EVOKE THE DIVINE through the POETRY OF RUMI LIVING WELLNESS and the TOPANGA LIBRARY ‘Sounds of the Sacred, Songs of the Earth’ Profound intention opens the way for unlimited possibility Ney Flute player, Nazim Ozel, performing with his original instrument, THE TREE When was the last time you allowed your imagination to soar with heightened creativity and passion to give forth to your inner dance, your unique soul rhythm? This aware sense of fullness came to Living Wellness’ “WALK ACROSS THE WORLD Global Steps for Unity & Harmony” interactive Autumn performance at the Topanga Library. The storytelling wouldn’t have had all the magic without it’s tribe member, Nazim Ozel, and his deeply imaginative artistic instrument, know as, THE TREE. ‘The Tree’ stood six feet high, four feet wide and over seven feet long. How would this unique sculpture sing?

Nazim began playing his instrument before the curious crowd. He plucked, banged, used a bow, sawed, danced and played with tiny tree puppets among the branches. It was entrancing. Not what our ears could easily describe as ’music’, - it was more an inviting cacophony of sounds in counter-cadence, syncopated rhythms, interrupted before any recognizable melody might erupt. It was an anti-conceptual construct of “song” that remained free of any theme or tempo. We were all enveloped in Nazim’s abstract space of soundscape resonations through natural tree creations. We were bathed in pleasant noises, strummed in a stammering communication, some kind of alternative, EVOKE THE DIVINE through the POETRY OF RUMI audience listening to THE TREE music of the spheres, letting our souls know we are never alone in this multi-dimensional universe
