2018 MEDALLION WINNERS OBEDIENCE Eight stalwart bearded collies earned Obedience titles from the regular classes, five in Novice, two in Open and one in Utility. All the 2018 Obedience Medallion winners are lady beardies. The Novice A winner, a budding international star born in the U.S. but residing in Canada, crossed the border into the United States to successfully compete in AKC Obedience and Rally (Novice A). The Novice B winner, like her Novice A counterpart, did a lot of winning in Rally (Advanced B, Excellent B and Masters). The patience-is-a-virtue Open A winner earned titling scores annually at an April obedience trial given by the Sherwood Dog Training Club (2016, 2017 and 2018). The Utility A winner ground out the titling scores (that’s what it takes), but also qualified for the 2019 AKC National Obedience Invitational. Celebrating 30 Years in Pet Therapy! by Suzanne Easley Buck Chelsea, my first therapy dog use to visit. Chelsea instinctively went to the woman’s side and slid her head under the woman’s arm.
