A useful guide I use with my clients is a palm sized amount of protein (meat, fish, eggs, cheese) a fist size amount of vegetables (as many different colours as you can) a handful of carbs (potatoes, rice, pasta) and a thumb sized amount of fats (oil/nuts/avocado/butter) Eating in this way ensures your body gets all of the nutrients, vitamins and minerals it needs.
