WELCOME ON BOARD PROFLIGHT Dear Customer, Those of you that travel with Proflight on a regular basis will have noticed that our CRJ jet has now been fully branded in the Proflight livery. The process of having this type of aircraft certified in Zambia will be complete in February 2016 and at that time the aircraft will come onto the Zambian register. These developments, together with the certification of two Proflight pilots and 5 cabin attendants is a very exciting development for the entire Proflight Team. The Aviation Sector is not immune to the headwinds that the economy in general is feeling. We have noticed a significant decline in demand on our business and mining routes; Solwezi, Ndola and Kitwe. Reluctantly we have made the decision to “mothball” Kitwe from January 2016. Copperbelt demand will be carefully monitored and, when appropriate, the route will be re-introduced. I would like to thank everyone that has used this service and we look forward to reintroducing these flights in the future. The introduction of our first International Jet Route, Durban, has been an exciting process. Thank you to all that have used this service and supported the new route. In the currently difficult economic climate I would ask all Zambian travellers who need to travel to Durban to think seriously about using Proflight. We have a great product with a Zambian Smile but at the same time the full value of your journey will stay in the Zambian Economy. The 190 Proflight employess will be spending their salaries in Zambian Businesses and Proflight will be paying Zambian suppliers, this all contributes to the local economy. When you buy a ticket on a foreign carrier the impact on the local economy is far lower. In these difficult times we all need to think about “buying local” to help our own economy. Once again my sincere thanks to all our valued customers, your custom is really appreciated and we look forward to continuing to serve you in 2016. Tony 8

What better way to reflect on the year ahead than the volcanic island of Mauritius situated in the Indian Ocean? Mauritius is an island brimming with abundant activities including snorkeling, visiting tea plantations, temples and more. It is most known for the dodo bird which is now extinct, as a popular wedding and honeymoon destination and now as Africa’s third country to have a female president, who happens to be a marine biologist and committed to protecting the vast flora and fauna of the country. The mix of cultures is reflected in their cuisine which features spectacular curries, sugar cane drinks and of course, one of Mauritius main exports of rum. 15

Natasha returned home to Zambia after completing a BA honors degree in Illustration at the Arts Institute of Bournemouth, England. Whilst currently very busy raising 4 small children, Natasha attempts to keep working and making art alongside designing for her collection of ‘Art Lamps’. Natasha has also exhibited in a handful of group exhibitions in Lusaka including a solo exhibition in 2011. Natasha’s work includes abstract as well as literal elements. She uses a mix of techniques and is inspired to make pieces that have an abstracted quality but have relatable elements be it pictorial or by using photography or text. She tries to maintain a balance between strength in aesthetic appeal and concept. She likes to combine drawing and painting skill with less used processes and techniques to create interesting texture and to add interest and question about creative processes and the different ways of making pictures.
