EDITORIAL The ‘natural’ progression is birth, death, old age and disease. The Desirable progression is being lead not from birth to death, but from darkness to light; asato ma gamaya….The Upanishads give the most enlightened teachings as to how to ‘progress’ from darkness (tamasah ) to light. The main methodology is not to renounce the world but find yourself in the world, even while living the ‘ordinairy’ life. The Dao de Jing is also a very practical guide to life. It teaches the celebration of the symbioses of the ‘here and now’ with the ideals for the enlightened life! It gives impetus see the myriad forms of nature-and ourselves as part of it- but as a ‘flowering of thriving harmony .’ As such, the natural progression of life is not death but enlightenment! Nature is auto-generative and self-sustaining and we similarly -without due manipulation of the ego and over- burdened senses- can live harmoniously with our Self and our Other as complete units! But to see ‘the One in the Many and the Many in One’ for a holistic view of life (which includes so called ‘death’ of course) and celebrate the Sacred Inter alliance of all things. As the great Medieval Indian Philosopher Abhinavagupta repeatedly points out “ sarvam sarvatmakam! All things are inter related and touching at every point! The world is but a charming Indra’s net where we can see all that is desirable for the well-being of all! When we reflect the sacred that is within us, like a lotus at the edge of a stream, the reflection will match the perfect blossom! \"succession would begin with new smaller plants. Communities are always changing and growing.\"

11 DEPARTMENTAL OF MICROBIOLOGY ID INDUSTRIAL VISIT 23RD FEB. 2022 TO 25TH FEB. 2022 Industrial visit is a vital part of the curriculum. It helps to bridge the gap between classroom and the real working world. The visit also provides first-hand knowledge about the organizational structures and modes of operation in different industries. This visit was mainly focused on to understand the procedures involved during production of Food products, the technology and the equipment’s used. The objective of this visit was to provide real life exposure to Microbiology students about knowledge of production industries and their automation by applying it. With this vision in mind, Industrial Visit was planned by Microbiology ID Department from 23rd February to 25th February 2022. On 23rd Feb., 2022, 57 students of B.Sc. Mapro is a food processing company founded in 1959, in the hill-town of Panchgani, near Mahabaleswar - a popular tourist destination near Mumbai and Pune. Mapro was started by Kishore Vora a pharmacist by profession and later (1983 onwards) grown by his nephew Mayur Vora. The high fruit juice content of Mapro's crushes and squashes - 45 per cent, compared to 25 per cent for rivals Kissan and Mala's - made them instant hits. The rise of modern retail gave Mapro a nationwide network. After tax reforms Mapro invested in setting up three new units in Satara and Pune districts in Maharashtra and Pathankot in Punjab. As of 2012, installed capacity was 100 tonnes a day. As growth in the jams and squashes business started slowing in 2005, Mapro entered the confectionery and chocolate business.

13 Then we divided into five groups with their guide. The guide has shown the following steps to produce the Mapro products: 1. Raw Materials Jams and jellies are made from a variety of fruits, either singly or in combination. 2. The Manufacturing Process-The process given below is mainly for jams and jellies. There is not much difference in the production processes of crushes, syrups, etc. 3. Pasteurizing the fruit 4.
