Free and accessible to everyone, the Festival examines the human experience through the reflections and imaginations of distinguished contemporary authors from across the globe. JLF DOHA In celebration of the 2019 Qatar- India Year of Culture, Qatar National Library presents a unique opportunity to collaborate with Teamwork Arts, the producer of the Jaipur Literature Festival, to create a JLF-Doha partnership to reach art and literature lovers in the Qatar community. JLF Doha would be the first JLF satellite in the Gulf region. JLF Doha will be organized between 12 – 14 December 2019 at Qatar National Library, a cultural landmark promoting cultural diversity, understanding and global access to information. 16

THE MEDIA RUMBLE Teamwork Arts partnered with Newslaundry in July 2017 to curate the inaugural edition of The Media Rumble (TMR), a forum for the exchange of ideas related exclusively to the news media. The first edition of TMR, held at New Delhi’s Bikaner House over two days, had a footfall of over 3500, 50 acclaimed speakers including world-renowned journalists such as Michael Rezendes and Suki Kim, 13 informative and enlightening sessions covering both traditional and new media through discussions on the three pillars of modern media: technology, content, and the economics of news. MAHINDRA KABIRA FESTIVAL The sixth edition of the Mahindra Kabira Festival, to be held between 18-20 November 2022, will once more celebrate philosophy, heritage and musical intensity. Kabira is an immersive experience and allows participants to focus their senses and spirit on the calm within the chaos of the world’s oldest city and feel that inexpressible “oneness amongst diversity” preached by Kabir, through the unrivalled power of music, literature and the arts. Living up to its theme of inclusion, CELEBRATING INDIA’S Mahindra Kabira Festival 2018 once FAMOUS AND LEGENDARY again celebrated the philosophy POET KABIR WITH MUSIC, of the 15th century mystic, Kabir DANCE AND DIALOGUE and brought to music-lovers an unforgettable experience in Varanasi, the city of his birth. Leading exponents from classical, Sufi and folk traditions mesmerised the audience in an ambience redolent with history on the ghats by the river Ganga. Sessions on art and literature inspired by Kabir, specially curated walks through the myriad lanes and bylanes of this ancient city, with famous local residents playing gracious hosts for guests and delectable local cuisine were all integral parts of the Mahindra Kabira experience. 26

With the aim of transcending borders, genres and prejudices, a variety of music genres come together on the same platform, along with exciting collaborations between diverse artistes, The Stage, running parallel to the Jaipur Literature Festival, will present – apart from some breathtaking evenings of performances – workshops, masterclasses, talks and sessions, giving music-lovers a chance to interact with musicians, learn more about instruments and nuances within musical genres. The Jaipur Music Stage is more than just a place for literature-enthusiasts to unwind after an exhilarating day of talks: it is a musical confluence, opening audiences up to new sounds. A music market with a range of merchandise including instruments, music technology, music from Indie music labels and other paraphernalia, will add sizzle to this unique medley of the popular and the subtle. 28

UNDER THE BANYAN TREE ON A FULL MOON NIGHT Delhi’s iconic music club, Friends of Music (FoM), set up in 1994, has continued to create a thriving language of live music. Carrying forward the feel-good tradition of celebrating and enjoying music with friends and family in an intimate setting, Friends of Music, a Teamwork Arts initiative, brings together musicians and discerning audiences in a community to explore, create and enjoy new sounds. Under the FoM aegis, Under the Banyan Tree on a Full Moon Night is a unique concert series that forefronts rich and diverse music through an eclectic mix of artists and sounds from all over India. Audiences get the chance to witness performances by musicians under the tranquil repose of a banyan tree with minarets of the iconic Qutub Minar as the backdrop. INDIA BY THE BOSPHORUS Turkey, at the cusp of Europe, Asia and the Middle East, is a land of enigma, rich in the legacy of its history and art, just like India. The first edition of ‘India by the Bosphorus’ celebrated India’s indomitable cultural matrix through diverse expressions of art with a programme rich in music, dance, poetry, textiles, fashion, cinema and photography. With an opening by the legendary Indian violin virtuoso Dr L. Subramaniam in concert with the Presidential Symphony Orchestra Ankara, the festival was a resounding success across multiple cities and venues and featured designer Tarun Tahiliani’s newest couture collection and an exhibition of rare archival photographs of Mahatma Gandhi commemorating his 150th birth anniversary, curated by Aditya Arya. India by the Bosphorus showcased the consonance between India and Turkey through diverse expressions of art creating a space for rich dialogue and multi-faceted cultural exchange. 40

The festival is a platform for promoting mutual understanding and cultural exchange between India and Hong Kong.
