CH Ha’Penny Handsome Devil ex GCHS Ha’Penny Deja Harwood Heartbreaker Once upon a starlit night, Arrived a puppy, sparkly and bright. The puppy said, \"I don’t know from where I came, so please tell me, what is my name?\" I paused and considered this spunky little sprite, her fire, her beauty and her indomitable spirit. I knew an ordinary name would not be enough, so I decided to call her \"Little Miss Hot Stuff.\" Little Miss Hot Stuff is no longer a puppy. Everyone can see she is quite the Little Lady when she enters the show ring with style and grace. Pure joy is written all over her face as she waits patiently for her turn around the ring with Ariel. Early in the planning stage, we knew we wanted to hire a Andrea Hobe, Suzanne O’Malley & Jenny Scheytt, judge and trial secretary that were friendly, liked Beardies Committee Chairs and had a great sense of humor! We were so blessed to have Tina Eastman as our trial secretary and Abbie Han- son as our judge. They both went above and beyond to put the “special” in specialty. Abbie’s courses were open and flowing, yet fun and challenging. Abbie clearly enjoys what she does and there was applause and laughter all day long. Sunday offered FAST (25/53 dogs qualified – 47% Q rate), JWW (20/62 dogs qualified – 32% Q rate) and Standard (23/61 dogs qualified – 38% Q rate). Monday offered FAST (21/50 dogs qualified – 42% Q rate), JWW (12/65 dogs qualified – 18% Q rate), Standard (19/61 dogs qualified – 31% Q rate) and T2B (14/31 dogs qualified – 45% Q rate). After the regular classes were finished on Monday, it was time for the annual BAD Relay. As always, it was very entertaining! Committee members John Youngblood and Sheila Franklin decided to change up the format of the relay this year. Similar to the USDAA Dam Relay, teams were made up of three dogs/handlers but each team member ran a different course, running for the fastest overall time. The courses were made of mostly tunnels with a jump for the first and last obstacle of each individual course. Ribbons were given to 1st - 4th placements and the fastest all-veterans team. Finally, Jenny Scheytt had organized Glory Runs to high- Cathy Cox & Letty light our older and retired Beardies. They ran the same course as the Relay, but without any bars on the jumps.
