Letter from the Editor It is with great pleasure and honor that I bring to you the second issue of Palm Lakes Elementary magazine. The students worked on writing their thoughts about the topic “What I like about...” Singers in chorus, artists from art, athletes in physical education and students shared with us what they like about their bestfriends and teachers. I hope you enjoy reading the magazine as much as we enjoy learning, playing and liking what we do here at Palm Lakes Elementary. Ms. Borrero

What I like about chorus... I love chorus in many different ways. For example, I feel that in chorus you need to have discipline and take things seriously. Also, I find chorus to be very fun and interesting. What I like the most about chorus is Mrs. Fojo, my music teacher. She is amazing and teaches me all the techniques to make me a better singer. I also like that we get to do many shows and perform a lot and sometimes we can even dance. I love how we can work together as a team and cooperate. -Lilliam Fontes Hello, my name is Estrella. I love chorus because of all the fun we have with the songs. We learn about different cultures, we go on trips, and do exercises. One exercise is humming the blues. What I like about you... bestfriends Sophia and Sabrina SOPHIA: I am such good friends with Sabrina because she is kind, loving, creative, smart, helpful, imaginative, funny, loyal, respectful, sharing, persuasive, and she agrees with me on many things. Sabrina is persuavive because when she agrees or does not agree with someone on something; she can easily convince me into agreeing with her with her words and how she uses them. SABRINA: Sophia is a super creative, inspiring person that is not afraid to speak. Although sometimes she is a bit of a showoff, she will always be my friend. What Elizabeth says about her bestfriends: SOFIA is smart and funny, because she jumps on me. She is talented and a good friend. JANNY is unique and talented, and is very crazy when I play with her. She’s nice to me and when I am feeling sad, she makes me happy. DEMI is funny and weird. She makes funny noises and tries to bite my finger in P.E. She makes me laugh. She’s kind and nice and honest.What SOFIA says about her bestfriends:ELIZABETH is easy to hang out with, and is funny as well.JANNY is crazy, and has an amazing personality and sense of humor.She’s amazing because she always knows what to do. What I like about ...being ASSISTANT PRINCIPAL at Palm Lakes Elementary I absolutely LOVE being the assistant principal at Palm Lakes Elementary because of the wonderful students who are so polite and whose smiles brighten my day. I also love working with the dedicated teachers and staff members who put their heart in everything they do, especially our amazing leader, Mrs. Iglesias. She leads by example and is always willing and ready to help in anyway she can. I have learned so much from her in the time I have been here at Palm Lakes Elementary. What I like about my teacher Ms. Legon My name is Giovanna and I am in 4th grade. My teacher, Ms. Legon, is very pretty and kind. She is very helpful with classwork if we get confused. When we need to get back on track, she does not play around.22 SPRING 2016 | PALM LAKES ELEMENTARY MAGAZINE

What I like about my teacher Mrs. Delgado My name is Yuniel and I don’t like Mrs. Delgado. I love Mrs. Delgado. I love her because she is always making me laugh. She shows us reviews to pass the FSA (by the way other teachers don’t do that the same way she does.) When I am sad, she cheers me up. I don’t want this school year to end. I will burst out in tears, all because Mrs. Delgado is the best teacher that I ever had. Mrs. Delgado is fun, not strict, and awesome. No wonder, other students from last year come to see her! What I like about my teacher Mrs. Delgado Why I like my teacher, Mrs. Delgado by Nayely. She’s nice. She teaches us a lot so we can do good in school and be smart. She appreciates what we do for her. What I like about my teacher Mrs. Delgado I am Angel and I like my teacher, Mrs. Delgado because she cares about helping us when we have a situation or problem. What I like about Physical Education My name is Anthony and I am in the 5th grade. I like Physical Education because it’s the only time we get to be a kid and have fun, and it is the only class we don’t have to use a pencil. My name is Flabia. I am in the 5th grade. I like Physical Education because I can hang outwith my friends and get my mind off of things. We can do different types of games and onFridays we can listen to music and dance and do the jump rope. Coach Valdes is the best!That is why I love Physical Education. I like Physical Education because when we play sports we always learn something new and it takes my mind off of stress because I just had a test and I am stressed! My name is Kayleen and I am in the 5th grade. I like Physical Education because it feels like a good hobby and it’s good for you. When I play I feel like I am in a game. What I like about Physical Education My name is Fausto and I like Physical Education because you could have lots of fun playing basketball, football, and even soccer. You could really let out your wild! Also, because you can play and have fun with your friends winning the game.My name is Nicholas from the 5th grade. Ilike Physical Education. Why? The reason whyis that it is fun. You learn new sports, loseweight, and be athletic. I’m an athlete and Iget my muscles strong by kicking, throwing,and much more.
