandstand and Saturday Night Live. He also carved out a very successful 16-year career as a top-rated DJ on KUFX in San Jose, California, rising from a late-night host to one of the top-rated morning jocks in his area in the nation’s fourth largest market before leaving the station in 2012. Greg is also an accomplished author, having written six well-received novels and numerous short stories, along with two screenplays. He and his band still tour extensively throughout North America. the weekends and play gigs with the exception of the once a year “Kihncert” that is played at the Shoreline Amphitheater every summer. Kihn continued on “You know when the radio station cut me loose a couple of years ago it like “Oh My God”, I now have my life back! It was liberating and now I have all this time so I can go back on the road. So, I “reKinndled” the band so to speak and I know have my son Ry Kihn on Lead guitar who by the way was taught by none other than Joe Satriani. Ry is a shredder in the first degree! We also have Robert Berry on Bass who also produces the record and owns the studio where we recorded it. Then we got Sammy Hagar's drummer Dave Lauser who after a conversation with Sammy after a gig, where I said to him man, do you know any drummers that would be available to go out on the road and Sammy says, why don't you take my guy because I'll be doing some other projects and he'll have some time off. So, go ahead and take him. So, we start rehearsing and this guy turns out to be Keith Moon! He is unbelievable! So hence, I back, I proud and I'm liberated and can't wait to back on the road with these guys!” G-Note: When people hear the new album what do they think of it? GK- “People tell me that this sounds like a Greg Kihn album, you know you wonder what we would sound like 20 years later, this it, this is what we would sound like! I gotta tell you, we had a lot of fun making this album! There a lot of first takes and it felt great every step of the way!” G-Note: I have to tell you, your song “Pink Flamingo's” is a little rockabilly ditty and I was pleasantly surprised by that. Not what one would expect from a Greg Kihn MTV song. GK- “I got to tell you man, that was the first song we recorded on the album and it may be my favorite. My son Ry came into the studio and we were talking. I said I want to write a song like “Oh Well” by Fleetwood Mac you know where they play, they stop and they sing and they play and he says oh, I know what you mean like Zeppelin's “Black Dog” and I said that is exactly what I meant.” “The next day, Ry comes into the studio and he starts playing the riff that would become “Pink Flamingo's.” I just loved it and out of the clear blue sky, I started singing big pink flamingos, I don't know where it came from it was like it is floating around in the air in front of me and I snatched it up and channeled it. We ended up writing it 15 minutes! You know it's a good song if you write it in 15 minutes!” G-Note: It looked like you had fun with the Pink Flamingo's video, in all your video's you appear to have a lot of fun! GK- “You know the “Break Up Song” was a hit before MTV back in '81 and music videos were just becoming part of the scene, and when “Jeopardy” came out in '83, it was MTV's first concept video so they played the heck out it, pretty much every hour and they liked it because it told a story.” “Here's a little back story for you, we did the “Jeopardy” video in a 48-hour shoot. Our producer Joe Day had procured this church that we were renting for the 48 hours. I gotta tell ya, I am going to Hell for what I did in that church after hours, I am sure I broke every law of God and man in that church, we were partying our asses off, we were out of control!” Kihn continued” When “Jeopardy” was a hit we were opening for Journey all over the land, places like Madison Square Garden and just everywhere and after it became number 1, then “Wierd Al” Yankovic comes out with this parody of “Jeopardy” and he has to go on the road to promote it and I have to say, I love all that mailbox money!” G-Note: Did you know when you recorded the “Break Up” song and “Jeopardy” that they were going to be as big as they were? 10 | P a g e @GNoteEntertainmentMagazine www.G-NoteEntertainment.biz

GK- “I kinda did. “The Break Up” song took a little time to grow and catch on and it still gets air play same with “Jeopardy” they get played all over the world which is great for me – more mail box money but “Jeopardy” again was just one of those songs that was right in front of me just swirling around and I snatched it up and we recorded it in like 10 minutes. I knew when we played a few gigs later that weekend when people were singing along without knowing the lyrics that I knew we had a hit!” G-Note: Is there anything you would like to share that we didn't cover? GK- “No man, it's been a blast and I appreciate your time and looking forward to seeing everyone on the road!” Go Buy “ReKihndled!” For all things Greg Kihn including information on his tour and his new album 'ReKihndled” check out: www.gregkihn.com and a link to Greg’s Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/gregkihn/ @GNoteEntertainmentMagazine 11 | P a g e www.G-NoteEntertainment.biz

G-Note Artist Spot Light: Sugaray Rayford G-Note Entertainment Magazine Artist Spotlight: Singer and Performer: SUGARAY RAYFORD Texas born Caron “Sugaray” Rayford began his musical career at the age of 7 singing & playing drums in church, and his gospel influence can be heard and felt in his music. Rayford's phrasing is intimate and conversational and the soulful gravel in his voice hints at his firsthand experience with hardship. On March 1st Forty Below Records released Somebody Save Me, the new studio album from Texas-born soul blues singer, Sugaray Rayford. On the album’s opening track, “The Revelator”, Rayford forcefully sings, “I’m a freak of nature / I ain’t no honey bee / I’m an unknown creature / The like you’ve never seen.” At 6’5” and 300 pounds, this cigar chompin’ ex-Marine with a voice like a force of nature holds court in any room he enters. Possessing a magnetic personality, and an old school vocal style that echoes Muddy Waters, Otis Redding and Teddy Pendergrass, Rayford is also a stellar dancer with moves reminiscent of the Legendary James Brown. Somebody Save Me is an ambitious album that slides gracefully between the new blues of Gary Clarke Jr. and Fantastic Negrito and the vintage Daptones soul of the late Charles Bradley and Sharon Jones, bringing a fresh take to classic sounds. The album was produced by Forty Below Records founder Eric Corne, best known for his work with blues legends John Mayall and Walter Trout. Corne recorded the bulk of the record live and the chemistry of the performances infuses the songs with a spontaneity and raw emotion. With his 8-piece crack band and personal charm, Rayford’s live shows are quickly becoming renowned for their high-energy and celebratory nature, with Rayford whipping the crowds into a frenzy, like a Gospel Preacher. In the studio and in person, Sugaray Rayford is developing a reputation as a force to be reckoned with and an artist to watch in the coming years. Rayford began his musical career at the tender age of seven, singing and playing drums in church, and his gospel influences definitely shine through in his music. The soulful rasp and emotive vocal style hint at his first-hand experience with hardship, and a childhood marked by poverty and loss. “I remember a sad game I used to play with my brothers, a competition that determined who was skinniest by counting the number of belt holes left unused,” recalls Rayford. @GNoteEntertainmentMagazine 13 | P a g e www.G-NoteEntertainment.biz

His mother struggled to raise three boys alone while battling cancer. \"She suffered and we suffered,\" Rayford says. \"Then, we moved in with my grandmother and our lives improved. We ate every day and we were in church every day, which I loved. I grew up in gospel and soul.” The ten songs on Somebody Save Me explore contrasting themes of darkness and light and musically the album is full of inspired arrangements with several unexpected twists and turns; like the John Barry (James Bond) inspired bridge of “Angels and Devils”; the wobbly 1950s inspired keyboard solo and lush strings of the title track; and the gospel choir, shape-shifting keyboards and dramatic horns of “The Revelator” which seamlessly blends blues, soul and jazz with a hint of reggae. But at the center if it all is Sugaray Rayford’s commanding voice, tying it all together. Lazer Lloyd's Summer 2019 release \"Help Is On It's Way\" takes his recorded music to a new level featuring 13 original tracks focusing on Lazer's heart penetrating songwriting. \"Help Is On It's Way\" was produced by Eric Paul (Willie Nelson, Townes Van Zandt, Emmylou Harris, Kris Kristofferson etc) at Ricky Skaggs Studio in Nashville featuring (Michael Rojas on keyboards, Michael Spriggs on rhythm guitar, Eddie Bayers on drums, and bass players Mark Fain and Eli Beaird). The brilliant band created by Eric and led by Lazer Lloyd produced music that is sheer heaven. To complete the album, Lazer found inspiration in the red dirt of Oklahoma and Texas working with many times Grammy nominated Chris Bell (Don Henley, Eagles, Erykah Badu, Luther Dickinson, Eric Johnson etc) at Billy Crockett’s Blue Rock Studios in Wimberley with a group of young Tulsa musicians. The sound achieved by Chris is warm and real and soul transforming. “Thousands of people have sent me their personal messages sharing their journeys, struggles, pains, joys, challenges and inspirations. I'm very humbled that the songs have touched people, each in their own way. All of you have become my teachers and inspiration.\" “My great love is sharing with an audience my own folk songs and ballads mixed with raw rock, stripped down country and blues -- you can call it Americana, but it is just continuing on the road started by the Allman Brothers…” \"Thousands of people have sent me their personal messages sharing their journeys, struggles, pains, joys, challenges and inspirations. I'm very humbled that the songs have touched people, each in their own way. All of you have become my teachers and inspiration.\" “Growing up our house was full of music. Bob Dylan, Jerry Jeff Walker, and Kris Kristofferson were big early influences on me as songwriters. I started to write songs in college, and it has become an essential part of who I am. My earliest interaction with the music industry was an Atlantic Records A&R exec taking an interest in a song I had written called “Bye Bye Baby” about a young model who went out to LA and ended up dead. They wanted to send me to Nashville to record with producer Garry Tallent (E-Street Band) and I started the process of showcasing for Atlantic in New York City where I lived at the time. “ “My path changed after I met a mystic in Central Park, and I started a journey that led me to meet my wife and start a family. Along the way always performing and the songs have continued to come down to me - starting with a lyric and sometimes as a melody. Every morning I carve out time to sit alone with the guitar and get into the flow - it keeps me going and makes it possible to cope with the painful struggle of this world and to be able to spread joy.” “As a young songwriter and guitar player, I loved Neil Young with his super sensitive acoustic and singing just suddenly firing it up with searing guitar. I first heard Stevie Ray Vaughn live at 14 and my father also took me to hear Santana live - those were life-changing experiences - seeing masters who performed on a level of prayer through music on stage. That set my mind and heart on playing music for life.” What others are saying about Lazer Lloyd: Razor sharp guitar and exuberant vocals.” Downbeat \"He puts soul into every note he sings and plays.\" Tahoe Onstage \"Johnny Cash meets Steve Earle...\" Digital Journal \"Lloyd’s guitar skills are impeccable, with a rich, deep vocal delivery...a consummate musician, writer, and storyteller\" Don & Sheryl Crow (Nashville Blues Society) Vintage Guitar magazine featured him as a talent to watch showing off his chops on \"tough blues-rockers, soul ballads, and funky Hendrix-inspired rock\". New Music Alert: A Brothers Revival In celebration of the 50th Anniversary of The Allman Brothers Band, two former members of that legendary group, bassist David 'Rook' Goldflies (who played with the ABB from 1978-1982) and keyboardist Johnny Neel (1989-1990) have joined with pianist-lead vocalist Gary Allman (late of the Allman Goldflies Band) to form A Brother’s Revival, honoring their former group by creating an incredible tribute show that includes their fans' favorite songs in their original format, just as they were performed when David and Johnny were touring with Gregg Allman, Dickey Betts, Butch Trucks, and Jai Johanny Johanson (a/k/a/ Jaimoe). The Allman Brothers Band were one of the most influential groups of the Seventies, combining rock, country, R&B and blues, to create a sound that was loved by millions of fans. This success helped to make Gregg Allman’s legendary blues voice one of the most distinguishable in music. Few singers have the range and passion to successfully cover Gregg’s music. A Brother’s Revival is fortunate to feature the voice of lead singer Gary Allman, whose strong, bluesy voice delivers Allman-esque vocals reminiscent of Gregg’s iconic sound. A Brother's Revival will perform all the Allman Brothers Band’s most memorable classic hits, including \"Whipping Post,\" \"In Memory of Elizabeth Reed,\" \"Southbound,\" \"Ramblin Man,\" \"Melissa,\" \"Jessica,\" \"One Way Out,\" \"Midnight Rider,\" \"Soulshine,\" \"Statesboro Blues,\" \"Good Clean Fun\" and of course, \"Revival.\" The song list will change from show to show, with unexpected jams added -- just as the 'Brothers have always done to keep the show exciting for their fans. 18 | P a g e https://abrothersrevival.com www.G-Not eEntert ai nmhetntpt.sb:i/z/www.facebook.com/A-Brothe@rsG-NRoetveivEanlter t ainmen tMagazine

G-Note -Anthony, when did you first realize that you could make music your lifelong career? AG- “It stated in High School, I just evolved into playing music naturally. I started to play guitar at age 14 and absolutely fell in love with it. Eventually, I put a band together in High School. After a while, I started playing bars. Back then no one wanted to sing the Blues, so I started to work on my singing and studying the Blues. And, that has brought me to where I am today.” Anthony and his band had their first public appearance in Chicago in April of 1997, and everyone in the music industry was talking about the Anthony Gomes Band. In the spring of 1998 they took first place in Buddy Guy's Legends first annual \"Best Unsigned Blues Band\" competition, winning $10,000 in prizes. Buddy Guy himself was on hand to congratulate them. Additionally, they were singled out as the top Blues band in the Chicago area is a great honor that has helped gain them national and regional attention. Anthony and his band has shared the stage with legends like Buddy Guy, Koko Taylor, Jimmy Johnson, Lucky Peterson, Eddie King, Smokin' Joe Kubek, Big Jack Johnson, Otis Clay, Eddie C. Campbell, Bar-Kays, Clarence \"Gatemouth\" Brown and Sugar Blue to name a few. Some of the Awards A.G. and his band have taken home include: 1998: Buddy Guy's Legends \"Best Unsigned Blues Band\" and 2003: BluesWax Artist of the Year and Anthony has been nominated for Electric Act of the Year in the 2016 Canadian Maple Blues Awards. G-Note- Please tell me about your foundation, “Music Is The Medicine” AG- “The Music Is The Medicine Foundation (MiTM), was founded in 2010, is a national non-profit organization that was created to positively impact people's lives through the healing power of music and the belief that music can inspire tangible change in the world.” “Every single dollar we collect, goes directly to the foundation. We don’t take any money out for administrative fees.” Since its inception, MITM has directly helped children with cancer, young adults with Autism and war veterans with PTSD. It has funded songwriting scholarships, offered musical education programs and donated musical instruments. In addition to private donations, MITM has been awarded grants from State Farm Insurance and CVS Pharmacy as well as partnering with Apple, St. Jude's Children's Hospital, Once Upon A String and Six String Heroes. Today, MITM's social media reach spans 46 countries and 26 languages. G-Note- Let’s talk about you latest album, “Peace Love & Loud Guitars” AG- “Peace Love & Loud Guitars is celebrating with lots of accolades and in my opinion, is the strongest release of the dozen albums, I feel like we hit the mark this one. This album is the mission statement of the album and for a bunch of albums were going to make from here on in. The idea is we are Blues rock unapologetic; you don’t like it there’s the door. Turn up the Marshall amp to 11 and ask for forgiveness later. Proud of the direction, feels like we are head spearing a revolution it’s ok to be a Blues rocker, it’s ok to love Muddy Waters and Deep Purple it’s all good. “ G-Note- I heard a story that you had some interruptions when recording your album “Electric Field Holler” studio sessions anything you can to share with us? AG- “Oh yeah, I was in the studio singing vocals in Ferguson, Missouri the night they had the riots in protest for the (Michael Brown) shooting. We were about three blocks away from all of that. We had to stop because you could hear the police helicopters in the vocal microphone. It was crazy, it was like a war zone.” G-Note- Who were your musical influences as a kid starting out and who do you follow today? 20 | P a g e @GNoteEntertainmentMagazine www.G-NoteEntertainment.biz

AG- “My first heroes were rock guitarist’s like Hendrix, Van Halen and of course Clapton. Then I found the blues and beautiful guitar players like B.B. King and Albert Collins, I still love B.B. King, I learned a lot from him and miss him a lot.” G-Note -Do you recall your first “Professional” gig? And how was it? AG- “Oh, I remember, my first gig was at our high school band night. I think I was 16. We played “Smoke On The Water\" by Deep Purple and “Heartbreaker” and “Communication Breakdown” by Led Zeppelin. I went to a strict Catholic school and we had to audition for the show. They (nuns) wouldn’t allow us to sing the word “Suck” in the break of “Communication Breakdown”. They thought that was too over the top. We ended up talking them into letting us say \"squeeze my lemon\" instead, which was probably worse!” We felt like we got away with porn!” (Chuckling) G-Note -What does Blues music mean to you? AG- “Blues to me is the ability to play music from an emotional perspective rather than an intellectual one. That’s why it has to have feeling. A good blues song has a lot of passion and personality to it. “ As a history scholar he completed his master’s thesis on the racial and cultural evolution of Blues music. In 2014 he published his thesis as, 'The Black and White of Blues.' Yet, today, Anthony still feels he's a 'student' of the genre. Gomes went on to explain, “As far as the future of Blues goes, we will gain some things and we’ll lose some things. But I don’t think it won’t be any better or worse... just different. I am always excited to hear new artists grow and develop into future legends. It is very exciting time for the Blues. The fear is that nobody is here forever, and we will lose people that can never be replaced. But I’m a 100% sure the music will carry on.” G-Note- What do you learn about yourself from playing the Blues? AG- “I have learned that we all have the Blues. No matter where you are or where you’ve been. No matter what the color of your skin is or what God you pray to. It is something universal within all of us. We are one. At the same time, we are all unique. It is our differences that make us special and important. But these differences are what contribute to the greater good and make the collective much stronger and richer.” Gomes continued on, “The Blues has taught me to be honest with myself regardless of what others may think of you or your style. The Blues has also taught me that anything is possible. Remember, the Blues grew from prejudice and oppression in Mississippi and now has grown to be a worldwide musical phenomenon that includes all. It is amazing that when you go to Japan, they are playing the Blues- In Japan! That encourages me that we are going to be ok!” G-Note- You have played with many legendary artists. Which gigs or artist have been the biggest influence for you? And why? AG- “Touring with B. B. King is my number one favorite experience and he is the reason I play the Blues. He was such a wonderful mentor and teacher. We would sometime just talk, about anything. I would watch how he interacted with his fans, it got to the point where his crew had to lie to him and told him no one else was waiting to meet him, he would be out signing autographs for 2 or 3 hours after a show. And this was still toward of his career. It was obvious that his fans were very, very important to him. As I mentioned earlier, I learned a lot from B.B King.” G-Note- I have seen you perform several times over the years, is it always been all about the Blues? Or are there any other types of music you have been strongly affected by? AG- “First and foremost, I am a Bluesman. I listen to music through the prism of a Blues artist. But I am inspired by and love all music. Rock, Gospel, Funk, Soul, Folk, etc.” 21 | P a g e @GNoteEntertainmentMagazine www.G-NoteEntertainment.biz

G-Note- Anthony, this is a philosophical question, is Blues music is a healer of the soul? Or do you have to feel Blue to play Blues music? AG- “Everyone goes through heartache and pain. It is what makes us human. Blues helps us get through this but not in a depressing way. Blues music also celebrates the good things in life. Just listen to B.B. King, you’ll get it!” G-Note- What do you say to the people that say to you, there is too much rock and roll in your music? AG- “In a lot of ways, in the Blues world, there put us in a little Blues box, I am not talking about being a Blues artist in a big box of music. In the little Blues box, there is a group of people I call the “Blues Police”. The Blues Police are very resistant to change, and they like to think of themselves as the taste makers of what actual blues is. Artists like myself are seen as destroying the Blues. “ “In a lot of ways people look at me as a villain and they look at me that way because I’m bringing in rock influences and I am bringing in my personal perspective to the Blues.” “So, for these Blues Police, they have a real hard time with that. To be honest, I really miss artists like Muddy Waters and B.B. King. When these artists played their music, even well into their senior years, and they continued to play it with fire and passion, because they were the architects of that sound.” “To me, music has to be based on the here and now, and the blues that some people perceive is not what the blues is. It is what it is in 2016 and B.B. King said it best, “The blues are like the law of the land, they need to be amended to fit the times we live in”. You see, its constantly changing, so I’m embracing the change.” “I’m unapologetic in my approach to saying yes, I love Muddy Waters and yes, I love Deep Purple and Zeppelin and the Stones. The DNA of the blues is in Rock and Roll and I’m convinced that the 2 can coexist and we can blur the lines.” “Music brings us together. Society tries so hard to define us in terms of how we are different. Music serves to remind us of how we are the same. “ For all things Anthony Gomes including the “Music Is The Medicine” foundation can be found at: anthonygomes.com. FEATURE: Rock Icon: Pat Benatar Pat Benatar Pat Benatar: she’s always been a rule-breaker and a trailblazer, she remains a bold and distinctive artist both on stage and on record, and now, after more than three decades in rock ‘n’ roll, she’s a bonafided living legend. A four-time Grammy winner, Benatar is a classically trained mezzo-soprano. During the 1980s, Benatar had two RIAA- certified Multi-Platinum albums, five RIAA-certified Platinum albums, three RIAA-certified Gold albums and 19 Top 40 singles, including the Top 10 hits, \"Hit Me With Your Best Shot\", \"Love Is a Battlefield\", \"We Belong\" and \"Invincible\". During the early days of MTV Benatar was one of the most heavily played artists on the popular music channel. Her hits continue to be as unforgettable now as they were at the dawn of MTV, when Pat emerged, fearless, fighting and forging a path for other female rock stars around the world. Born Patricia Andrzejewski in Brooklyn, New York and raised in Lindenhurst, Long Island, Pat started singing in elementary school and never stopped, working on her craft throughout her teens. At 19, after one six months in college, she dropped out to marry her high school sweetheart Dennis Benatar, an army draftee who trained at Fort Jackson, South. The couple would eventually divorce, in 1979. In 1973, Benatar quit her job as a bank teller to pursue a singing career full time after being inspired by a concert she saw in Richmond, VA. She got a gig singing with a lounge band called Coxon’s Army, who soon became regulars at Sam Millers Basement Club and fairly well known in and around Richmond. In 1975, just as Coxon’s Army was about to break, and against the advice of everyone involved, Benatar quit the band. She packed everything she owned into her car and headed back to NYC alone, with only $2500.00 in her pocket. And she never looked back. One night in 1975 Benatar decided to try an open mic night at Catch a Rising Star. She was 27th in line to go on and didn’t hit the stage until 2:00am. Benatar’s rendition of Judy Garland’s “Rock A Bye Your Baby with a Dixie Melody” sent the crowd reeling. Hearing the room explode, the owner of the club, Rick Newman, rushed in to see who could possibly be commanding such a response from the room. He watched the rest of the performance, and when the band was finish3e2d|, NPeawgmean approached Benatar and demanded” Who ARE you?”. Catch a Rising Star was not the only break Benatar got in 1975. She also landed the part of Zephyr in The Zinger, Harry Chapin's off Broadway, futuristic rock musical. The production, which debuted on March 19, 1976, at the Performing Arts Foundation's (PAF) Playhouse in Huntington Station, Long Island, ran for one month and also featured Beverly D'Angelo and Christine Lahti. Halloween, 1977, proved a pivotal night in Benatar’s career. Earlier in the evening, she’d dressed up as a character from the cult sci-fi movie “Cat Women of the Moon” and headed with friends down to Café Figaro in the Village. She entered the clubs costume contest…and won. To celebrate, the group all went back uptown to their haunt, catch a Rising Star and performed in costume. Despite performing her usual array of songs, she received a standing ovation. It was not her first, but she knew that this spandexed stage persona was a hit. So, she repeated the look again the next night and received the same reaction from the crowd. As the nights went by, the outfits were tweaked a bit, the spandex was modified, and the signature look that everyone came to know, was born. In 1978, in between appearances at Catch a Rising Star and recording commercial jingles for Pepsi Cola, Benatar headlined New York City’s Tramps nightclub, where her performance impressed representatives from several record companies. She was signed to Chrysalis Records by co-founder Terry Ellis. In the spring of 1979, producer and writer, Mike Chapman, introduced Benatar to Neil Giraldo, an up and coming guitarist. Giraldo began his career in 1978, as a key member of the Rick Derringer band, after beating out 200 other guitarists for the position. Chapman felt Benatar needed a musical director and partner who could establish a more aggressive sound and thought Giraldo was the perfect choice. In Giraldo, Benatar found someone as strong as her, someone who could match the same firepower, someone who could inspire her, while being inspired by her. Their connection was instantaneous……..It was indeed, a perfect fit. In the Heat of the Night, was recorded in June and July 1979. This was the first time the world was introduced to Giraldo and Benatar’s enduring partnership and their rock ‘n’ roll love affair. In The Heat Of The Night, which included the classic “Heartbreaker”, as well as the Giraldo-penned hit, “We Live For Love”, went platinum. 1980 Grammy winning album, Crimes of Passion, saw Giraldo arranging, playing guitar and keyboards and providing vocals for songs like \"Fire and Ice\". The album included her signature song, “Hit Me With Your Best Shot” and reached quintuple platinum while giving Pat her first Top 10, million selling hit. The following year, Benatar and Giraldo cemented their place in music history forever, by being the first female and first guitarist, respectively, to ever appear on MTV, with the video for “You Better Run”. The duo continued in 1981 with Precious Time, which had Giraldo officially on board as producer and arranger; as well as guitar, keyboards and vocals. Precious Time delivered a second Grammy for Benatar, for the lead single, “Fire and Ice”, and went double platinum, outdoing its predecessor by hitting #1. These achievements cemented the Giraldo/Benatar partnership as an increasingly unstoppable force in the music industry. Of the ten Grammy Award ceremonies in the 1980s, Benatar was nominated for Best Female Rock Performance nine times, including for “We Belong” and \"Invincible\" in 1984, \"Sex as a Weapon\" in 1986, \"All Fired Up\" in 1988 and in 1989 for \"Let's Stay Together\". She won an unprecedented four consecutive Grammy Awards for Best Female Rock Performance from 1980 to 1983 for her second LP, Crimes of Passion, and the songs \"Fire and Ice\", \"Shadows of the Night\", and \"Love Is a Battlefield\". Other platinum albums followed. The team repeated their musical arrangement on Get Nervous in 1982, which featured yet another Top Five hit and Grammy-winner, Shadows of the Night. 1983’s Live From Earth boasted the million selling Gold single, “Love Is A Battlefield”. The single peaked at Number 5 in the US, winning Benatar another Grammy along the way. 1984’s Tropico shined its spotlight on the Top Five as well, charting the Grammy-nominated “We Belong”. In 1985 Seven The Hard Way would hit the US Top 10 with the #10 single \"Invincible\" which also became the theme for the movie, The Legend of Billie Jean. \"Sex As a Weapon\" would climb as high as #28 in January of 1986. In 1988, Benatar released her 8th album, Wide Awake in Dreamland, primarily recorded in Giraldo’s studio, which spun off the Top 20 hit “All Fired Up.” The album earned her yet another Grammy nomination for “Let’s Stay Together” in 1989. In 1991 came the blues/swing-inspired True Love album, followed in 1993 by the critically acclaimed Gravity’s Rainbow. In 1997, Pat released Innamorata on the CMC International label. Then in 1998, further celebrating Benatar’s live prowess, 8-18-80, a live recording of a concert at the Old Waldorf in San Francisco, was released. In 1999, Benatar and Giraldo opened their private vaults and compiled an extensive three-CD collection, Synchronistic Wanderings: Recorded Anthology 1979-1999. This impressive set includes songs from soundtracks (including Speed), contributions to tribute projects and benefits, previously unreleased live recordings, outtakes and demos, B- sides, and rarities never before available on CD. As if that wasn’t enough, in the summer of 2002, Benatar and Giraldo released a thrilling live CD and DVD. The CD, Summer Vacation Soundtrack Live, and the DVD, Summer Vacation Live, featured a 90-minute concert filmed at the Grove Theatre in Anaheim, California. In addition, they debuted four new songs (“I Won’t,” “Girl,” “Out Of The Ruins,” and “Please Don’t Leave Me”) as well as previously unrecorded acoustic versions of “We Belong” and “Love Is A Battlefield.” Summer Vacation Live DVDalso included behind the scenes footage and exclusive interviews. In August 2003, Benatar released Go, her first album of new songs in seven years. Benatar described the record as a “contemporary guitar-driven record” and “the natural progression of where we should be”. After being inducted into the Long Island Hall of Fame in 2008, Benatar released her long-awaited autobiography in 2010, the appropriately-titled Between a Heart and a Rock Place – which allowed the world a fascinating glimpse into the life and times of one of the most beloved female rock ‘n’ roll icons of all time. Pat Benatar is acknowledged as the leading female rock vocalist of the ‘80s – a feat marked by her unprecedented winning of four consecutive Grammy Awards between 1980 and 1983, as well as three American Music Awards – but Benatar and Giraldo remain a rock ‘n’ roll powerhouse today, selling out concerts and still wowing audiences after over three decades in music together. Theirs is a chemistry that will, undoubtedly, be thrilling music-lovers forever. 34 | P a g e @GNoteEntertainmentMagazine www.G-NoteEntertainment.biz

New Music Alert: Kathryn Grimm Musician/singer/songwriter Kathryn Grimm’s new CD “BLUES TOOLS” (Release Date: Tuesday, February 19) is a twelve-song collection of mostly original material in the Electric Blues/Rock genre. The first song of the CD was born in Los Angeles just over a year ago where Kathryn was gigging as a bassist for another artist. In the spare room of a kind couple’s home who put her up “The Best of Me,” her self-proclaimed anthem for domestic violence, was spontaneously penned. “I’d been wracking my brain for some time trying to find a way to write a song with a subliminal message for victims of abuse. Using simple language my hope was for them to see themselves and be inspired to find help. I truly believe that’s what I've accomplished with this song. What I didn’t realize at the time is that I was writing about my own situation.” Kathryn’s chronic introspection has resulted in several autobiographical ditties on the CD. “God Is Testing Me” was written minutes after she discovered her van had been stolen in broad daylight with her gear inside. “Talking To The Wind” has an infectious Latin Blues groove and is an ode to “being with someone incapable of listening”. “C’mon Home” is a song about the regrets of mistreating someone, “a stinging reminder of a former immature me”. There are several lighthearted songs as well that show Kathryn’s humorous side. With “You Make Me So Happy I Can’t Sing The Blues“Kathryn says “I was pondering the dilemma of a Blues artist too content to continue writing Blues songs”. The sexy “Lovegun” has a smoldering sax solo and is filled with euphemisms (“It was so grand what you planned, the way you shot me with your Lovegun”). The title track “Blues Tools” is a feel-good empowerment song with the fun side of Kathryn’s personality coming out in many ad-libs. “Hot Date With Buzz” is a hysterical tale about a woman’s too-close friendship with her vibrator complete with a stripper- like groove and a stunning slide guitar solo from the late virtuoso Jeff Buckley. Grimm’s voice is in top form and she shows her versatility singing Blues, Jazz with Quincy Jones’ hit “Miss Celie’s Blues” from The Color Purple, Gospel on the traditional classic “Trouble of this World” and Rock - the vocal on the ballad “Empty Space” is chilling. Kathryn also does not disappoint in the guitar department. Several songs showc3a6s|ePsoamg e blazing solo guitar playing. www.G-NotekEanttherrytanignmriemntm.bmiz usic.com facebook.co@mG N/ko taetEhnrtyenr t.agi rnimmemn t M.9a0g a z i n e
