Chapter Three LAW OF MAN 103 Take Benevolence as Root and Man as FoundationThree Levels of Fulfilling Other People Everyone, especially leaders and administrators, should consider the following three levels to fulfill other people:first, help your subordinates; second, help your leaders; and lastly, help your associates. If you can do all these threepoints, you are the greatest success.Your Attitude to Your Staff Determines Your Customers’ Attitude to You How can we make suppliers serve the enterprise voluntarily? The answer is the strength of the enterprise, whichdepends on the efforts of its staff. Administrators must realize that everyone is a powerful cell to push the enterpriseforward. Usually, the seemingly big say is nothing. On the contrary, the success is determined by those whose words seemto have no say in the company. As a matter of fact, the honesty and care about customers we advocate are also accomplished through the staff. The waythe company treats its staff determines the staff’s treatment of customers, which in return determines how customers treatthe company. Thus, although the end point is customers, the starting point is still the care about its staff. As a result, whatsenior executives must do is to consider the strategic problems on one hand and to consider the demands of the employeesto see whether these demands have been satisfied on the other hand. We need to pay attention to something individualonce something universal has been settled.
CHAMBROAD CULTURE Integrity Dedication Improvement AltruismLeaders Should Set Examples We failed to do many things well in the past because leaders always put forward many requirements for others withoutconstraining themselves with these requirements. Thus, the staff might do as you required at your presence, but stop doingso once you leave. However, when you do as you required them to do, the staff will automatically follow your examplewithout any supervision. Take workshop cleaning as an example. When the cleaning is required by the leader, the staff may do it but withoutwillingness and the result will not last. However, when leaders take the initiative to do the cleaning, the staff will feelashamed and do their own cleaning. With the example of leaders, the result will last. Once, the company was set on fire. When the staff and firefighters came to the site, I had climbed onto the top of thetower and was commanding people to put out the fire. I would not have come down alive if the fire had gone upward tothe tower. I swayed at the height of 35 meters and refused to come down. At that time, I only had a belief that I had notfinished the mission God sent to me and I would not die. Therefore, if leaders set good examples, no fight will fail.Convey the Message of Fearlessness to the Team Leaders should convey to their teams the fearless determination and mentality. What they should do is to strategicallytake the enemy lightly and tactically take the enemy seriously with such a mentality that one is able to resist ten and such ameans that ten can easily defeat one.Ready to Jump Out at Any Moment Paying attention to the business does not mean that you have to do it by yourself. Ask your assistant to do it. What youhave to do is to learn to liberate yourself by jumping out of it. After you get yourself liberated, you try to get yourself engaged again. Once you get yourself engaged, you try toliberate yourself again. For instance, you have to get yourself engaged with a lot of work when drawing out a strategyor designing a module. Then you find some others to take the job and liberate yourself. The cycle continues and you getimproved in this cycle. Why do some people grow up slowly, mature slowly and make slow progress? It is because they fail to look at things inthe room by standing at the door. While they are in the room, there are always places they fail to see. Thus, we shouldsee the industry by jumping out of the industry, see the company by jumping out of the company, see the workshop byjumping out of the workshop, and see the post by jumping out of the post.
Chapter Three LAW OF MAN 105 Take Benevolence as Root and Man as FoundationChange What Can Be Changed with Wisdom. Embrace What Can Not Be Changed with Open Mind. These two sentences are applicable to both of our big and small families, both to our country and even to the wholeworld. We change the changeable things with our wisdom, but there are also many things that we fail to change. Theunchangeability manifests itself in many aspects and for them what we can do is to embrace them with our open mind.Otherwise, you will drown yourself in sorrow and the happiness index will become lower. These two points are veryimportant. As the saying goes, “A leopard never changes his spots.” For those unchangeable things, we can only embracethem with our open mind. To embrace with open mind is to identify. For instance, in our enterprise, the corporate culture is the whole ofConfucianism, Taoism and Yi-Jing culture based on filial piety. As long as you are in our team, you have to admit firstthat this is unchangeable. So you must either identify with it or leave the enterprise. Things like what we are doing now—tapping potentials and technological innovations fall into the category of changeable. For them, we must use of wisdom tochange them.
CHAMBROAD CULTURE Integrity Dedication Improvement AltruismChairman of the Board's Talk on Environmental ProtectionsPut Standardization Ahead of Development in Environmental Protection Better environmental protection work is to be done to turn water clean and dispel smells, which is also the focus offuture development of our industry. From the perspective of industry development, we must bear in mind that standardsshould be established before development. We must not base our benefits, profits and enjoyment on the pains and lossesof others. Such practice should be completely eradicated and the corporate value of “altruism” should be effectivelyimplemented.Disposal of “Three Wastes” Starts from Our Inner Heart The disposal of “three wastes (gas, water, and industrial residue)” is not something that can be fooled. Our disposalawareness should be raised and the energy we spend on it should be no less than that we spend on ordinary projects. Inthe past, we had to take measures to protect the environment under the pressure from the government. Now, however, wemake greater efforts to protect our environment regardless of the government. If we were unable to dispose these wastesproperly, we would rather stop the production of our enterprise because our conscience tells us that we should not do suchbaleful things. Thus, we should do it from our inner heart and raise our awareness of environmental protection.
Chapter Three LAW OF MAN 107 Take Benevolence as Root and Man as FoundationMake Use of Rather Than Dispose of “Three Wastes” Things used in different places can produce quite different effects. For instance, the same thing may be called fertilizerwhen used on plants, feed on animals, and food on human beings. Similarly, although the treatment of “three wastes”takes different names, its essence does not change. They are still the same things. So, I suggest that in terms of thetreatment of “three wastes” we should make good use of them, rather than dispose of them, let alone get rid of them. What is garbage? What is waste? As a matter of fact, nothing is absolute. The so-called garbage and waste are only whatare defined by us now. Some people think hydrogen sulfide is a waste, but it is a waste only when it can not be disposed of;otherwise, it makes a really good resource. In our technology research and development center, there is a sulfide institute, specializing in the study of sulfide. The same is true with human. Garbage and waste resources are actually good stuff thatis put in the wrong places. Good resources will necessarily become useless wastes if they are not correctly used. So, we,especially the administrators, should make clear the names of many things. They are called wastes because we fail to findefficient ways to make use of them.Destroying Environment Is a Lack of Filial Piety. To serve our country and society with industry is our responsibility. Society consists of human and environment, whereman follows the law of Earth; Earth follows the law of Heaven; Heaven follows the law of universe; law of universe isits being what it is. The essence is that man's development is based on the change of environment. Man's activities arechanged by environment, the change of which depends on the motion of celestial bodies and the core of the motionof celestial bodies is the universal law, which means the working law of the universe. To put it simply, man’s survivaldepends on the environment that serves us like our parents. It is an unfilial behavior if you do not look after your parentsand it is an even greater unfilial behavior if you beat your parents because you are violating the ethics of filial piety. Nowthe destruction we bring to the environment is just like the crime children commit to their parents. Thus, it is man’sresponsibility to treasure our surviving environment and it is our duty to protect our environment. Taoism teaches manto know the universe and follow the law of nature; Confucianism educates man to know and undertake responsibilities,to correct his behavior and cultivate his moral character. All these are real filial piety. As filial and responsible people,we should practice filial piety to Heaven, Earth, Man and our environment. To change our present environment and toimprove our living and working environments are the obligatory duties and responsibilities of every senior executive. Thebenevolence and filial piety of Chambroad should start from itscare, protection and improvement of our environment. Quality is produced and manufactured instead of being turned out by inspection.

CHAMBROAD CULTURE Integrity Dedication Improvement AltruismLogo Interpretation The global layout of the logo is based on the ancient Chinese oracle character “ 水 ”, which literally means water, meaning that the highest good is like that of water, which benefits everything but contends for nothing and is content with the places that all men disdain. This is the most modest goodness.
