VIRTUAL SWACHCHTA PAKWADA ACTIVITIES – CLEANING OF OFFICE AND PERSONAL SPACE

ATOMIC ENERGY CENTRAL SCHOOL – 6, MUMBAI A BRIEF REPORT OF VIRTUAL ACTIVITIES CONDUCTED BY THE PRIMARY SECTION ACADEMIC SESSION 2020 – 2021 The academic session, 2020 – 21 was a year laced with umpteen uncertainties due to the outbreak of the pandemic – COVID 19. The physical classrooms had to be suspended to contain the spread of the pandemic. In spite of this hindrance the school decided to adopt the online platform for the teaching learning process. This endeavour was a huge success. The success of the online teaching process paved the way for the conduct of the virtual activities for the students of the primary section. The initiation of the virtual activities was the formation of the science club – EPISTEME. This was done to foster the scientific temper in the students. The club conducted virtual essay writing & virtual poster making for the students on the occasion of world environment day. To kindle enthusiasm among the students the club also conducted activities such as – virtual science quiz & virtual science exhibition. The club and its activities were coordinated by Mr. Francis P. Aloor PRT (SS) (I/c) & Mrs. Parul Jain PRT (SS) Member. To keep the cultural talents of the students alive during the pandemic, the CCA committee was constituted. The committee conducted virtual activities such as – art competition, essay writing, elocution & recitation. The committee was headed by Mrs. Lucy Antony PRT (SS) supported by Mrs. Sunita D. Sakya PRT (SS) & Mr. Francis P. Aloor PRT (SS). To kindle the fire of patriotism among the students the National Festivals Committee was constituted. The committee conducted virtual activities for the students on the occasion of 15th August – Independence Day. The activities were based on the theme – The Tricolour. The virtual activities included finger print activity for class 2, tricolour paper ball activity for class 3, collage making for class 4 & patriotic song & tricolour salad decoration for class 5. There was a patriotic group song by the staff members of the primary section. To keep the fire of patriotism in high flames, the virtual Republic Day was celebrated on 26th January 2021 by all the classes. Virtual Fancy Dress was conducted for the students of classes 1 & 2 on the theme – Patriotism. These virtual activities were coordinated by Mrs. Sujata Homray PRT (SS), Mrs. Parul Jain PRT (SS) & the class teachers.

Developing the literary talent among the students is the most important aspect of an educational institution. With this intention in mind the English Literary Club was constituted. The club conducted virtual activities such as – reading, story narration, poem recitation for classes 1 & 2. For classes 3, 4 & 5 activities such as essay writing, elocution & debate were conducted. These virtual activities were co-ordinated by Mrs. Sunita Sakya PRT (SS) I/c, Mrs. Lucy Antony PRT (SS), Mrs. Sujata Homray PRT (SS) & Mr. Francis P. Aloor PRT (SS). The Maths club was constituted to enhance the mathematical wizardry among the students. The club conducted the virtual mathematics quiz for classes 4 & 5. The club was headed by Mr. Gopal Krishna PRT (SS) with the support of Mrs. Meenal Patil PRT (SS), Ms. Serifa Pinheiro PRT (SS), Mrs. Parul Jain & Mr. Francis P. Aloor. To instill the importance of cleanliness among the students, the Swachchta Pakwada week was celebrated from 16th Feb. 2021 to 28th Feb. 2021. A slew of virtual activities were conducted such as fancy dress on the theme swachchta, slogan writing, painting & cleaning of personal space. These virtual activities were coordinated by Mrs. Ashwini Manjrekar TGT PET, Mrs. Parul Jain & Mr. Francis P. Aloor. All the above mentioned virtual activities were a huge success due to the wholehearted co-operation of the staff members under the active guidance of the Headmistress, Mrs. Ashwini G. Nagrale with the support of the Principal, Mr. T. Elango. To highlight the importance of Women empowerment & leadership, the international women’s day was celebrated virtually. A virtual lecture was organised for all the staff members by the Headmistress, Mrs. Ashwini G. Nagrale on the theme – Women & Health. This virtual informative lecture was presented and delivered by an eminent gynaecologist – Dr. Ketaki Kulkarni, MD. Obstetrics & Gynaecology, H.O.D. Gynaecology Wadia Hospital. The virtual Annual Day & club activities prize distribution was conducted as a culmination of all the virtual activities for the academic session 2020 – 21. All these virtual activities were a grand success because of the wholehearted enthusiasm and co-operation of the staff members under the active guidance of the Headmistress Mrs. Ashwini G. Nagrale with the support of the Principal, Mr. T. Elango and Vice-principal, Mr. K. R. Rao. AECS – 6, Mumbai expects to scale better horizons in the next academic session, (2021 – 22) in all the virtual activities for students to kindle their enthusiasm, excitement and zeal.

Shri. Joseph M A attended the Second Spell of the In-Service training programme for TGT English at K V SAC, Ahmedabad from 23 Dec, 2019 to 01, January, 2020. Smt. Amla Pradeep Pandit attended the following courses 1.Webinar on: Dealing with Mental and Emotional Stress during COVID19: Lessons from Scriptures organized by the Department of Sciences and Humanities, Kengeri Campus on the 23 July 2020. 2. Evolution from offline to online Teaching organised by Satish Pradhan Dnyanasadhana College Thane from 30th May 2020 to 3rd June 2020 3. Online Quiz in English Grammar organized by CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Banga- lore Shri. KR Rao Vice-Principal, attended a training conducted by Bangalore Sahodaya School Complex.
