2016: Building Upon a Path of Success... In 2016 the Greater Alabama Council continued building upon the successes of 2015, using the methods that worked and adding innovations to improve our delivery. New Cub Scouts that joined in the Fall of 2016, received a free handbook and a provided a model rocket from the U.S. Space and Rocket Center. Over 2,500 Handbooks Delivered 2,300 Rockets Launched 4,938 Registered Adult Volunteers delivering the Scouting program 3,741 Cub Scout Rank Advancements 2,400 Boy Scout Rank Advancements 13,008 Merit Badges Earned 367 Eagle Scouts 55,452 Hours of Service through Eagle Projects Over 50,000 nights of camping on GAC Property 2,047 Boy Scouts attended a week of summer camp or high adventure base 4,804 Cub Scouts participated in the Cub Outdoor Program 2016 Annual Report.indd 2 3/2/17 12:47 PM
