Joy may handily be defined as “the settled assurance that God is in control of all the details of my life, the quite confidence that ultimately everything is going to be alright and the determined choice to praise God in every situation. “God is Perfect Father and Protector During this family year the Valentine’s Day can be a beautiful feast for us , since it presents the opportunity to celebrate the truth about love . After all , the narrative of the Bible is the best love story ever told. And the greatest proof of love was given to us by Jesus Christ. He gave himself up entirely and poured out his blood for us . This is what Bishop Valentine, as a saint of the Catholic Church , inspires us to live out today in our lives.

The Patron Saint of Love Hello friends! Do you know what is the special celebration of February? It is Valentine’s Day. But do you know the real celebration of Valentine’s Day? It is the feast day of St Valentine. But who is St Valentine? St. Valentine was a Roman priest who suffered martyrdom during the persecution of Christians by the emperor Claudius around AD 270. The story tells that St. Valentine was imprisoned for helping Christian couples to get married and aiding Christians being persecuted by Claudius in Rome. There is a story of a blind girl named Julia who was healed by the prayers of St. Valentine. St. Valentine is the Patron Saint of, engaged couples, happy marriages, love, lovers and young people. His feast day is February 14. Bible quotes about Valentine’s Day as follows: “Beloved, let us love each other, because love is of God. Everyone who loves is begotten by God and knows God. 8 Whoever is without love does not know God, for God is love. 9 In this way the love of God was revealed to us: He sent his only Son into the world so that we could have life through him.”

Spiritual Life of Youth hood Religion and faith shape youth’s life to get them through their troubles and give them another purpose in life. Children from a young age are placed into Catechism and attend mass, but they never understand their point or purpose. As they grow older and learn more, they look for religion to help them, starting their spiritual life. As a small child, you do not pray to God or attend mass because you want to, you do it, but you do not understand why you should do it. But as children go through CCD, they learn about the importance of prayer, why they should use it, when they should use it, and the whole purpose. They start to use it more for different reasons as they know about it to do well on a test. They begin to use prayer and eventually find their purpose of worship, which begins their spiritual life. When going through childhood, people face many problems in school, life, and more, so they look for ways to relieve those issues by praying. While praying to God, they look for his help and guidance for life, which gets kids to serve God as he helps them. When children become spiritual, they want to continue serving God to keep faith that life is going to be good and they will have help. As the youth become more spiritual, they change to become better people. They feel empathy for others, are responsible towards society, have more patience, and seek to help the less privileged. They become better through faith and religion as they want to continue serving God by being a good person. As the youth become more spiritual every day, they become a part of a society, whether it is a church where they can have fun and grow relationships with other people. Spirituality helps us find mental peace and contentment. We learn to be mindful of what we are doing and what we see. Faith gives youth the mental strength to get through failures and challenges. By learning about faith and religion from a young age, children will start to incorporate them into their lives; thereby, they start their spiritual life and use them to become better people. - Leon Nedumcheril

WORLD DAY OF THE SICK Every year on February 11th, World Day of the Sick offers a way for the Catholic Church to come together and pray for those who are suffering from sickness. It’s also a day to remember the caregivers and hospital chaplains who look after those who are ill. No person in the world is immune from sickness. Some people are born with a birth defect that causes sickness throughout their lifetime. Others are given the bad news that they have a chronic illness. Sometimes it’s known what causes certain sicknesses, and sometimes the cause is never determined. Sickness is something the world has lived with since the beginning of time. All throughout history, there are accounts of people trying to come up with cures for various diseases. Thanks to modern science and technology, diagnosing and treating sickness has greatly improved. However, there is still a ways to go as there are many incurable diseases throughout the world. Sometimes, it’s not science, however, that comes up with a cure. The Catholic Church, and many other Christians throughout the world, believe that prayer can heal the sick. This is why the Pope feels it is important to remember those who are sick and to pray for them. When Pope John Paul II came up with this day he said he wanted it to be a special time of caring and sharing. He also reminded everyone to see in their sick brother or sister, “the face of Christ who by suffering, dying, and rising, achieved the salvation of mankind.”
