Immediate relief measures Plans for the existing inventory Long term plan for production and sale of goods

Immediate relief measures: • A minimum amount of Rs.1500-2000/- must be remitted through their e-wallet or bank accounts (government/CSR of corporates/individual donors/crowd funding). • Adopt a weaver campaign by designers, corporates, individuals and private businesses. • As an immediate relief, no weaver shall go hungry or be deprived of healthcare and general medications. • No weaver must be lured or turned into a casual labour or factory labour.

Plans for the existing inventory: • Procurement of the already made fabrics through direct purchases by the APCO /TSCO. • Opportunities to be created in an aggressive manner to get the products online at fair prices for sales to happen. • An online repository needs to be created for all the weavers to be listed with their complete details of weaving expertise, production capacity and economic conditions.

Long term plan for production and sale of goods: • Encouraging and engaging the next generation of weavers to continue the age-old family tradition of weaving and woven arts and crafts. • There needs to be a complete study as what will be the consumption patterns of the consumers, as fabric is no more a need. • Training weavers on new product design and developments in collaboration with design studios and colleges as there will be change in consumption. • Skill development and up gradation according to the new need of the world. • Domestication of products rather than exports.



Through Kaumudi Studio she wishes to take up: • Adopt a weaver campaign by friends and well-wishers as an immediate relief, no weaver shall go hungry or be deprived of healthcare and general medications.



As a part of the Adopt A Weaver campaign we have compiled a list of 20 weavers who are licensed weavers who have authorized bank accounts. More will be added to this list as we gather information. Request you to kindly donate directly to the bank accounts (we will share them on your email separately) so that the artisans will hold ground till all social and economic activities begin.
