Respected Mentor The Learners of Class VIII, IX, X, and XII brought laurels to the School by being listed among the top 500 students out of 2.04 Lakh entries received from all over India in ISRO Cyber Space Competitions. The entries had been sent in ICC 2020 model making, essay writing competitions in English and Hindi, and Space Quiz. Rajat and Aditya Gupta (Class VIII) (in ICC 2020 model making), Siya Aggarwal of class IX (English Essay writing competition), Chaitanya and Shreya of class IX (Hindi essay writing competition), and Himanshi Vaishnav of class XII featured among the top 500 in Space Quiz respectively. They will shortly receive Meritorious Certificates. The School was among the top 05 Schools of the City to receive the Green School Award 2020, which included a Certificate, Trophy, and a Cash Prize of Rs. 5000/- at the hands of Sh. Debendra Dalai, IFS, Director, Department of Environment, Chief Conservator of Forests, CEO, CREST, and Vice-Chairman, CCPC (Chandigarh Pollution Control Committee, Department of Environment, Chandigarh Administration) in recognition of the Activities undertaken by the School’s Eco Club during this period of Pandemic. The School Initiative to provide Education for Sustainable Thinking and Action among the young students was recognized on the International Day of Peace on 21st September 2020 at Paryavaran Bhavan, Sector-19-B, Chandigarh. 1|Page

Marking the International Day for the Preservation of Ozone Layer from 10th – 15th September 2020, Learners of Class VIII TO X participated enthusiastically in an Online Quiz organized by the South Asian Meteorological Association (SAMA) jointly with the Indian Meteorological Department, Indian Meteorological Society, and Vigyan Prasar under DST, Govt. of India. The quiz was open for students from South Asian countries. Manvi Goel and Aditya Gupta of class VIII; Aryan Gautam and Varun Pant of class IX were selected among the top 10% of students from India to receive Meritorious certificates. 100 Learners from Class VIII participated in the Online Quiz Competition organised by the South Asian Meteorological Association (SAMA) jointly with the India Meteorological Department (IMD), Indian Meteorological Society (IMS), and Vigyan Prasar under the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India. The quiz was conducted by Vidyarthi Vigyan Manthan from10th to 15th September 2020. 2|Page

The Department of School Education and Literacy, Ministry of Education, Govt. of India, celebrates the month of September 2020 as POSHAN MAAH under POSHAN Abhiyan (National Nutrition Mission). Online competitions on Food and Nutrition are being organized for the students using the MyGov portal. 50 Learners from Class VIII-X have enthusiastically participated and received a Certificate of Participation. 3|Page

The Year 2020 is being dedicated to the 35 years of the Vienna Convention and 35 years of Global Ozone Layer Protection. The energy emanating from the sun would be too much for life on Earth to thrive, were it not for the ozone layer. This stratospheric layer shields Earth from most of the sun’s harmful ultraviolet radiation. Sunlight makes life possible, but the ozone layer makes life as we know possible! (Source: UN) 16th September 2020 was celebrated as the World Ozone Day. The Slogan 'Ozone for Life' was translated under Two Themes by the Department of Environment, Chandigarh, which conducted Poster Making and Video Making competitions for Learners from Class VIII-X. 4|Page

Class I Learners learnt the importance of Role Play on Occupations by Learners eating Healthy Food on 26th September 2020 of Class III on 16th September 2020 helped learners to pick up their dream careers. On the experiential learning activity - ‘Young Anchors at work’- Class II worked on their communication skills and enacted as Anchors to highlight the current affairs, weather prediction on 11th September 2020 5|Page

The Fun Way to Learn Math Experiments are a great way of analyzing how well one understands a subject and also to correlate the theoretical knowledge with its practical application in real life. It encourages students to stretch their knowledge horizons and look beyond what they are taught in class. To instill experiential learning and encourage a fun way of learning mathematics among students, The Mathematics Club organized Experiential And Joyful Learning Through Mathematics In The World of Mensuration from September 7th- 11th for Class VIII Learners. The students enthusiastically experimented on finding the volume of the cylinder through the material available at home. The objective was to enable the learners to think out of the box, improving their knowledge and learning, besides building creative thinking and promoting problem-solving skills. 6|Page

We Caught the Rainbow! Learners of Class VIII performed Science experiments from 1st – 7th September 2020, showing the reversal of arrows when seen through a glass of water, rainbow formation in a room using water, mirror, and torchlight. They also observed lenses used in spectacles of their family members like father, mother, siblings, and grandparents. They observed the shape of lenses and compared them with the picture available in the book. In the process, they also analysed the working of lenses, i.e., lens used for viewing nearby objects or distant objects, as well as those used for reading purpose. They drew various ray diagrams showing the path of light through various media. The experience was engaging as it was enriching! Role play was performed by the students of Class VIII-D to put before the audience the lesson ‘The Luncheon’. Enacting in Groups, the virtual platform was put to use. The School’s Literary Club aim is to develop speaking skills, conflict resolution skills, enhance reading comprehension, and strengthened the communication abilities of the students. 8|Page

The School observed Hindi Diwason 14th September 2020 to commemorate the day on which India adopted Hindi as its official language. To highlight the importance of Hindi as ‘Matra Bhasha’, students of Primary and Middle Section participated in Kavita Gayan, Nibandh, and Bhashan Pratiyogita. The students of Secondary Classes participated in Slogan writing, Poetry writing, and Card making Competitions. The Students of Middle Wing made Posters depicting their love for the Language. Our Mother Tongue is spoken by around 258 million people and is recognized as the fourth ‘Most Spoken Language’ in the World. The celebration concluded on a positive note. 9|Page

Pre- Primary Wing conducted collage making of great Indian leaders for the young learners of Kindergarten. The tender hearts were enlightened about our national heroes who fought and laid down their lives to secure our Independence. Besides inculcating the feeling of patriotism amongst our tiny tots, the Activity aimed at enhancing their fine motor and creative skills. 10 | P a g e

Class I put on their Dancing Shoes on 11th September 2020. The Winners are all Smiles! The much awaited Teacher’s Day was celebrated on 5th September 2020 through an array of activities. Learners made cards, recorded videos, sent messages, both written and spoken, to make their Mentors feel special. Compiled PPTs of leaners’ Expressions were showcased at a webinar, much to the delight of their Teachers. The Learners spoke for their Teachers, through the Virtual medium marking their affection and respect for the Edu- Warriors. The School also expressed its admiration for the Teaching Staff through a Digital Greeting Card. 11 | P a g e

Mrs. Beenu Malhotra, TGT English and Ms. Geeta Harnal, PRT SST, received Appreciation Certificates in the National level ‘Online teaching innovation awards 2020’ competition on the Theme ‘ Finding Opportunity In Adversity’ organized by Hansraj Public School, Sector 6, Panchkula on the occasion of Teacher’s Day. The Parent Teacher Meeting on 19th September 2020 after the commencement of the Periodic Test II/ 2nd Unit Test/ 1st Assessment brought forth the Feedback from the Parents, who are our Stakeholders as well. The undersigned was nominated as the IC member 1 for VIOS by CBSE Affiliation Unit for three schools, namely DPS International School, Gorakhpur, U.P, AAA International School, Sivakasi, Tamil Nadu, and Gyananda School for Girls, Dehradun on 2nd, 4th, and 7th September 2020 respectively. The experience was a good learning experience. This was followed by her being appointed as City Coordinator for NEET UG 2020 for 08 City Schools on 13th September 2020.
