WORLD ENVIRONMENT DAYJUNE 5, 2017 Department of APPLIED SCIENCES, CHITKARA UNIVERSITY, remained on air for a Panel discussion to generate consciousness of the theme “VATAVARAN NAAL HEE SAMBHAV HAI MANAV JEEVAN“.JUNE 24, 2017 Ms Pooja Mahajan presented a project \"Water Purification System based on Earthen Pots\" under the esteemed guidance of Dr Jyotsna Kaushal in University Challenge Programme“Innovators Tank” held at IIT Bombay on 24th June, 2017.

TECHNOLOGY INNOVATION WORKSHOPSJUNE 27-30 & JULY 3-6, 2017Different Technology Innovation Workshops were organized for the first yearstudents of all branches of B.E. It was a great opportunity for the studentsto learn at this stage. The students were divided into 2 slots. One is in May,2016 and other to be scheduled in July,2016.It was compulsory for all thestudents to participate and students participated with full enthusiasm.

REPUBLIC DAYJAN 26, 2018On the eve of Republic Day, Department of Applied sciences bagged thesecond position for the Cleanliness program “Swachh Abhiyan” & thestudents of first year participated in the Bhangra Performance.

WORLD WATER DAYMARCH 22, 2018Department of Applied Sciences organized “World Water Day” on March 22,2018. Various events were: Poster Display, Videos on water conservation,presentation by student’s team. Expert talk was given by Mr Anil Singla (CEOEvapoTech, Patiala). A rely was moved to villages for the awareness.



MARCH 30-31, 2018 Ms A. Sangeetha participated in Two Day workshop on “EADIP – 2018 : Satellite Imaging” organised by Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering on March 30-31, 2017 at Chitkara University ,Himachal Pradesh.

JUNKOUSIAAPRIL 3, 2018Junkousia vation 2\" event under ISTE was conducted by Ms Chinky Jaggiassistant professor in the Department of Applied Sciences. In this eventparticipant from all B.E. branches used waste material to prepare innovativeand technical project.

APRIL 9-13, 2018 Dr Mohit Kumar Kakkar and Ms A.Sangeetha organised a 5 Day workshop on “Basics of C++” for the faculty of Department of Applied Sciences at Chitkara University, Punjab.

CHANCELLOR’S DAY WITH FACULTYAPRIL 28, 2018 Dr Jyotsna Kaushal, Dr Himanshu Sharma, Dr Arun Upmanyu, Ms Pooja Mahajan awarded for successfully filed Patent titled: “IMPROVED POTABLE EARTHEN DRINKING WATER UNIT” on the eve of the Chancellor’s Day with faculty. Dr Mohit Kakkar awarded for organising two workshops for the faculty.

ENGINEERING EXPLORATIONMAY 11, 2018 Various projects under the course of Engineering Exploration by the first year students of B.E. were displayed on May11, 2018.

NOVATEMAY 11, 2018First year B.E. Students bagged first prize for the project“Portable vaccumpot”. Second prize was given to the project “Fruit plucking Device”. JuryAwards won by the B.E. first year students for the projects“Shoe Shiner”and“Agro waste into biofuel”. First, second and third prize was given to the students forPublishing research vertical of Engineering Exploration.



MAY 25, 2018Faculty of Applied Sciences attended the workshop on “Understanding theimportance of addressing sexual harassment and family, neighborhood andother formal and informal institutions”.
