Is it really February already? This is the busiest month here at Fortuna De Oro. Between the 5k walk, the annual organized Bike RIDE, Hiking Club, Fiber Arts, Golf, the new fitness room and let’s not forget Pickleball there is a lot going on here. I have heard that most all other resorts in Yuma do not have activities this year, so we say welcome to the first time visitors who came searching for fun things to do in Yuma. Thank you for coming to Fortuna De Oro year after year and thank you for telling your friends about this wonderful place to spend the winter. If you have suggestions for us or concerns, we want to hear about them. In the past we have always said, “our door is always open” but since this year we have no contact office we want you to know that we still want to hear from you. Our ears are always open. Call us at the office or send us an email. Please continue to stay socially distanced, masked up in all common areas and buildings. We know you are smiling behind those masks. We can see it in your eyes. - Resort Managers Valarie & Gregg Things are busy here in the Activities Office as we prepare for another great season at FDO. If you are new and haven’t met me at one of our Coffee & Donuts or any of our other events, my name is Stacey and I’m your new Activities Director. We hope that you enjoy this month’s newsletter which is what we consider your resort guide to all things “activities”. Inside you will find detailed information on events and activities that we make available to our resort residents only. As I mentioned, February is shaping up to be an active month with our Annual Bike Ride planned, Opening Day Softball Game, Pancake Breakfast, daily Happy Hours at the North Pool, Valentine’s Day and Mardi Gras festivities. We look forward to seeing you at each of these activities and encourage you to wear your mask at all Cal-Am sponsored events, practice social distancing of 6’ or more and wash your hands. By taking these small steps, we can continue to provide you fun, safe activities through- out the season. Activities Director—Stacey 3
