PALLAVI MODEL SCHOOL BODUPPAL www.pallavimodelschools.org | 1800 212 111111 DECEMBER NEWS LETTER 2021

DREAM BIG The dawn of new year is always a time to celebrate life, love and prosperity. It is the time to rewind, unwind and revisit our goals and aspirations. As Dr APJ Abdul Kalam reiterated having a small aim is crime, we need to have bigger dreams. Having a bigger dream will motivate a person to go that extra mile and strive to materialize his wishes and dreams. Even if we have not achieved the goal, we will have the satisfaction of aiming high. Here I am reminded of Ms Arunima Sinha who despite all odds could reach the summit of Everest because she was not complacent with just walking after such a is accident. She had her eyes on the Everest. When we go on a journey, we will always have our destination in mind and this provides a direction. In the same manner a goal/ a dream becomes a rudder to sail through life satisfactorily. Otherwise, it becomes a rudderless boat. So aim high and realize all your aspirations and dreams with a lot of joy and happiness.

The Glowing Necklace by Sai Pranitha 3H Pallavi Model School, Boduppal. Once a upon a time there was a palace which was called Manibhag . The king’s name was Sudarshan and the queen’s name was Lakshita. Sudarshan was noble whereas Lakshita was very rude. One day the King Sudarshan went to a morning walk, suddenly he found a glowing necklace and the king thought that if he gifts this necklace to Lakshita, she will be happy. The king went to the palace and gave the glowing necklace to his wife. Lakshita was very happy. Sudarshan said “Lakshita, this is a glowing necklace and I am sure you will love it” Lakshita was very happy and she went and wore the necklace but she was very angry that the necklace did not glow. The queen said “Oh, you silly necklace! Why are you not glowing?” The Necklace replied “Oh. Queen you are not worth of me and also, my glow will be visible only to the person who is kind. The queen was very angry. An old woman came to the queen and said “Madam, Can you please give me alms?” The queen ignored the old woman. But the headman’s daughter gave the woman some food and water. The old lady gave a necklace to the headman’s daughter. The arrogant queen quietly watched. But to Lakshita’s surprise the necklace glowed when the headman’s daughter wore it. Lakshita got very angry and she went to her friend and asked her for a way to trap the headman’s daughter. The queen’s friend gave her a poisonous sweet. The queen disguised as an old lady and approached the headman’s daughter and said “what is your name? I want to give you this sweet” The headman’s daughter said “my name is Deepthika and if you insist me to eat then I will eat” as soon as Deepthika ate it, she fainted. The old lady came back to her original form. The queen stole the necklace which was on Deepthika’s neck. The queen did not know that a cobbler was watching all this. The cobbler went to the king’s palace and said “Dear king, I hesitate to say this but your wife is not a good person”. The cobbler told the whole incident to the king but the king didn’t believe him. Next morning the king went to hunting there he found Deepthika fainted. He also saw a half- bitten sweet. when the king went home he was shocked as he found two glowing necklaces in the queen’s room. The king said “I had given Lakshita only one necklace but how come she has two same necklaces?” When the king turned a necklace, he found a blue pearl he realised that the necklace which had blue pearl in the back was the necklace of Deepthika. Then he believed the cobbler’s words. The king went to Deepthika and gave her a few drops of herbal juice then she recovered. The king sent out Lakshita for her selfish act. The queen realised her mistake. The king asked Deepthika to become his adviser Moral: If you do good then you will get good but if you do bad you will get bad.
