On our cover ZACK MBIS MBISS GCHP CaCH Dunhill Steeler Nation ROM What a way to celebrate the Bearded Collie Club of America's 50th Anniversary! Words can’t describe the feelings we felt once again when Zack was chosen as Best of Breed from a field of quality dogs. As the breeders of this amazing boy, experiencing back to back National Specialty wins is a true honor. Zack never disappoints, he always gives 100% and has fun doing it. Our most sincere thanks to International breeder judge Caroline Nicholson, Shilstone Bearded Collies, for awarding Zack this Breed from the Veteran class. We would like to congratulate all the other winners and thank the Carolinas Bearded Collie Club and Show Committee for putting on a great specialty. Also spe- cial thanks to co-owners Valerie and Scott Shafer and Team Zack, Katie and Adam Bernardin, without whom all this would not have been possible. Finally, to Zack, Zack-Man, Zackery, we love you. You have been a thrill to watch and a pure joy to have in our lives. You are one in a million! Editor’s Letter Congratulations to those who received placements at this year’s National Specialty. This issue is dedicated to the event and many have advertised their wins. We have full coverage of the Specialty with a six-page color photo essay designed by Chet Jezierski. Chet has a talent for capturing spontaneous moments with his camera and the essay is one of the highlights of the issue. Karen Adamson and Joe DuPont provided photography for the Garden State specialty photo essay and Karen sponsored the upgrate to color. In this issue, we pay respect to two pioneers of our breed, Virginia Parsons and Chris Walkowicz, who recently passed. Virginia was active in tracking, obedience, conformation and was considered one of the Beardie Pioneers.Chris contributed to the breed with her breeding program, judging, writing and being a mentor. We continue our efforts to make the digital Beardie Bulletin available to AKC bearded collie judges. I recently received two more requests from judges to be placed on our subscription list. We send new and permit Bearded Collie judges an invitation to view the magazine. Below there is a correction from our last issue’s Brag Section; apologies to Kathy DeFino for switching the photos of her two beautiful Beardies. The next issue will feature the Stud Dog section that will be in color, at $40.00 per stud dog. There will be four ads to a page. I hope to see lots of submissions for this popular section.
