ENGLISH ARTICLES Are we really empowered? The existence of womanhood on earth has same meaning and divination as that of manhood, but unfortunately we talk of women empowerment and not man empowerment. It is because of negligence and exploitation of the feminine gender and undue male domination. Empowerment is about having or taking more control over all aspects of your life. Women empowerment refers to the creation of an environment for women where they can make decisions of their own for their personal benefits as well as for the society. In Deepika Padukone’s(actress) video “My Choice” about women empowerment the video chose to talk about topics which are plain bizarre instead of talking about rape, female feticide, domestic violence, harassment at workplace, pay gap, the intrusive male gaze or a million other issues that a woman has to deal with everyday. Do you think having sex outside marriage is her good choice? Is she having any rights to spoil the life of her partner? The answer is “NO”. After knowing about this he also had a choice to destroy both of their lives but he didn’t go with my choice he went with the right choice. Having a baby or not is as much a woman’s choice as a man’s. Men do not have advantage in society. I believe women are always at an advantage. The rate of committing suicide in men is 4X the rate of women commit. Your choices affect others be careful about what you say and do it’s not always about you. Our real goal should not only be to empower women but to create a “GENDER NEUTRAL SOCIETY”. No matter whether it is men or women empowerment anything that goes against the essence of development will have its own repercussions. The real problem is understanding the word ‘feminism’. Women are more superior in every field, they are more smart etc. this is not what feminism is feminism means treating both the gender equally and not to judge any gender by stereotype. The aim of feminism is to ensure men and women are equal. That’s the world I want. Not the one where my(women) empowerment comes at the cost of your(men) pain. 103

CHOWDHARY. MANALI. LAXMIKANT S. Y. BSc-CS FINANCE DIRECTOR IS A BACKBONE OF THE CLUB “Finance is the art of passing currency from hand to hand until it finally disappears.\" The management of large amounts of money, especially by governments or large companies is done by finance director. If we trace the origin of finance, there is evidence to prove that it as old as human life on earth. The word finance was originally a French word. In the 18th Century, it was adapted by English speaking communities to mean “his management of money”. Since then, it has found a permanent place in the English Dictionary. Today, finance is not merely a word else has emerged into an academic discipline of greater significance. Finance is now organized as a branch of Economics. Furthermore, the one word which can easily replace finance is “EXCHANGE.\" Finance is nothing but an exchange of available resources. Finance is not restricted only to the exchange and/or management of money. A barter trading system is also a type of finance. Thus, we can say, Finance is an art of managing various available resources like money, assets, investments, securities, etc. At present, we cannot imagine a world without Finance. In other words, Finance is the soul of our economic activities. To perform any economic activity, we need certain resources, which are to be pooled in terms of money. Finance is a prerequisite for obtaining physical resources, which are needed to perform productive activities and carrying business operations such as sales, pay compensations, reserve for contingencies (unascertained liabilities) and so on. Hence, Finance has now become an organic function and inseparable part of our day-to-day lives. Today, it has become a word which we often encounter on our daily basis. A financial director is the person in the company or agency who manages all its financial affairs. Finance Director needs excellent financial management skills, with the ability to communicate complex financial information to both finance professionals and non-specialists. They may be familiar with database technologies software for financial analysis and reporting. To think strategically and make effective club decisions, finance director must have an excellent track record in financial management and strong commercial experience. They must have to be good team players with management skill to lead to finance department. Finance director is the one who manages all the money and money related affairs of the club. The post of Finance director holds lots of duties and responsibility in the club. Finance director keeps the note of income gained and expenses incurred for the club. He has to also manage accounting and financial control function and establishes a financial strategy for the profitable long term growth of the clubs. They set budgets and close and work closely with other club members to ensure the income and expenditure remains within the target, preparation of monthly and yearly financial reports to determine total income and expenses. Even the financial report at every end of the project is prepared by him. At the end of the year the director may also be asked to prepare the 104

mail. No matter what business you’re in every club have bills that need to be categorized and paid on time. The finance director keeps the track of various bills, develops on organizational system that illustrates the bills, amount due and due-date so that management can easily approved any necessary expenditure. As finance director does all the above given work, duties and activities so the club or any institution or business money affairs without finance director is impossible to function. They thus play an important and crucial role in the club, are counted in core committee members of the club. That is the reason finance director is backbone of the club.
