we

we
take

And
that

!!
It's

Every

to

all
excited

And
we

Congratulations
to
you
as
you
take
charge
as
District
Rotaract
Representative
of
RID

for
the
session
2020-21. The
upcoming
year
will
be
challenging
for
all
of
us.
The
COVID-19
pandemic
has
changed
the
way
Rotary
and
Rotaractors
meet,
connect,
and
perform
acts
of
service.
It
will
be
up
to
you
to
rise
to
this
challenge
and
create
a
different
Rotary
experience
than
any
of
us
have
experienced. This
is
a
great
opportunity.
You
and
your
team
will
need
to
use
new
tools
to
collaborate,
which
will
help
to
build
strong,
engaged
clubs
dedicated
to
strengthening
communities.
You
will
use
your
years
of
experience
as
a
Rotaractor
and
as
a
leader
to
provide
inspiration,
motivation
and
guidance
as
we
work
together
to
achieve
our
goals
for
Rotary.
I
hope
you
will
do
everything
you
can
to
incorporate
Rotaractors
in
all
that
you
do
and
especially,
to
reach
out
to
them
as
the
digital
world
becomes
ever
more
important
to
the
work
we
do. In
Rotary,
we
are
not
afraid
to
confront
challenges,
both
immediate
and
long-term.
When
we
vaccinate
an
infant
against
polio,
teach
a
young
adult
how
to
read,
or
bring
water
to
a
village
by
building
a
well,
we
are
creating
a
better
world
for
future
generations.
We
serve
the
global
community
and
we're
just
getting
started.Encourage
your
Rotaractors
to
be
proactive
in
participating
with
their
Rotary
club
and
district. It
is
an
honour
to
work
beside
you
as
we
guide
our
fellow
Rotarians

Rotaractors
to
another
successful

I

gives

my

for
this

This

RID

I'm
thankful
to
DRR
Rtr
Tasneem-E-Gul
for

(Reporting)
of
RID
3250.
As
we
move
ahead
to
make
this
Rotary
year
2020-21
a
successful
one,
I
request
all
rotaractors
of
RID
3250
to
remember
why
they
have
joined
Rotaract.
There
might
be
common
reason
for
everyone.
The
foremost
reason
for
joining
Rotaract
is
community
service.
The
general
reasons
like
friendship,
networking
and
fellowship
also
exist.
Rotaractors
always
do
extra
ordinary
things
by
doing
unique
and
impactful
projects.
The
society
must
be
aware
about
all
these
happenings.
And,
we
should
always
keep
in
mind
to
promote
the
brand
Rotaract
in
our
society.
The
mode
of
publicity
should
be
either
print
media
or
digital
media.
Rotary
International
has
provided
us
this
platform
to
show
our
commitment
and
work
for
the
benefit
of
our
society.
We
have
got
a
chance
to
bring
change
in
ourselves
and
in
the
world.
At
every
step
we
learn
new
things,
every
day
we
make
new
memories
and
an
everlasting
impact We
should
try
to
figure
out
the
meaning
of
our
lives
rather
than
running
after
the
money
and
power.
This
will
put
us
on
the
path
of
self-realization
and
satisfaction
and
help
us
understand
the
true
goal
of
our
creation.

All
the

from

to
the
MDIO
fulcrum,
each
one
of
us
should
always
remember
the
words
of
Dalai
Lama:
“Not
getting
what
you
want
is
sometimes
a
wonderful
stroke
of
luck.”
All
of
us
have
spent
time
in
thinking
of
innovative
ideas
and
setting
targets
for
our
respective

As
we
go
through
our
Rotaract
Journey,
dear
friends,
keep
in
mind
that
we
should
have
a
reason
why
we
are
in
Rotaract.
Find
a
reason
for
yourself
to
give
time
to
Rotaract.
And
when
it
comes
to
Rotaract,
we
have
a
bag
full
of
events,
projects

lined
up,
I
would

With
the

as
I
look
behind
at
the
8

have

I
get
a
very
clear
message
for

it

By

opportunities
that
Rotary

brings
for
us,
and
the
opportunities
we
can
create
for

Let
us
explore
the
opportunities
that
Rotary
creates
for
us
and
utilize
these
opportunities
to
the
best
possible.
At
the
same

let
us
also
focus
on
what
opportunities
we
can
create
for
the

in
our

to
improve

in

Let

31 ABOUT
ROTARACT Rotaract
is
a
Rotary‑sponsored
service
club
for
young
men
and
women
ages
18
to
30.
Rotaract
clubs
are
either
community
or
university
based,
and
they're
sponsored
by
a
local
Rotary
club.
This
makes
them
true
partners
in
service'
and
key
members
of
the
family
of
Rotary. As
one
of
Rotary's
most
significant
and
fastest‑growing
service
programs,
with
more
than
9,500
clubs
in
about
170
countries
and
geographical
areas,
Rotaract
has
become
a
worldwide
phenomenon. WHAT
IS
A
ROTARACT
CLUB? Rotaract,
an
acronym
for
'Rotary
in
ac on',
is
the
youth
wing
of
Rotary
Interna onal
spreading
the
joy
of
Rotary
amongst
youngsters
between
18
and
30
years
of
age.
Rotaract
is
a
part
of
the
global
effort
to
bring
peace
and
Interna onal
understanding
to
the
world.
This
effort
starts
at
the
community
level
but
knows
no
limits
in
its
outreach.
There
are
9,539
Rotaract
clubs,
divided
into
various
districts
for
the
purpose
of
easy
governance,
spread
across
178
countries
with
219,397
Rotaractors
all
over
the
world. WHY
TO
ORGANIZE
A
ROTARACT
CLUB? Today's
young
people
will
become
tomorrow's
parents,
professionals,
business
leaders,
and
community
leaders.
With
the
help
of
programs
like
Rotaract,
they
can
gain
the
tools
and
skills
necessary
to
develop
into
responsible,
produc ve
members
of
society.
Now
is
the
me
for
Rotary
clubs
to
focus
on
the
future
by
challenging
the
new
genera ons
to
test
their
talents,
develop
new
skills,
and
confront
issues
they
will
face
in
their
life me.
The
Rotaract
program
can
ins ll
in
its
members
life
skills
that
can
be
shared
with
others
for
genera ons
to
come. FUNCTIONS
OF
A
ROTARACT
CLUB The
Rotaract
club
organizes
a
variety
of
project
and
ac vi es,
depending
primarily
on
the
interest
of
the
club
members.
However,
within
the
Rotaract
program,
all
clubs
undertake
three
kinds
of
ac vi es
in
varying
degrees;
professional
development,
leadership
development,
and
service
projects.
Together
these
three
areas
ensure
a
balanced
club
program
and
provide
important
experience
and
opportuni es
for
the
personal
development
of
each
Rotaractor. PROFESSIONAL
DEVELOPMENT A
club's
professional
development
ac vi es
should
expand
the
members:
understanding
of
the
work
environment
and
business
opportuni es
within
their
community.
These
ac vi es
should
highlight
the
Rotaractor's
role
in
the
community's
economic
development
and
illustrate
how
the
skills
developed
through
service
ac vi es
can
help
in
resolving
problems
in
the
place
of
work.
Each
Rotaract
club
should
provide
professional
development
opportuni es
to
its
members
through
ac vi es
such
as: Professional
and
voca onal
forums. Business
technology
updates. Management
and
marke ng
seminars. Conference
on
business
and
professional
ethics. Presenta on
on
finance
and
credit
op ons
for
business
start‑up. Sponsoring
Rotarians
can
enhance
the
professional
development
of
Rotaractors
by
providing
prac cal
advice
on
entering
the
business
world
and
tackling
business,
voca onal
and
professional
changes.
Making
the
clubs
professional
development
projects
can
also
help
Rotaractors
get
be er
acquainted
with
sponsoring
Rotarians. SERVICE
PROJECTS Service
above
Self
is
Rotary's
foremost
guiding
principle.
A
Rotaract
club's
service
projects
are
designed
to
improve
the
quality
of
life
at
home
and
abroad.
These
projects
o en
address
today's
most
cri cal
issues,
such
as
violence,
drug
abuse,
AIDS,
hunger,
the
environment,
and
illiteracy.
Each
Rotaract
club
is
required
to
complete
at
least
two
major
service
projects
annually,
one
serving
the
community
and
other
to
promote
interna onal
understanding.
Each
should
involve
all
or
most
of
the
members
of
the
club. District

32 LEADERSHIP
DEVELOPMENT A
club's
leadership
development
ac vi es
aim
not
only
to
make
members
more
effec ve
leaders
in
their
personal
lives,
but
also
to
teach
them
how
to
develop
and
sustain
strong
clubs
with
relevant
projects.
Important
topics
to
address
in
training
club
leaders
include: Improving
public
speaking
skills. Developing
techniques
for
marke ng
the
Rotaract
program
to
poten al
members. Building
consensus
among
members. Delega ng
project
responsibili es
and
ensuring

channels
for

and

for

success. HISTORY
OF
ROTARACT Rotaract,

program
for

18‑30,
was
officially
inaugurated
during
January
1968
under‑Rotary
Interna onal
President
Luther

On
13th
March
1968,
the
Rotaract
Club
of
the
University
of
North

sponsored
by
the
Rotary
Club
of
North
Charlo e,
North
Carolina,
USA,
was
the
first
Rotaract
club
to
receive
its
official
charter.
Although
this
club
is
recognized
as
the
first
Rotaract
club,
Rotarians
have
been
sponsoring
similar
organiza ons
for
young
adults
since
the
early
1920s.
The
earliest
known
predecessors
to
Rotaract,
Twenty
Thirty
clubs,
were
first
sponsored
by
the
Rotary
clubs,
and
membership
was
open
to
young
professionals
and
university
students.
The
first
mee ng
of
a
Twenty‑Thirty
club
was
held
on
19
December
1922.
At
one
point,
the
movement
claimed
as
many
as
125
clubs
under
the
sponsorship
of
California
Rotary
clubs
and
published
a
monthly
magazine. In
1927,
Round
Table
clubs
were
founded
in
Great
Britain
and
Ireland.
Membership
in
Round
Table
clubs
was
open
to
young
men
aged
between
18
and
40
and
by
1935,
there
are
more
than
90
Round
Table
clubs
existed.
In
November
1930,
the
first
Apex
club
was
formed
in
Geelong,
Australia.
Apex
clubs
grew
rapidly,
expanding
to
more
than
20
clubs
in
just
a
few
years.
These
clubs
were
sponsored
by
Rotary
clubs,
and
were
open
to
professionals
and
students
between
the
ages
of
18
and
35.
Similar
Rotary
club‑sponsored
groups
con nued
to
spring
up
simultaneously
and
independently
around
the
globe.
Uniserve
clubs
in
India,
Orbis
clubs
in
South
America,
Rotors
clubs
in
South
Africa,
Paul
Harris
circles
in
Europe,
and
Quadrant
clubs
in
the
United
States
are
some
of
the
best‑known
examples.
Eventually,
these
clubs
would
provide
the
base
for
the
future
growth
of
Rotaract
as
the
clubs
adopted
new
names
under
the
Rotaract
program.
Perhaps
the
greatest
impetus
for
the
crea on
of
the
Rotaract
program
came
from
Rotary's
youth
service
club
for
secondary
school
students,
Interact
clubs.
Established
in
1962,
the
Interact
program
enjoyed
immediate
success.
However,
since
membership
was
only
open
to
students
in
secondary
schools,
graduated
Interactors
and
Rotarians
were
soon
looking
for
ways
to
extend
their
rela onship.
Several
proposals
were
brought
before
the
Rotary
Interna onal
Board
of
Directors
to
allow
membership
in
Interact
clubs
to
extend
for
a
few
years
a er
gradua on.
Instead
of
extending
the
age
requirements
for
Interact,
the
Board
decided
to
study
the
feasibility
of
crea ng
a
new
service
program
for
young
adults
at
the
university
and
young
professional
level. The
decision
to
adopt
the
Rotaract
program
came
at
a
me
when
students
protest
worldwide
was
growing
concern
to
Rotarians.
The
Rotaract
program
was
adopted
not
only
as
means
of
keeping
former
Interactors
within
the
Rotary
Family,
but
as
means
of
channeling
the
energies
of
young
adults
into
posi ve
ac vi es
that
could
benefit
to
their
communi es. A
special
commi ee
was
convened
to
design
the
new
service
club
program
for
young
adults
during
1966.
A er
polling
students
at
the
University
of
Houston,
Texas,
USA,
the
commi ee
decided
that
'Rotaract'
would
be
the
best
name
for
the
program‑a
combina on
of
the
words'
Rotary'
and
'ac on'. Coincidentally,
the
service
club
at
the
University
of
North
Carolina
had
already
adopted
the
name
in
1966,
but
they
coined
it
as
a
combina on
of
the
names
'Rotary'
and
'Interact'.
The
commi ee
also
decided
that
young
women
should
be
allowed
to
join
on
equal
standing
with
male
members
at
the
discre on
of
the
sponsoring
Rotary

England,
Turkey,
Mexico,
and
Brazil.
The
next
conference
is
set
for
Sydney,
Australia,
in
2014.
Interna onal
mee ngs
for
Rotaractors
are
also
held
every
year
at
the
Rotaract
Preconven on
Mee ng
that
preceded
Rotary's
annual
conven on.
The
first
such
mee ng
was
held
in
Seoul,
Korea,
in
1989,
with
more
than
450
Rotaractors
in
a endance. Several
developments
in
the
early
1990s
helped
strengthen
the
Rotaract
movement.
In
February
1991,
the
first
Rotaract
club
in
Eastern
Europe
was
chartered
in
Budapest,
Hungary,
with
the
help
of
Austrian
Rotaractors,
Ties
with
Eastern
Europe
were
further
strengthened
when
the
same
Austrian
Rotaractors
helped
charter
the
Rotaract
club
of
Prague
in
what
was
then
Czechoslovakia
later
in
1991.
In
March
1992,
the
Rotary
Interna onal
Board
established
World
Rotaract
Week
which
is
celebrated
annually
during
the
week
of
13
March
to
commemorate
the
chartering
of
the
first
Rotaract
club.
During
World
Rotaract
Week,
Rotaractors
a end
mee ngs
with
sponsoring
Rotary
clubs,
undertake
joint
service
projects,
and
speak
with
clubs
that
do
not
sponsor
Rotaract
clubs
about
the
benefits
of
the
program.
Since
1968,
Rotaractors
have
con nually
shown
that
they
can
be
innova ve
and
posi ve
force
for
change
in
their
communi es.
Service
ac vi es
commonly
undertaken
include
projects
to
improve
the
environment,
visits
with
the
elderly
or
disabled,
blood
or
organ
dona on
campaigns,
and
aid
to
developing
countries.
One
example
of
the
ingenuity
employed
by
Rotaractors
is
a
project
undertaken
by
the
Rotaract
clubs
of
Heemstede
and
Hilegom‑Lissee,
the
Netherlands,
in
1987.
In
order
to
raise
funds
for
Polio‑Plus,
Rotaractors
from
the
two
clubs
designed
an
amphibious
cycle
that
would
cross
the
English
Channel
under
the
power
of
36
Rotaractors.
The
campaign
raised
US
$210,000
for
Polio‑Plus
and
earned
the
Rotaractors
a
place
in
Guinness
Book
of
World
Record
for
their
speedy
crossing. ROTARACT
PROGRAMS Rotaract
clubs
organize
a
variety
of
projects
and
ac vi es
in
varying
degrees,
depending
primarily
on
the
interests
of
the
club
members.
To
convene
these
projects
successfully
they
conduct
mee ngs.
Within
Rotaract
programs,
all
programs
they
do
can
be
classified
into
four
avenues
of
service.
They
are: 1.CLUB
SERVICE:
Projects
done
to
maximize
friendship/interac on
within
the
club
members
and
with
other
clubs
in
the
district. 2.COMMUNITY
SERVICE:
Projects
done
to
benefit
the
local
community
or
an
individual
in
the
community. 3.PROFESSIONAL/VOCATIONAL
SERVICE:
Projects
done
with
an
idea
to
enhance
the
personal
skills
and
leadership
quali es
of
the
Rotaractors
in
a
club. 4.INTERNATIONAL
SERVICE:
Projects
done
in
partnership
with
other
voluntary
organiza ons
and
Rotaract
clubs
outside
our
district. Whatever
project/ac vi es
you
may
think
off
can
be
grouped
under
these
four
avenues.
Through
these
four
avenues
of
projects
the
Rotaractors
ensure
a
balanced
club
program
and
provide
valuable
experience
and
opportuni es
for
the
personal
development
of
each
Rotaractor
and
also
the
development
of
a
community.
It
is
a
feeling
to
experience.
Today's
young
people
will
become
tomorrow's
parents,
professionals,
business
leaders,
and
community
leaders.
With
the
help
of
the
Rotaract
program,
they
can
gain
tools
and
skills
necessary
to
develop
into
responsible
members
of
society.
If
you
are
between
the
age
group
18‑30
and
not
in
Rotaract,
you
are
missing
something.
If
you
between18‑30
and

34 THE
FOUR
WAY
TEST Before
performing
the
projects
the
Rotaractors
ensure
the
authen city
of
the
project
by
applying
the
Rotary's
famous
Four
Way
Test.
From
the
earliest
days
of
the
organiza on,
Rotarians
were
concerned
with
promo ng
high
ethical
standards
in
their
professional
lives.
One
of
the
world's
most
widely
printed
and
quoted
statements
of
business
ethics
is
the
Four‑Way
Test,
was
created
in
1932
by
Rtn.
Herbert
J.
Taylor
(who
later
served
as
Rotary
Interna onal
President)
when
he
was
asked
to
take
charge
of
a
company
that
was
facing
bankruptcy.
This
24
word
test
for
employees
to
follow
in
their
business
and
professional
lives
become
the
guide
for
sales,
produc on,
adver sing
and
all
rela ons
with
dealers
and
customers,
and
the
survival
of
the
company
is
credited
to
this
simple
philosophy
adopted
by
Rotary
in
1943.
The
Four‑Way
Test
has
been
translated
into
more
than
a
hundred
languages
and
published
in
thousands
of
ways.
It
asks
the
following
four
ques ons: 1.
Is
it
the
TRUTH? 2.
Is
it
FAIR
to
all
concerned? 3.
Will
it
build
GOOD
WILL
and
BETTER
FRIENDSHIP? 4.
Will
it
be
BENEFICIAL
to
all
concerned? Significance:
Ethical
standards
in
business
have
been
a
concern
of
Rotary
since
its
founding
in
1905.
Four‑ Way
Test
is
a
tool
given
to
Rotarians
to
achieve
high
ethical
standards. ABOUT
INTERACT Interact
was
started
in
1963
by
Rotary
Interna onal.
There
are
2,
30,
000
members
in
10,000
interact
clubs
worldwide.
The
forma on
of
interact
club
is
posi ve
method
by
which
a
Rotary
club
can
give
a
prac cal
impression
of
its
concern
for
young
people
and
provide
opportuni es
which
may
not
be
available
to
the
same
target
popula on
of
14
to
18
year
old
elsewhere.
The
objec ves
of
Interact
are
based
on
Rotary
percep on
of
development
of
leadership
through
idea
of
service
above
self,
promo on
of
interna onal
understanding
and
crea on
of
the
importance
of
home,
family
and
stability
in
personal
rela onship. Interact:
the
Rotary's
youth
programme
was
launched
by
the
R.

of

The
term,
Interact,
is
derived
from
“Inter”
for
Interna onal
and
“Act”
for
Ac on.
Every
Interact
club
must
be
sponsored
and
supervised
by
a
Rotary
club
and
must
plan
annual
projects
of
service
to
its
school,
community
and
the
world.
Today
there
are
over
10000
Interact
clubs
with
more
than
2,30,000
members
in
117
countries.

to
