Allzone Management Solutions News Letter – March’2016 NEVER USE 59 MODIFIER ALONG WITH NEW MODIFIER X-{EPSU}. The main thing to remember here is, never code 59 modifier with new modifiers X-{EPSU}. Modifier 59 is not specific and should be use only when the procedures or the scenario does not qualify to use new modifiers. It’s also important to remember that modifier 59 should not be attached to an E/M service. Continue using 59 modifier. Do not get confuse that we will not use modifier 59 because we have new modifiers X-{EPSU). The new modifiers have introduced to increase the specificity to provide information that is more specific.Four New Modifiers to Use Instead of Modifier 59 - XE, XS, XP & XU Modifier XE - Separate Encounter : A service that is distinct because it occurred during a separate encounter Modifier XP - Separate Practitioner: A service that is distinct because it was performed by a different practitioner Modifier XS - Separate Structure: A service that is distinct because it was performed on a separate organ/structure Modifier XU - Unusual Non-Overlapping Service: The use of a service that is distinct because it does not overlap usual components of the main service

He climbed onto the carton so that he could reach the buttons on the phone and proceeded to punch in seven digits (phone numbers). The store- owner observed and listened to the conversation. Boy: ‘Lady, Can you give me the job of cutting your lawn? Woman: (at the other end of the phone line): ‘I already have someone to cut my lawn.’Boy: Lady, I will cut your lawn for half the price of the person who cuts your lawn now Woman: I’m very satisfied with the person who is presently cutting my lawn.Boy: (with more perseverance) : ‘Lady, I’ll even sweep your curb and your sidewalk, so on Sunday you will have the prettiest lawn in all of Palm beach , Florida.’ Woman: No, Thank you. With a smile on his face, the little boy replaced the receiver.
