Heritage Lake Community Services Located at Heritage Lake, Indiana Rick Miller, Publisher 26 Gettysburg Coatesville, IN 41621 [email protected] www.hlcs.online 317-766-4118 HLCS is a non-profit 501(c)(4) corporation. Completely independent from the Heritage Lake Property Owner’s Association (HLPOA), but closely joined with them for community goals of communications and overall improvement. The HLCS primary mission is to publish the monthly Heritage Highlights newsletter, and the annual Telephone Directory. We publish our printed magazine style newsletter in print and distribute to 4 newspaper style dispensers located conveniently around the lake area, as well as inside the Marina in season. We print between 400 and 600 copies each month depending on demand. In addition to printed copies, we publish an online viewable version that can be found at our web site or by direct link to the hosting service we use for the flipbook, or page turning view to the newsletter. With approximately 1,500 homes in our community, some year-round residents and some seasonal, our goal is to reach 1,000 or more readers each month with either a printed copy or online. We consistently achieve or exceed that! We make wide use of Social Media, Facebook, and when the newsletter is published each month, links to it are announced in the 3 Facebook News Groups we see as the most popular for our lake. These newsgroups have a following of more than 3,000 users. At the same time we use the HLPOA web site to send an email blast to all home owners in the association announcing the availability of the monthly issue with a link to the newsletter on the HLCS web site. January 1, 2020 we launched our web site in an attempt to expand our reach, offer more and current information as it is happening instead of just monthly. The web site located at www.hlcs.online is also available as a mobile application that works nicely on a smart phone or tablet and can be found and downloaded by searching for HLCS Mobile in the Apple Store or the Googly Play store. We never charge residents for our publications. Though we have significant costs to operate, we rely solely on advertising revenue in our publications and are graced with several loyal and generous advertisers. With one full year of online publishing experience behind us, we can now look back to see how effective our online distribution to viewers actually is and see what they are viewing from all our content. We can and will of course use this to guide us for future content, and to show our advertisers some value for their advertising dollars spent with us. On the following pages are some analytics from 2020 that show viewer response to our online presence.

Following are Analytics our multiple online resources showing the reach during 2020 you might find useful. The following chart shows the number of views from direct access to the publications when links are provided via social media or other methods. Noteworthy is the May issue generated the most online views, suggesting May saw a spike in activity from seasonal readers. In July we published a special edition magazine (online only) promoting the Feast & Ski event at the lake that had 611 views. The following chart shows overall viewer traffic for all of 2020.

This chart shows where visitors to our web site come from The following list shows specific pages viewed during 202. Clearly the Highlights is the most popular page on our site

We post to 2 other groups on Facebook but since I am not the group owner I cannot provide analytics from those.
