TEXT A BOY FROM EGYPT Hello! My name’s Gamal. I am from Egypt. I’m ten years old. I go to ACIC ( American Cairo International College). Let me introduce you to my country. My country is in the north east of Africa. This is our flag. It is red, white and black. We speak Arabic in Egypt. Cairo is the capital city of Egypt. Desert covers almost all of 4 Egypt. Our people get water from the Nile River. (It is the longest river in the world.) Unit 1

The first paper, papyrus, 5 belongs to Egyptians. There are pictures on it. (hieroglyphics) Egypt is also famous for its pyramids. Pyramids are for burying kings and queens. The Pyramid of Khufu at Giza is the largest pyramid. In my country, both Egyptian men and women wear make up. It is really funny. Our cuisine is quite rich. You can taste lots of spicy food here.
