On Our Cover... BIS MBISS GCHB CaCH Sweetwater’s Blue Ribbon CGCThe boy I only imagined came into my life on June 12, 2013. He is sweet. He is confident. He is amusing. He is willing to try anyadventure. He is beautiful. Along the way, from the night of his birth, we have had the support of special friends. To have beenawarded Best of Breed by respected breeder judges at two Canadian National Specialties, two GSBCC Specialties and now the BCCANational Specialty is certainly more than a breeder could ever imagine. In addition he has also won an all breed BIS, RBIS andnumerous group placements. I only have to look as far as the dogs in his pedigree to understand why I am so lucky to have bred him. Thank you to thosededicated breeders who trusted me to to begin and continue this journey. I would also like to thank Graeme, who helped bring him into this world, co-bred his sire and showed him to four Specialty wins. Thanks to Derek Beatty for his commitment to Pabst and his respect of my wishes. We were thrilled when Ribbon was selected Best Veteran in Sweeps. I could only have dreamed that her son would finish out theweek by going Best of Breed! Thank you to Breeder Judge Michelle Ritter for this amazing honor. Debbie & Larry FurlowEditor’s Letter Congratulations to all the winners and those who received special awards at the 2017 National Specialty held at Purina Farms. Iheard that the Specialty was very successful and was enjoyed by many who attended. As we do every year, we have a section thathighlights all venues of the Specialty, as well as a four-page photo essay designed by Chet. The next issue is our Stud Dog issue (Winter 2018) and will be closing February 15, 2018. We will have a Stud Dog Section sameas we did last year. Many had discussed the section on Facebook and stated that they would have advertised their dog if they knew thesection was available. I am NOW alerting you that it will be available in the next issue, and I hope you participate. It is a great wayfor all of us to review dogs for our breeding program. We will send a mail chimp reminder early January, and hope you takeadvantage of this section if you have a male Bearded Collie who is available for stud services. For those Beardies attending Westminster Kennel Club and the AKC National Championship shows, do us proud! We hope to seeone of you in Best In Show competition, or better yet, the Best In Show winner! Lillian Esposito EditorFall 3017 Specialty Issue 3

Eliza CH Ramsgrove Well Travelled hic rom February 3, 2006 ~ October 19, 2017 Outstanding in the show ring as well as in the whelping box, you leave me with so many incredible memories of our time together. I thought we had so much more to share, but I turned around and you were gone! Run free, my sweet girl, until we meet again. Oh how I loved you so! My deepest appreciation to Wendy Hines, Ramsgrove, for the honor of her company. Owned and deeply missed by: Susan Lybrand Layout by brucebgrant.com
