Income and employment rates  52.9% of residents are employed within Hollinwood  14.4% of residents in Hollinwood are on out of work benefits, This is 3.4% above average then the Oldham borough.  There are 1,055 Out work benefits claimants who are aged between 16-64 years old  The average Hollinwood household generates an income £17,520 per annum this is significantly lower than the Oldham average which is £22,289

Housing  Hollinwood housing is split into three categories owner occupied ,social rented and private rented.  Owner occupied in 2001 was 50.2% in which it declined in 2011 to 46.1%  Social rented in 2001was 40.0% it had a small reduction 2011 to 39.5%  Private rented in 2001 was low at 5/2% but rose significantly to 13.1% in 2011  14.9 % house holds are in fuel poverty, Oldham average 12.1%  Hollinwood is 6 out of 20 wards which indicates there is a financial Hardship in the ward Housing organisations families can contact are regenda, great places Contour and first choice .

Household composition 20.6% household that consist of lone parents but single person residents is at a high of 30.7%. Hollinwood has the highest % of children living in low income families this data is relevant up until 2016

Community Hollinwood consists of 12,000 residents 55% of which are satisfied with the local area though crime reports suggest that Hollinwood is a high crime area at 1847 reported crimes. Most common crimes committed are reported to be  Violence against the person  Theft and handling stolen goods  Criminal damage

Conclusion  In summary,  the employment rates within Hollinwood ward are low which could contributes to financial hardship, which residents could be struggling to meet relevant criteria in the private housing sector. Social housing is already over subscribed and waiting list are never ending.  Unemployment is barrier to securing mortgage or ownership.  when poverty is high crime rises due lack of funding and recourses and this effect outcomes of education this has a negative effect employability in later life.
