Case Study Rajesh, a trainee from ICICI Academy for Skills, got placed at ABC corporation as a sales executive. He adopted the company’s norms and the way people of ABC corporation are. Rajesh was able to work efficiently even during target pressure. He ensured that he treats every feedback he received from his managers or co- workers as an opportunity to learn. At the times, when customer demanded favours against the rules and regulations of an organization, Rajesh did not hesitate communicating with client. During annual appraisal, Rajesh was not promoted, however, he was appreciated for his performance. He continued working with the same energy, integrity and zeal. 8

Professional Behaviour Professional behaviour is a form of etiquette (mannerism) in workplace that is primarily linked to being respectful and courteous. 12

Professional Behaviour – Grooming Grooming Standards – Men Hair Style • Short hair with length above collar • Apply oil and water in equal amount on dry hair Clothes • Pants should cover heels and shirt with proper fit • Too shiny, big or tight clothes to be avoided Footwear • Well polished black or brown shoes • Socks colour same as trouser Accessories • Always carry pen, watch, belt and handkerchief 13

Professional Behaviour – Grooming Grooming Standards – Women Hair Style • Neatly combed hair left open or tied in a pony/plates • Hair should not fall on face or eyes Clothes • Salwar suit, churidar salwar is preferred in formal dress • Neatly pleated & pinned saree with decent blouse • Shirt – trouser, Suits with trousers or A-line skirt • Avoid tight, low cut, short or revealing clothes Footwear • Slippers and fancy shoes should be avoided • Avoid very high heels, flashy shoes. Makeup • Light makeup including lipsticks, lip gloss & nail paint 14
