HERITAGE HISTORYThe Royal Connaught Boat club, 148 years old, wasestablished in 1868 under the name “Poona BoatClub” on the scenic banks of Mula-Mutha Riverlocated in the heart of Pune city.The club was renamed as “Poona Royal ConnaughtClub” in 1889 to honor the Royal His Highness theDuke of Connaught, the commander-in-chief ofBombay Army. In 1928, the Club’s name was changedto “Royal Connaught Boat Club”.It has been home to many outstanding sportspersonalities and has been providing excellentfacilities like Sailing, Boating, Rowing, Billiards,Tennis Court, Table Tennis, Card Room, SwimmingPool, Health Club and Children’s Park.
