Welcome friends! Regency Auction 53 is our biggest and best of 2022 so far! We have 429 lots crossing the block, featuring four anchor collections and highlights abound from those as well as many other consignors. As with all of our Regency Auctions, you know that care was taken to curate the sale. The first collection to cross the block is the Unforgettable Collection of Commemoratives. Ranking near the top of the PCGS Set Registry, every coin included in this advanced set (a basic 50-piece type set along with some duplicates) truly live up to the name. All are top notch quality and have stunning visual allure from their gorgeous toning. Many of these coins have been off the market for decades and making their first auction appearance in our July 2022 Regency Auction. A varied and amazing type coins follow, with a nearly complete set of Proof Seated Liberty dimes and the MHS Collection of Capped Bust quarters surrounded by many other great coins, that lead into the M&S Petty Collection of Seated Liberty Dollars, a complete set, with many CAC approved and Mint State specimens of this very challenging series. Built with the guidance of Laura Sperber, and featuring a number of impressively pedigreed pieces, each coin is truly special. Obviously the most famous is the FCC Boyd specimen of the ultra rare 1870-S, but also the 1850-O in PCGS MS64 CAC (first generation holder) and the James A Stack 1873-CC in PCGS AU55 CAC are among the many other highlights. Morgan dollars, both common dates with stunning toning, and rare dates in high grade are well represented, from a number of advanced collectors and other consignors. The selection truly has something for everyone. Following the silver dollars is a fantastic grouping of Patterns, duplicates from the famed Black Cat Collection. Over the last four years, the collector has become one of the most serious specialist collectors of these very rare coins, and has accumulated a group of duplicates. He has decided to sell some of these to allow other collectors the opportunity to add truly world class coins to their collections. Closing out the sale is an extensive offering of gold coins, one of our strongest yet this year (and that is saying a lot!). Many of the coins are highlights, including high end rare date quarter eagles and half eagles, and a wide range of double eagles. We welcome you to participate in person, online, or on the phone. If you need any assistance or would like more information do not hesitate to reach out to us, we are here to serve you, the collector. Best, Jessica Berkman, President LRCA P.S. Do not forget about our 174 lot online only session that soft closes on July 31.

Keep in mind that a coin could be either low or high end for the grade, have stunning color or be dull, all of which radically affect a coin’s value. Yes, there can be huge price differences within a grade, and we offer estimates as a guide so Collector’s can have a better idea of value. One thing we will never do is offer low ball estimates in order to claim stronger sales. These published estimates represent what Legend Rare Coin Auctions determines to be an approximate high wholesale value for the coin. The numbers are based upon current market values, similar trades, auction prices, published prices, and a consideration of the coin’s quality. There is no guarantee that the estimated prices are minimums or are exactly what you can expect to get if you attempt to resell them wholesale. We always advise you to view the coins you are interested in and calculate what you’ll pay using as much information as possible. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask us. We are here to help you!

Laura Sperber PRINCIPALS Partner Laura was raised in Highland Park, NJ. During high school, the coin bug hit her hard. Her trip to Bruce Morelan the 1976 NYC ANA left a lasting mark and huge desire for her to own and handle the greatest Partner rarities. While attending Monmouth University, Laura attended coin shows more than classes. After college, she started LSS RCI, a wholesale coin company. In 1986, she realized the need for a Jessica Berkman “better” coin retailer and teamed up in 1986 with George Huang to form Legend Numismatics. President In 1996 Bruce Morelan became a partner and since then Legend has exclusively built or assisted in assembling this generation’s greatest collections. In 2012 Laura saw the need for a smaller, boutique auction firm, and created Legend-Morphy with Dan Morphy, whom she split with in 2014. Today, Laura is also a leading consumer advocate for coins. The passion has never subsided, and she keeps a beautiful Proof Walker on her desk to this day. Bruce started collecting coins when he was only six years old and by the time he was in high school his dream was to be a coin dealer. But life intervened and instead, Bruce went into business. By chance, he became Legend Numismatics’ financial backer in 1996. His great grandmother had given him three coins when he was young, one of which being a Trade Dollar, so he set out to build the finest Trade Dollar set. After a few years with ultra rarities, Bruce returned to his love of dollars and completed both a set of Gobrechts and a set of Seated Dollars. After selling those sets, Bruce recently returned to dollars with a new Gobrecht set and a spectacular early dollar set capped by his dream coin, the Amon Carter 1794 Dollar. Not many collector’s can say they have completed not only the finest 1794-1885 Dollar Sets and have over the years owned such coins as two 1913 Liberty Head Nickels, an 1894-S Dime, 1876-CC Twenty Cent piece, 1827 Original and Restrike Quarters, 1838-O Half Dollar, two 1885 Trade Dollars and four 1884 Trade Dollars! Jessica heralds from the Lone Star State where she earned her BA in Art History from the University of North Texas. Her interest in Fine Art led her to seek employment at Heritage Auctions. As fate would have it, the role available was in Numismatics. Equally passionate about History, the opportunity sounded intriguing and turned out to be a great fit. It wasn’t long before Jessica was entrenched in the rare coin industry and earned a solid reputation for providing outstanding customer service while adeptly managing coin consignments. After six years and life taking its course, she explored the world of bullion and precious metals before returning to the auction landscape. Jessica is thrilled to be a member of the Legend Rare Coin Auctions team where she will continue to expand and grow her numismatic horizons while providing the top notch level of service that Legend is known to deliver. In her spare time, Jessica enjoys travelling around the world, creating pottery and spending quality time with her furry and not so furry pets. After a long break from childhood collecting, my adult & 2 and the sole MS68). It was removed from its original collecting started back in the late 90’s with small cents, mint envelope in 1993, along with six others. This one reigniting my passion. I still collect small cents. But a was the best and has not been viewed or offered publicly few years ago, I wanted to do something different. Doing since. It has been tucked away in an older collection until another regular issue series didn’t seem interesting. I bought it in 2018. While reading a book about the Chicago World’s Fair, Pan Pac PCGS 67+. One hit on the skirt away from a 68. I started looking into the commemorative series. The This coin has a subtle but very captivating powder blue interesting designs combined with the colorful toning texture I can stare at for hours. It’s 68 quality. imparted by the packaging, were very enticing. After purchasing two or three nice ones, opportunity knocked, Hawaiian – Besides a personal connection to Hawaii, and it knocked hard! A collector who built a set in the what better statement about the “rainbow state” than a early 90’s wanted to sell a group of those coins in one commemorative with the King catching a rainbow. It may deal. At first, I was unsure about such a large deal right not be the best, but it is the most unique IMO. out of the box. But, after comparing a few of them to coins in the top registry sets, I knew this opportunity Hudson – Again, easily the most colorful and finest 67+ wouldn’t come often, if ever. To get the very best, I had to buy them all – around 20 coins. I ended up selling a Columbia D&S bought together from your New Orleans few, but the core of that set is still present and together auction, and if I recall were from the same collection in mine. Those include the Norfolk, Alabama, 36-D when brought to your office. A stunning pair as nice as Cincinnati, 92 Columbian, Antietam, Pan Pac, Sesqui, the 68+’s made since then. The color on the reverse of 35-S San Diego, Texas, 52 Washington-Carver, and the D is just on fire. the Monroe. I was off to the races faster than I thought possible. Long Island – is one of my favorites, and really could go 68. I love the contrast between the clear satiny portrait Although each coin is individually special, these are and the peripheral toning that is evenly distributed among my most favorite: around the coin. That’s different than any of the others in this grade. Lynchburg - Easily the greatest Lynchburg in existence. Far better than any other in a top 10 collection (including #1 These truly are UNFORGETTABLE coins! 10

LOT 1 25C 1893 ISABELLA. PCGS MS67+ CAC A truly MAGNIFICENT example of the only commemorative quarter struck prior to the 1976 Bicentennial quarter. Exceptionally brilliant and beautifully toned, we absolutely love the look of this totally original SUPERB GEM. Incredible and delightful multicolored toning, showing slate-blue, lilac-teal, and amber- tangerine-rose that is boldly brought out by a sensational glowing cartwheel luster. The brilliance and the toning are seriously captivating. Sharply impressed design elements stand out on this FLAWLESS SUPERB GEM. Everything about this coin is PQ! Pristine surfaces are brilliant and even with a strong glass, we find nothing to that is worthy of mention, giving this satiny SUPERB GEM an even greater eye appeal. PCGS 66, NGC 55, CAC 31. There are 13 in MS67+. The two most recent examples sold in 2019, one in our December 2019 Regency Auction at $13,513 and the other for $16,450 in March 2019. The current Collectors Universe value is listed at $15,000. PCGS has graded a mere 7 coins finer, none of which have sold since 2014, and today, would sell for more than $50,000 should one appear in auction. This fabulous Isabella will certainly delight any advanced commemorative specialist. Good luck. PCGS# 9220 | EST: $14,000+ LOT 2 50C 1921 ALABAMA. PCGS MS66+ CAC This is a beautiful, totally original, and shimmering SUPERB example of this popular, conditionally rare early commem. The surfaces are clean and gleam with a brilliant, frosty luster that possesses a vivid sheen. The mint glow accents a dusting of iridescent gold and hints of multicolored patina. Sharply struck devices and smooth, problem free surfaces, combine for a beautiful state of preservation and bold visual effect. PCGS 156, NGC 93, CAC 52. There are 24 in MS66+ at PCGS. The most recent example sold in April 2020 for $1,860 and prior to that we sold one for $2,703 in January 2020. The PCGS Price Guide value is $3,000. VERY RARE any finer, PCGS has graded just half a dozen finer, and an MS67 will cost into the five figures. This gorgeous coin is worthy of a very strong bid and will see very active bidding. PCGS# 9224 | EST: $2,200+ 11

LOT 3 50C 1921 ALABAMA 2 X 2. PCGS MS67 CAC The Alabama 2X2 is a major condition rarity in the series, fewer than 10 examples have ever graded this fine or better! WOW! Of the 6,006 struck, this one is tied for second highest graded and was graded ages ago, housed in an old green tag holder. Everything about this coin is totally original and amazing! First off the defiant eagle on the reverse, designed by Laura Gardin Faser is awesome. The design elements are sharply struck up, a trait not often seen on this early commemorative type. Essentially PRISTINE surfaces, and while we make no guarantees, this is as close a shot to 67+ as you could hope. Attractive gold and soft pale blue is accented by a brilliant silver luster with a pearlescent sheen. The eye appeal of this old holdered SUPERB GEM is off the charts for this often unattractive type. PCGS 7, NGC 9, CAC 4. This remarkable coin sold in April 2019 for $16,800. A coin like this is worth more than the published levels and we expect it will attract very spirited bidding when it crosses the block! PCGS# 9225 | EST: $15,000+ LOT 4 50C 1936 ALBANY. PCGS MS67+ CAC Tied for second highest graded by PCGS. A wonderful tab toned Albany half! A bold, brilliant cartwheel luster swirls boldly on both sides, accenting the warm golden toning. The surfaces are essentially flawless, free of any distracting marks and the strong strike adds to the outstanding visual quality. PCGS 256, NGC 181, CAC 96. PCGS has graded 39 in MS67+. Over the years, only 18 PCGS/CAC MS67+s have sold in auction, realizing an average of $1,747. We think this one will sell for more. PCGS# 9227 | EST: $1,500+ 12

LOT 5 50C 1937 ANTIETAM. PCGS MS68 CAC Ex Shepherd, as noted on the old green insert. This is one of the most SENSATIONAL Antietam half dollars we have EVER seen! This coin is off the charts amazing in every sense. WOW! First the toning sets this MONSTER apart from its peers. Both sides are reminiscent of Jacob’s coat; every shade of the spectrum is visible, and they come to a bold vivacity when rotated in a light. Deep crimson, royal violet, dark orange, and soft verdant hues really pop. The central obverse has just a subtle touch of gold, as if a spotlight is being placed on the profiles of Robert E. Lee and George McClellan, the commanding generals of the Confederate and Union Armies, respectively. The famed Burnside Bridge on the reverse looks sculpted and 3-D on the reverse, the tranquil landscape on the reverse looking nothing like it did on the chaotic day in September 1862 which was the bloodiest single day battle in the entire Civil War. The eye appeal is simply STUNNING. PCGS 23, NGC 23, CAC 17. There are two, essentially ancient APRs for similar patinated coins (though those looked darker for sure); one was in January 2005 for $21,850 and another back in September 2003 for $26,450. For a coin like this it is probably best to ignore the more recent comps and disregard the published price guides, as the bidding action will send this coin into a frenzied charge of bidding. We would not be surprised if a new auction record was set when this coin crosses the block! PCGS# 9229 | EST: $15,000+ LOT 6 50C 1935 ARKANSAS. PCGS MS67 CAC RARE in this lofty state of preservation. A truly SUPERB Arkansas half that clearly sat in an old collector album for ages, as the peripheries have toned up beautifully, yielding to frosted lustrous silver in the centers. Lovely bands of dappled multicolored coppery-orange and violet, with accents of other hues that are brought out by a bold lustrous frost. A strong glass reveals only the tiniest of ticks that keep this coin from a plus and becoming tied for FINEST graded. PCGS 28, NGC 17, CAC 18. This lovely SUPERB example is worthy of a very strong bid, one that will leave the published levels in the dust. Only five MS67+s have ever graded finer, the only one that has ever sold was over a decade ago! We expect very strong bidding on this beauty, and our estimates will be left in the dust when the hammer falls. PCGS# 9233 | EST: $2,200+ 13

LOT 7 50C 1936-S BAYBRIDGE. PCGS MS67+ CAC A beautiful and high end SUPERB GEM example of this popular Classic Commemorative issue! Dreamy surfaces are ultra clean and have a wonderful satiny smooth texture. The design is bold with the California Bear on the obverse and the bay view on the reverse fully defined and free from any distracting marks or ticks. Warm gold, and variegated sunset hues surround the bear. The eye appeal is truly sensational! PCGS 265, NGC 115, CAC 106. There are 45, no doubt including duplication, graded MS67+. The last time we sold one was over five years ago for $2,350 and the current PCGS Price Guide value is listed at $2,500. Rare any finer, making this a great example for the collector. PCGS# 9254 | EST: $2,000+ LOT 8 50C 1935/34-D BOONE. PCGS MS68 A sensational SUPERB GEM example, tied for second highest graded at PCGS from the tiny original mintage of 2,003. Thick, satiny surfaces have a bold pearly luster glowing boldly with a warm satiny smoothness. Lilac-imbued dove surfaces in the centers with pleasing rainbow patina framing the rims. The devices are crisply struck with fully defined details and the fields are PRISTINE and totally without flaw. This is an AMAZING example that will delight even the pickiest of collectors! PCGS 7, NGC 8. As expected for a coin with such a low Population, these rarely appear in auction, The last one sold back in September 2016. Today the PCGS Price Guide value is listed at $8,500. Just three in MS68+ are graded finer, and NONE have ever sold in auction. We know this MONSTER GEM will bring very strong bidding when it crosses the block. A real prize for the collector seeking the best. Don’t let this opportunity pass you by! PCGS# 9263 | EST: $7,500+ 14

LOT 9 50C 1936-D BOONE. PCGS MS67+ CAC A special Boone for sure! Tied for FINEST graded at PCGS, this clearly is one of the best known from a small original mintage of 5,005. The obverse displays a wonderful blush of icy blue over brilliant silver surfaces. That same hue of blue dominates most of the reverse, framed by a nearly complete ring of deep, sunset orange. The devices are sharply struck and were it not for a tiny mark on the great pioneer’s cheekbone, this coin could have upgraded, our consignor certainly thought it had a shot. PCGS MS67+ CAC Tied for the absolute FINEST KNOWN of this low mintage commemorative. This coin is virtually PRISTINE! Of the few tiny ticks that are seen with the aid of a strong glass, none have an impact on the outstanding visual allure. A thick mint frost glows, accenting satiny smooth and vibrant surfaces. A hint of the faintest toning attests to the originality and adds to the high end visual allure. The quality and eye appeal are unimproveable! The Cincinnati half dollar commemorates the 50th anniversary of the Ohio city as a center of music, thus the portrait of America’s troubadour, Stephen Foster, and an allegorical goddess holding a harp on the reverse. A congressional act dated March 31, 1936 authorized the issue. Each mint produced 5,000 examples and these were offered in P,D,S sets, most of which have been broken up over the years. PCGS 37, NGC 10, CAC 6. There are 3 in MS67+ and NONE FINER. This is the only example to sell in auction, realizing $15,000 in June 2018. The current PCGS Price Guide value is $18,000 and we have no doubt that this impressive coin will bring a very strong bid. You will have a hard time putting this amazing coin down, the color is just mesmerizing! PCGS 38, NGC 53, CAC 20. We like the look of this coin as much as the MS68+ we sold in May 2019 for $15,863. LOT 17 50C 1936-S COLUMBIA. PCGS MS68 CAC Another GLORIOUS SUPERB GEM Columbia half dollar. Like the 36-D above, this coin is an old friend, offered here for only the second time in the modern era, hailing from the same old time collection that was housed in a Wayte Raymond album prior to certification. A lower mintage issue, with only 8,007 distributed, it is among the very FINEST survivors graded! This coin really is quite beautiful for the type. Between the two years, 1892 and 1893 this type was struck, over two million were produced. Many went to non-collectors and eventually found their way into circulation. While common enough in Mint State grades up to MS66, it is RARE in SUPERB grades. Incredible EVERYTHING! WOW oh WOW! This is a sensational Columbian Expo half! Tied for second HIGHEST graded at PCGS, there is just a single MS68 graded finer. This example is beautifully toned over semi-Prooflike reflective lustrous surfaces. WOW! Rose and lilac overtones grace the clear gold and antique silver coloration that define the surfaces on the obverse, while the reverse is mostly untoned with a hint of peripheral color that frames the intense brilliance of the centers. Razor sharp in strike, even the most minute details of the globe are fully rendered by an exacting blow from the dies. A strong glass reveals a tiny, insignificant tick or two, but nothing that distracts the eye or has any impact on the outstanding visual allure. All we can say is WOW! In fact, the surface quality is essentially identical to the MS68. PCGS 52, NGC 51, CAC 27. There are 14 in MS67+ at PCGS The most recent example sold in our October 2021 Regency Auction for $13,513. LOT 23 50C 1936 GETTYSBURG. PCGS MS67+ CAC Sensational, totally original tab toning graces this SUPERB Gettysburg half dollar. One of the most popular subsets from the extensive classic commemorative series is those related to the Civil War. This type is in constant demand from collectors, and is rare in this lofty state of preservation, and the Gettysburg half is prohibitively RARE any finer. This exceptional, essentially FLAWLESS coin sat with the reverse up in the original cardboard holder. Rich peripheral toning and a coppery-gold spot in the exact center take the pattern of the holder, while the obverse is evenly covered across the entire surface. Shades of peach, tangerine, and violet dominate, with subtle shades of olive and emerald that pop out when the satiny frosted surfaces are rotated in a light. Clearly this beauty sat undisturbed in an old album or similar type holder, imparting a band of intense color at the periphery, yielding to lighter patina in the centers. Tangerine, gold, magenta, and rose dominate the peripheral tones, infused with hints of teal and violet. The centers are antique silver and iridescent icy blue. The colors are further enlivened by a satiny mint bloom which accents the flawless surfaces and sharply impressed design elements. We have studied this coin over and over with a strong glass, and we cannot locate anything that would keep it out of an even higher grade holder (no guarantees), but we cannot imagine a finer example. LOT 25 50C 1922 GRANT, STAR. PCGS MS67 CAC This is the ULTIMATE Grant with Star half dollar. One of the KEYS to the series, only 4,256 were struck with the tiny star in the field above GRANT on the obverse, and this one is tied for second HIGHEST GRADED with just a single MS67+ graded higher. Our sister firm owned this coin twice over the years, and we sold it for $42,300 in our Regency Auction XX, back in January 2017. Superior surfaces are flawless. You can use a strong glass and look really hard for a long time and will not be disappointed. There are only some light Mint made striations visible. LOT 26 50C 1928 HAWAIIAN. PCGS MS66 CAC The 1928 Hawaii is one of the most popular types in the entire classic commemorative series, and with a mintage of 9,958, it is one of the key dates. A large number were stored at the Bank of Hawaii and the hot, humid, tropical climate imparted a “dusty” golden tone that is quite often seen on original examples. This GEM is no different. However the eye appeal of this PQ example is better than often seen. What sets this beauty apart is the rainbow band that streaks across the central reverse, painting a rainbow over the Hawaiian landscape behind Kamahamaha. The strike is bold and the surfaces are glowing with a sensationally vibrant mint luster. The eye appeal is very high end! PCGS 129, NGC 74, CAC 47. The current CAC CPG value is $6,600 and this colorful, borderline SUPERB GEM will bring a very strong bid from the advanced collector. It would not come as a surprise if this coin counted for several of the currently 8 listed at this grade level at PCGS. Not only is this coin SUPERB from a technical quality perspective, but it is also AMAZING in terms of eye appeal! Ultra satiny surfaces glow in the fields around the devices, giving life to the wonderful ORIGINAL toning. Clearly this coin sat in an old album where it was able to take on some vivid orange and pastel hued iridescent toning. The eye appeal is spectacular! We doubt a nicer Hudson even exists anywhere. PCGS 40, NGC 38, CAC 12. There are 8 in MS67+ and NONE FINER. This also the only one to sell in major auction, realizing $22,913 in our September 2018 Regency Auction. AMAZING deep and rich rainbow toning on both sides which yields to brilliant silver in the center. The sunset orange, purple, blue, green, and other tones really come out boldly on the obverse and the reverse is a bit more subtle, but no less beautiful. A strong luster accents the colors and brings them to life in the most vivid way. The PRISTINE surfaces are free of distracting marks or discolorations of any kind. A strong luster blooms on both sides, a bold pearlescent satiny brilliance amplifies the pastel iridescent toning on the obverse, while the reverse is mostly untoned original silver. The eye appeal is incredible. PCGS 16, NGC 5. The current PCGS Price Guide value is listed at $4,000. The last one sold half a decade ago, realizing $3,055. Only 5,000 were struck, and after 36 years of coin grading, PCGS has NEVER graded one in full SUPERB GEM grade, this one comes as close as any! This is a real prize for anyone working on a top tier set! Frosty, satin luster blooms in the ultra smooth fields. The strike is bold with fully struck devices that seem to be in high relief. The most delicate touch of iridescent golden tone is brought out by the impressive satiny lustrous frost. The eye appeal is exceptional and if you collect TOP POP commems, you will find a lot to love with this borderline SUPERB GEM! PCGS 52, NGC 42, CAC 15. There are 10 graded MS66+ at PCGS and NONE HIGHER. We have sold two very similar examples over the years, including the record holder, which brought $31,725 in our May 2019 Regency Auction. The current PCGS Price Guide value is $30,000 and in this market we would not be surprised if this coin brought a new record price. Good luck. PCGS# 9331 | EST: $26,000+ 30

LOT 37 50C 1923-S MONROE. PCGS MS66 CAC One of the most magnificent examples of this typically visually challenging type in the series. The visual allure of this particular GEM is off the charts and its quality borders on the SUPERB GEM grade. The usually lackluster surfaces are beaming with a bold luster that glows with a dramatic brilliance under the totally original and visually enticing toning. Azure and amber tones burst forcefully off the silky smooth surfaces. The devices are likewise counter to what you often see on this type; they are very sharply impressed. On the present coin you can actually see the female forms that create the North and South American continents on the reverse. The eye appeal is amazing for a GEM Monroe! PCGS 115, NGC 70, CAC 26. The toning and eye appeal really set this one apart. We sold a lovely non-CAC PCGS MS65 for $4,700 in Regency Auction 50; a gorgeous PCGS MS64+ CAC for $3,055 in Regency 28; and an other stunning MS65 for $3,760 in Regency 26. We think this coin is going to sell in that range when the hammer finally falls on this PQ GEM. When you see it, you will know how special this Monroe is! Good luck. PCGS# 9333 | EST: $2,500+ LOT 38 50C 1938 NEW ROCHELLE. PCGS MS67+ CAC Ex Bruce Scher Collection, as noted on the insert. WOW! WOW! WOW! This is a MONSTER TONED New Rochelle! The color is absolutely CRAZY beautiful. Among our personal favorites from this Unforgettable Collection! A kaleidoscopic array of colors give this polychromatic SUPERB GEM a fabulous look! Crimson and azure tones dominate the obverse with hints of green at the periphery. The same tones frame the periphery of the reverse, keeping the center frosty and untoned in the center. This coin has the eye appeal of an even loftier grade, especially from the obverse, but a few tiny ticks on the wide open reverse keep it at the impressive MS67+ grade. Needless to say though, this New Rochelle half dollar offers high grade, beautiful color, and a superb pedigree, all traits that will lead to very strong bidding. PCGS 300, NGC 117, CAC 109. There are 66 graded MS67+, clearly there is duplication at this level. This MONSTER will easily blow past other MS67+ CAC coins and the published levels. This coin will be a highlight of any superlative collection. Our estimate is just conjecture, we suspect this coin will set a record for any MS67+ ever sold. PCGS# 9335 | EST: $3,500+ 31

LOT 39 50C 1938 NEW ROCHELLE. PCGS SP67+ CAC One of the coolest commemorative type coins in the entire series, the special “Specimen” New Rochelle strikes. Only 50 examples were originally struck using specially polished dies. Had these been struck on specially produced planchets and struck with more than one blow from the dies these would have been full Proof strikes. This is one of the FINEST graded and these are just so cool and very RARE! This coin is truly of MAGNIFICENT QUALITY! Truly SUPERB in every way! Glassy reflective mirrors beam in the fields. The icy surfaces have a stunning, blast white, untoned brilliance that glimmers against the sharply struck devices. The eye appeal is AMAZING! PCGS 15, NGC 9, CAC 13. There are four graded SP67+ and just a single SP68 graded higher at PCGS. The current PCGS Price Guide value is listed at $16,500 and the most recent one sold for $13,200 in January 2021. The single SP68 has never sold in auction and would likely sell in excess of $35,000 should it come on the market. Good luck! PCGS# 99335 | EST: $13,000+ LOT 40 50C 1936 NORFOLK. PCGS MS68 CAC Ex Shepherd, as noted on the insert. WOW! This has to be one of the most magnificently toned Norfolk half dollars we have ever seen, and you will certainly agree! One look at the rich, multicolored patina will have you entranced and you will be captivated by the awesome eye appeal. Thanks to the somewhat busy design types, this is one of the few commemoratives that is readily available in MS68. That said, few Norfolks have this coin’s AWESOME look! The colors were imparted by long term storage in the original holder, you can see the tab pattern in the color on the obverse. Every color of the spectrum comes out when rotated in the light, from purple to gold. The surfaces are without flaw and the devices are sharply struck. The eye appeal is excellent. PCGS 218, NGC 129, CAC 94. A similar looking example, housed in an old NGC holder, realized $3,240 in April 2022. We have no doubt this coin will bring more when the hammer falls. Good luck. PCGS# 9337 | EST: $3,200+ 32

LOT 41 50C 1938-D OREGON. PCGS MS68+ CAC A VERY HIGH END and simply sensational SUPERB 38-D Oregon Trail half dollar! Indeed this is easily among the FINEST KNOWN examples of the 6,005 struck. The technical quality and visual allure are both sublime! This coin is immaculate, flawless, pristine! There are zero imperfections anywhere, even using a strong glass. Indeed, we would not have flinched if this coin was graded MS69! Every detail sports razor sharp definition, from the Indian’s headdress to the infant sitting on its mother’s lap inside the covered wagon on the reverse. A bold and brilliant luster with a frosty satin-like sheen is vibrant and captivating on the surfaces. Both obverse and reverse show spectacular toning that clings mostly to the periphery and yields to the brilliant silver confined to the centers. The toning really makes the sharpness of the devices pop off the surfaces of is awesome commemorative half dollar. PCGS 58, NGC 79, CAC 18. There are 11 in MS68+. This unforgettable coin sold for $12,925 back in the 2015 FUN auction. It is remarkable that there are 3 finer at PCGS, all MS69. There are all impounded in important collections, as none have sold since 2004! We would not be surprised if this coin hammered for more than its 2015 auction record. Bound for another top tier set! Bid accordingly. PCGS# 9349 | EST: $8,000+ LOT 42 50C 1915-S PANAMA-PACIFIC. PCGS MS67+ CAC Tied for second highest graded at PCGS and NONE are finer at CAC. This beauty is wonderfully toned and PRISTINE! We have looked this SUPERB Pan-Pac over and over with a strong glass, and there are ZERO imperfections. Perhaps the totally original color is a little deep for PCGS to call it MS68, but we would not flinch if it was in a 68 holder (no guarantees). A strong underlying luster highlights the rich verdant, azure, and aurelian toning. The devices are sharply struck and the surfaces are flawless. The eye appeal is off the charts amazing. PCGS 133, NGC 63, CAC 69. There are 29 graded MS67+ at PCGS (including no doubt some duplicate submissions in hopes of getting a 68 grade). The current PCGS Price Guide value is $10,000 and the average APR is $10,548. There are five graded MS68 finer at PCGS, none of which is CAC approved, and the last one sold over seven years ago for over $30,000! This is an amazing example of one of the most popular commemorative types. Good luck. PCGS# 9357 | EST: $8,500+ 33

LOT 43 50C 1920 PILGRIM. PCGS MS67+ Tied for second FINEST seen by PCGS! This is a beautifully preserved SUPERB GEM with exceptional everything! Richly, and originally toned in iridescent shades of full rainbow patina on both sides. The devices are sharply struck and accented by a wealth of warm, satiny luster that brings out the subtle shades of the lovely toning. Sharply struck devices stand out against essentially PRISTINE surfaces. The eye appeal is very high end and exceptionally pleasing. PCGS 15, NGC 2. The last non-CAC example sold back in June 2014, realizing $5,454. The current PCGS Price Guide value is listed at $6,000 and if one of the three MS68s that are graded finer at PCGS were to come to market, the PCGS Price Guide value of $15,000 would certainly be exceeded! A wonderful example of this early commem, one that will be a prize in any high end set! PCGS# 9359 | EST: $4,500+ LOT 44 50C 1921 PILGRIM. PCGS MS67+ CAC An unimpeachable SUPERB GEM, tied for second FINEST graded at PCGS and among the most visually appealing 1921 Pilgrim half we have seen! Clearly this impressive example has been lovingly cared for over the last 101 years, allowing it to take on a gentle blush of toning and remain in virtually PRISTINE condition! The luster is exceptionally brilliant, glowing with a warm, satiny vibrance. Coppery-orange gold clings to the periphery, while blending to a soft, sky blue, pastel rose, pale periwinkle, and iridescent hues that come to life when rotated in a light. Were it not for a microscopic tick or two, this coin may have made its way into a 68 holder; it certainly has the eye appeal! PCGS 66, NGC 38, CAC 11. PCGS has graded 10 in MS67+. The last two sold in 2021 for $6,600 and we sold a similar looking coin for $7,050 back in March 2020. The current PCGS Price Guide value is $7,500 and this coin could surpass that level when it crosses the block. A single MS68 is graded finer, a coin that has yet to sell in auction. Bound for a great set of commemorative halves and a coin that will see very strong bidding. Do not let it slip away! PCGS# 9360 | EST: $6,500+ 34

LOT 45 50C 1936-D RHODE ISLAND. PCGS MS67+ CAC Very, very HIGH END and spectacular! Among the FINEST we have offered, and with just three graded higher at PCGS, this coin is certainly among the highest graded. Flashy, brilliant mint luster has a bold, radial brilliance that rolls on with strong cartwheels. The surfaces are imbued with a subtle iridescent toning, pastel rose and gold are suffused with an icy sky blue hue. The eye appeal is exceptional in every way. PCGS 105, NGC 55, CAC 40. There are a mere dozen in MS67+ and just three finer. The most recent example to sell in auction realized $8,519 in our Regency Auction 50. A single 68 sold in our May 2018 Regency Auction for $43,475. This coin is worthy of a very strong bid for sure, and will fit nicely in any very high end set. Good luck. PCGS# 9364 | EST: $3,200+ LOT 46 50C 1936 RHODE ISLAND. PCGS MS67+ CAC This is a truly spectacular SUPERB Rhode Island half, a coin with very distinctive, essentially Prooflike lustrous brilliance. The reverse is framed in a subtle halo of rainbow toning that accents the Art Deco style portrayal of the original Puritan settler of Rhode Island meeting a Native American. The devices are crisp and the superior and brilliant surfaces are PRISTINE. We absolutely love the look of this flashy beauty! PCGS 86, NGC 58, CAC 31. There are just 10 graded MS67+ and a single MS68 finer at PCGS. The current PCGS Price Guide value is listed at $2,900 and it would not come as a shock if this SUPERB GEM sells for more. This stunning, Prooflike SUPERB GEM is a world class addition to any world class set. PCGS# 9363 | EST: $2,500+ 35

LOT 47 50C 1937 ROANOKE. PCGS MS68 CAC A SUPERB GEM! One of the FINEST graded examples extant, with just a single MS68+ graded higher! WOW! A sensationally brilliant luster swirls over extremely smooth surfaces and boldly struck design devices. The fields are flashy, the luster just jumps off the surfaces! Touches of amber-gold color, mostly at the peripheries make the design elements standout in a near 3-D effect, especially in Sir Walter Raleighís beard and ruffled collar. The surfaces are flawless and free of any kind of distracting marks or ticks. The eye appeal is virtually flawless! PCGS 31, NGC 42, CAC 17. There is a very wide range of APRs; the two most recent sold in 2021 for $4,440 and $10,800. The current Collectors Universe value is $5,800. Just a single MS68+ is graded finer. Bound for a great, high ranked Registry Set of Classic Commemoratives. PCGS# 9367 | EST: $5,500+ LOT 48 50C 1936 ROBINSON-ARKANSAS. A brilliant and bold underlying mint frost glows in the fields, accenting sharply struck devices and hints of dappled coppery color at the peripheries. The surfaces are sleek and clean, free of any distractions of any kind any where. The eye appeal is exceptional, as is the quality. PCGS 18, NGC 12. Only two have ever sold in auction, realizing $4,560 and $3,878. The current Collectors Universe value is listed at $5,000 and there are just two finer both MS68 and the last one sold all the way back in 2005 for over $20,000! Do not let this attractive SUPERB GEM pass you by! PCGS# 9369 | EST: $4,000+ 36

LOT 49 50C 1936-D SAN DIEGO. PCGS MS68 Now this is a truly UNFORGETTABLE San Diego half dollar. TOP POP and unbelievable quality everything, this is the definition of a MOOSE! WOW! Intense and brilliant mint luster booms vividly across the surfaces. Swirling cartwheels radiate, accenting the ultra sharp devices and bringing the gorgeous obverse color to life, particularly on the obverse. The reverse is mostly pearly silver with the ever lightest blush of color at the left most rim. A tiny break in the frost on the reverse is essentially invisible and otherwise it is virtually PRISTINE. The eye appeal is sensational in every way! We cannot imagine a nicer one. PCGS 4, NGC 5. Only one has ever sold, realizing a record $38,400 in April 2022. Disregard the PCGS Price Guide, as even the wholesale price guide levels have surpassed it! WOW. This is a rare treat that you have an opportunity to bid on two of the FINEST in so short a span of time. Don’t let this one pass you by! Good luck. PCGS# 9372 | EST: $25,000+ 37

LOT 50 50C 1935-S SAN DIEGO. PCGS MS68 CAC This is a STUPENDOUS and gorgeous San Diego half dollar. Bold and colorfully toned, this one ranks among the most amazing coin in this collection and is truly memorable in every way. While PCGS has graded a single MS68+ higher, we cannot imagine a nicer one! WOW! Deep, vibrant, autumnal rainbow toning envelopes both sides of this SUPERB GEM. The crimson, violet, tangerine, rose, and pale green really POP when rotated in a light. The devices are ultra crisp and the surfaces uber smooth and clean, free of distracting marks of any kind. The eye appeal is truly amazing. PCGS 8, NGC 9, CAC 3. The most recent PCGS MS68 CAC to sell realized $9,000 in January 2019, and that was the first one to sell since 2005! While the current PCGS Price Guide value is listed at $11,000 we would not be shocked at all if that level was surpassed and left in the dust when the hammer falls. Another unforgettable quality classic commemorative from this collection that will excite even the pickiest, most jaded collector. PCGS# 9371 | EST: $9,000+ NOTES 38

LOT 51 50C 1926 SESQUICENTENNIAL. PCGS MS66 CAC WOW!!! This is one of the FINEST Sesquicentennials that exists! As a type the Sesquicentennial half dollar, with its dished fields often comes with shallow, soft strikes and lack luster surfaces. It really is interesting to consider that despite a generous mintage of 141,120, relatively few survive in GEM grade, and NONE have graded in the SUPERB grades. When we sold this Premium GEM back in December 2017, there were NONE FINER. This is the opposite of what a typical Sesqui looks like. Boldly and brilliantly lustrous, well struck, and well preserved. This example is fully struck up on both sides. The reverse has a semi-reflective lustrous sheen, while the obverse possesses a more frosty-satin luster. Lovely toning at the rims frame both sides imparting a bold visual allure. This GEM Sesqui is essentially on par quality and visually with the MS66+ we sold last year. PCGS 19, NGC 32, CAC 9. This is the most recent example to sell in auction, realizing $22,325 in our December 2017 Regency Auction. PCGS has graded four finer in MS66+, and we sold the most recent of those for $37,600 in October 2021. Worthy of a very strong bid, and placement in a world class set. If PCGS were to grade a 67, it would be worth into the six figure range. This is an excellent addition for the advanced commemorative collector. Good luck. PCGS# 9374 | EST: $20,000+ 39

LOT 52 50C 1935 SPANISH TRAIL. PCGS MS67+ CAC Without a doubt, the Spanish Trail half dollar is one of the more interesting and obscure designs of the commemorative series. The cow skull on the obverse is a play on the name of Alvar Nunez Cabeza De Vaca, a Spanish explorer of the early southern portion of the United States in 1535, whose last name translates to “cow’s head.” Only 10,008 were struck, and it is one of the KEY types of the series. A fully brilliant mint luster swirls boldly on both sides accenting a blush of pearly gold. Virtually FLAWLESS, this SUPERB example has a great eye appeal. PCGS 225, NGC 129, CAC 77. PCGS has graded 41 in MS67+, a figure that no doubt includes some duplication. Only 10 are graded finer. The current PCGS Price Guide value is listed at $3,500. A great type coin, worthy of a fabulous set, especially if you demand CAC approval, as none of the MS68s have ever been approved. PCGS# 9376 | EST: $3,500+ LOT 53 50C 1925 STONE MOUNTAIN. FS-101. PCGS MS66 CAC A lovely Premium Quality example of this scarce Doubled Die Obverse variety. The doubling is most notable at STONE MOUNTAIN and the date. A warm golden-russet, olive-gray, and delicate lilac hues are accented by a glowing luster and the devices are sharp. PCGS 1130, NGC 848, CAC 356. PCGS has graded nine examples of this distinct Doubled Die variety. The current CAC CPG value is $390, and we have no doubt this lovely coin will sell for a premium bid. PCGS# 9378 | EST: $350+ 40

LOT 54 50C 1925 STONE MOUNTAIN. PCGS MS67+ CAC An exceptional Stone Mountain half dollar. Virtually pristine surfaces have a bold luster that glows with a vivacity and brilliance atypical of the type. Sharply struck devices stand out through blushes and splashes of original iridescent toning. The eye appeal is excellent. PCGS 385, NGC 216, CAC 143. There are 55 in MS67+ at PCGS, and a mere 8 coins graded finer. We sold the most recent example for $2,468 in September 2021. The current PCGS Price Guide value is listed at $2,600. The last MS68 sold back in May 2007-- that was 15 long years ago! WOW. Worthy of a strong bid. Good luck. PCGS# 9378 | EST: $2,400+ LOT 55 50C 1938-D TEXAS. PCGS MS67+ CAC This SUPERB GEM is another old friend of ours, having once sold in our October 2017 Regency Auction, lot 529, where it was described as: “Among the very finest examples of this date certified by PCGS, only two coins have received higher grades. The eye appeal of this SUPERB GEM is amazing. The obverse sees a dusting of iridescent pewter-silver and russet patina--which is the sort of look Texas halves usually have. But when you flip this lustrous coin over, and the reverse is blanketed in a rich melange of rainbow hues that blend over the intricate and well struck details. Stunning carmine, olive, magenta, aubergine, and teal hues create a stunning palette of color! Only 3,775 were struck.” PCGS 154, NGC 128, CAC 66. There are 26 in MS67+ at PCGS and just four in MS68 finer. This coin brought $3,878 in October 2017 and today it should sell for more! A fabulous toner that is worthy of the greatest toned commemorative collection ever. PCGS# 9395 | EST: $3,500+ 41

LOT 56 50C 1925 VANCOUVER. PCGS MS67+ CAC This Vancouver half dollar is off the charts AMAZING! Certainly among the FINEST graded, and totally worthy of its impressive, lofty grade assigned and CAC accolades. A beautifully toned and satiny lustrous SUPERB GEM Vancouver. Rich blue, rose, gold, teal, and coppery hues blend over near flawless surfaces imparting a bold and impressive eye appeal. PCGS 104, NGC 66, CAC 49. There are 27 examples graded MS67+ and just four finer. We sold the most recent example in our October 2020 Regency Auction 41 for $5,288. The current PCGS Price Guide value is listed at $5,000. There are just four in MS68 finer, the last one sold back in the 2011 FUN auction for nearly $15,000! With CAC approval a 68 would cost $20,000! A very important opportunity of the Registry Set crowd not to be taken lightly. PCGS# 9399 | EST: $4,600+ LOT 57 50C 1927 VERMONT. PCGS MS67+ CAC One of the most beautifully toned and high end Vermonts we have ever had the pleasure of handling. Among the FINEST graded, sitting near the apex of the PCGS Population Report. Both sides of this SUPERB GEM are awash in rich autumnal hued toning; shades of crimson, tangerine, and hints of green blend together majestically. The eye appeal and technical quality are SUPERB in every way! PCGS 88, NGC 37, CAC 23. There are a dozen graded MS67+ and only three finer. We sold the most recent for $14,688 in May 2021. We feel this monster belongs in the FINEST of sets, and it will face stiff bidding competition when it crosses the block. Good luck. PCGS# 940 | EST: $12,000+ 42

LOT 58 50C 1946 BOOKER T. WASHINGTON. PCGS MS67 CAC A beautifully toned SUPERB GEM example of this relatively common, but conditionally and visually challenging type. Seductive golden russet toning with soft verdant and violet accents around the rims. The toning spans stem to stern here, and is unbroken to the centers, and intensifying near the rims. Stunning quality and one of the finer examples graded by PCGS. PCGS 111, NGC 85, CAC 108. This pretty coin will see strong bidding, and will surpass the published levels. The first example of the 3-piece P,D,S, set we are offering in this Unforgettable collection. PCGS# 9404 | EST: $500+ LOT 59 50C 1946-D BOOKER T. WASHINGTON. PCGS MS67+ CAC A GLORIOUS SUPERB GEM Booker T. Washington half dollar! This beauty is exceptional with incredible toning and sensational eye appeal. Sunset orange and clover-green mingles over the surfaces on both sides, showing accents of original untoned silver, providing an attractive dappled look. The surfaces are essentially without flaw, and anything that keeps this SUPERB 46-D BTW from grading MS68, is only visible with the aid of a powerful loupe. The eye appeal is amazing. PCGS 74, NGC 69, CAC 61. There are 14 graded MS67+ (no doubt with some duplication), and seven in MS68 finer. The last one sold for $4,560 in March 2021. We have no doubt that this impressive looking coin will delight even the pickiest of collectors and will end up in an AMAZING set of commemoratives. It should be noted none of the PCGS MS68s have ever sold in auction. PCGS# 9405 | EST: $3,600+ 43

LOT 60 50C 1946-S BOOKER T. WASHINGTON. PCGS MS67+ CAC One of the most beautiful 1946-S BTWs we have handled. While one of the most common commemoratives in an absolute sense, the Booker T. Washington halves are VERY RARE so fine! Technically and aesthetically, this SUPERB GEM is all there, and then some! WOW! Velvety smooth surfaces show a bold, radiating satin sheen and brilliant luster. SUPERB surfaces are essentially PRISTINE and display a layer of totally original and gorgeous envelope toning that delights the eye. The reverse is truly KILLER! EXTREMELY RARE any finer, this is a very impressive SUPERB GEM for the collector. PCGS 150, NGC 135, CAC 98. PCGS has graded 19 in MS67+ with only 8 finer, all in MS68. Do not let the APRs and published levels sway your bidding plans, this exceptional example will see strong bidding for sure! Good luck. PCGS# 9406 | EST: $1,200+ LOT 61 50C 1952 WASHINGTON-CARVER. PCGS MS67+ This coin is a MONSTER TONER! If the Northern Lights collector was putting together a set of classic commemoratives, this would be his Washington Carver! Insanely toned, wildly colorful, sensational quality surfaces are just AMAZING! A superior luster blazes boldly on the surfaces, clearly amplifying the cranberry and teal-blue toning that dominate the obverse and the dappled iridescent toning on the reverse. The toning really makes the sharply struck details stand out boldly. Over the years, as toned dollars got much of the market’s attention, colorful classic commems gained a huge following as well and this one will entice even the pickiest collector! PCGS 12, NGC 5. We sold a similar toned example back in September 2016 for $7,638. The current PCGS Price Guide value is listed at $8,900 and we have no doubt today that the bidding will be as intense as the toning, leading to a very high bid! PCGS# 9434| EST: $7,500+ 44

LOT 62 50C 1936 WISCONSIN. PCGS MS68+ CAC Tied for FINEST GRADED! Not only is this coin a TOP POP, but it also has a fantastic visual quality to match the technical quality. We cannot help but marvel at this amazing Wisconsin half dollar! The surfaces are PRISTINE! Mother Nature with some aid of the cardboard holder this coin was stored in, created an awesome mix of totally original shades of golden tan and olive-gold, while accents of rose, apricot, emerald, and tangerine sparkle from all over. A thick lustrous frost belies the toning, giving the subtle shades to life. All of the details are sharply struck and stand out in fine form. The eye appeal is unforgettable! PCGS 54, NGC 61, CAC 31. PCGS has graded 13 in MS68+ and NONE FINER. The current PCGS Price Guide value is listed at $13,500. This lovely coin belongs in another top ranking Registry Set, and we expect that bidding will be as fierce as a badger when it crosses the block. Good luck. PCGS# 9447 | EST: $12,000+ LOT 63 50C 1936 YORK. PCGS MS68 CAC Ex Bruce Scher, as noted on the insert. This is one of the most visually alluring SUPERB GEM York half dollars we have ever seen (only the MS69 has more stunning color). This is a truly marvelous SUPERB GEM, only five coins have ever graded finer. Wonderful pine green toning dominates the obverse with accents of orange and crimson at the rims, while the reverse has the same tones in a more pointillistic pattern. The pristine surfaces are aglow with a vibrant, vivid luster. The strike is RAZOR sharp and the technical quality is virtually unimproveable! PCGS 44, NGC 44, CAC 17. The average APR for a PCGS MS68 CAC is $3,774 and well above the published levels. There are four in MS68+ and a single MS69 finer. Only one MS68+ sold, realizing $9,000 over three years ago and the MS69 brought six figures! LOT 64 $1 1900 LAFAYETTE. PCGS MS66+ CAC If you have been seeking a SUPERB example of this singular silver dollar commemorative type, if your hand is the last in the air on July 28, you can declare your search over. WOW! For sure, this is one of the better Lafayettes we have seen in some time. Ultra satiny mint luster blooms all over the smooth surfaces. We cannot stress enough the cleanliness of this coin. In fact, only a single well hidden reeding mark on the reverse is what keeps this coin from MS67. Clearly this wonderful coin sat in the original packaging, undisturbed for years, where it was able to acquire a layer of totally original rich (but NOT dark), blue-green and a halo of reddish gold coloration at the peripheries. Every detail is sharply impressed from a strong, forceful blow from the dies. The eye appeal is exceptional in every way and is one you won’t forget! We certainly rank it as ultra HIGH END. Ex JFS Collection; Cary and Cheryl Porter Collection, Heritage, May 2007, lot 2444; unknown intermediaries; our consignor. PCGS 107, NGC 67, CAC 27. More recently is a very wide range of APRs from $13,800 to $30,000 for non-CAC PCGS MS66+ pieces. The current Collectors Universe value is listed at $23,000 and we sold a very similar looking MS66 CAC for $22,913 in October 2021. Anything finer will cost mid five figures, so if you are looking for a truly special Lafayette dollar, do not let this one get away. PCGS# 9222 | EST: $15,000+ LOT 65 MEDAL 1925 NORSE-AMERICAN. THIN, PCGS MS66 CAC A SENSATIONAL GEM, a marvelous example of this Congressionally authorized commemorative medal that is often included as part of the commemorative half dollar collection. Tied for FINEST graded at PCGS, this coin is an old friend, sold in our Regency Auction 26. We loved it then, and we love it now! This awesome GEM is Premium Quality defined! Boasting a lovely old tone with shades of lilac-teal, amber-rose, and slate-blue that evenly coat both obverse and reverse. Well struck and beautifully preserved, this Norse medal is one of the FINEST graded, and there is no doubt as to why! Struck in 1925 to commemorate the arrival of 53 Norwegian immigrants one hundred years earlier, the Philadelphia mint struck these as medals, since a commemorative coin act did not pass Congress. However, this medal, in its three standard varieties: Thick planchet silver (mintage 33,750); Thin planchet silver, as here (mintage 6,000); and gold (mintage 100). With the much lower mintage, the Thin Planchet variety is much more elusive in such lofty states of preservation. Popularly collected alongside the 144-set of commemorative half dollars, in fact we have seen contemporary coin albums (Library of Coins, Wayte Raymond, and the like) with an octagonal opening to include this medal with the half dollars. PCGS 23, NGC 7, CAC 17. This beauty realized $9,400 in May 2018. The current PCGS Price Guide value is listed at $9,500. With none graded finer at PCGS, this coin belongs in another one of the FINEST sets of commemoratives. PCGS# 9451 | EST: $8,000+ 46

LOT 66 50C 1936 GETTYSBURG. PCGS MS67 CAC We love this SUPERB GEM. We are honored to offer it again. We sold it in our Regency Auction 50, where it was described as: “A beautifully toned MS67 Gettysburg! This special example of this popular classic commemorative is housed in an old green tag holder and features a melange of toning from the original cardboard holder. Frosty mint luster glows all over, bringing out the varied deep orange and dark violet tones. The strike is sharp and the eye appeal is awesome.” PCGS 203, NGC 111, CAC 88. This SUPERB example sold for $4,348 in spirited bidding in our January 2022 Regency Auction. The buyer has changed collecting directions and re-consigned this beauty to our sale. We have no doubt that it will excite and entice strong bidding from the commem collector. PCGS# 9305 | EST: $3,500+ LOT 67 50C 1920 MAINE. PCGS MS67+ CAC A marvelous SUPERB GEM, tied for FINEST GRADED at PCGS. Frosty, untoned satin surfaces have a thick lustrous finish on both sides. Sharply struck on both sides, and the surfaces are essentially flawless. Needless to say, this coin is extremely eye appealing. Maines are far tougher than the Pops show. PCGS 80, NGC 44, CAC 33. There are 14 in MS67+ and NONE FINER. In our Regency Auction 50, this coin brought $7,931 and the current PCGS Price Guide value is listed at $8,500. Worthy of the greatest of commemorative sets, we have no doubt it will again bring a very strong bid. Good luck. PCGS# 9326 | EST: $7,500+ LOT 68 50C 1923-S MONROE. PCGS MS66+ CAC A high grade example of this conditionally challenging early commemorative type. A thick satiny luster glows boldly on both sides, the underlying brilliance accents a hint of dappled original toning. A pleasing strike is stronger than typically seen and the surfaces are truly devoid of any serious contact. PCGS 135, NGC 82, CAC 26. There are 21 in MS66+ and just 15 finer. The most recent sold for $5,040 in May 2022, well above the PCGS Price Guide value. Anything finer will bring into the five figures. Don’t let this opportunity pass you by! PCGS# 9333 | EST: $3,600+

LOT 69 FARTH 1723 HIBERNIA PATTERN, SILVER. PCGS SP64 This is a VERY RARE silver striking of the Wood’s Hibernia Farthing struck in silver. Martin 3.2-Bc.10, Breen-171/173, W-12500. These are considered to be Rarity-5, and are among the more interesting issues collected among the early “Colonial” series. Deeply toned, flashy silver surfaces gleam with a vibrant brilliance. The dappled iridescent toning attests to the originality. The devices are crisp and stand out boldly. The eye appeal is quite nice. Approximately two dozen were located in England in the 1950s. Prior to that, the silver Wood’s Hibernia pattern farthings were quite rare. (Eric Newman noted his example was “probably unique.” The hoard was handled by Baldwin’s in London, and were descended generation to generation from the time of striking to the 1950s in the Woods family. Over the years, these were dispersed to colonial coin collectors here in the United States, and are infrequently offered in the market place today, especially in this quality. PCGS 9, NGC 0. The most recent one to sell realized $7,800 in August 2021. The current PCGS Price Guide value is listed at $9,500 and there are seven graded higher at PCGS, none of which have sold since August 2015. A great high end, silver colonial coin in near GEM quality that is at an affordable price point. Bidding activity will be intense. PCGS# 179 | EST: $6,500+ LOT 70 1/2C 1805 MEDIUM 5, NO STEMS. C-1. NGC MS64 BN The C-1, B-1 1805 half cent is identified by the recut 5 and the stemless wreath. While it is a Rarity-1 in all grades, it is quite scarce in Choice Mint State. Sharply struck central devices, indeed, the only weakness we see is on the dentils from a slightly misaligned die. Satiny chocolate brown patina graces the fields, while some hints of original red clings to the recesses of the design elements. There are just a few ancient ticks seen with the aid of a glass and no serious discolorations, or other flaws that are often associated with early copper. The eye appeal on this highly collectible Mint State Draped Bust half cent is great. PCGS 4, NGC 2. This coin most recently sold in our 2022 Central States Regency Auction for $3,995. The buyer has switched directions and re-consigned it to our Regency Auction 53. A wonderful type coin that may not be offered again for quite some time. PCGS# 1081 | EST: $4,000+

LOT 71 1/2C 1806 C-1. SMALL 6, NO STEMS. PCGS MS64BN CAC A near-GEM Draped Bust half cent with a great look and fantastic pedigree. High end and boldly lustrous with a lovely satin gleam. Rich, original golden brown surfaces show accents of olive and steely-brown patina which blend with very subtle hints of faded original mint color. The devices are generally very well struck for an early copper. Close inspection does reveal a few scattered teeny ticks. Overall the eye appeal is very strong. Ex. Lee Hewitt Collection, Bowers & Merena, November 1984, lot 2781; Goodrich Collection, Goldberg’s, September 2012, lot 194; Regency Auction XXII, Legend Rare Coin Auctions, July 2017, lot 1; Regency Auction 48, Legend Rare Coin Auctions, October 2021, lot 219; our consignor. PCGS 12, NGC 3, CAC 5. This is the most recent PCGS/CAC coin to sell realizing $5,405 in July 2017 and October 2021, and $6,900 in 2012. The current PCGS Price Guide value is listed at $6,500 and the CAC CPG value is listed at $6,880. Just three are graded finer in the designation, this is a great example for type, variety, grade, and will make its place in a fantastic collection. PCGS# 1093 | EST: $5,500+ LOT 72 1/2C 1834 PCGS MS65 RB CAC This is a truly AMAZING GEM C-1. Only a single die pair was used to strike the entire mintage of 1834 half cents, and this one ranks among the best! An awesome pedigree adds to the allure! Blazing mint luster radiates boldly on both sides, highlighting the sensational original RED color that dominates about 75% of the surfaces. The remaining portion is a light brown with hints of steely blue that comes around when viewed in a light. Well struck from Manley State 3.0, Breen State III, which shows double die clashing. The eye appeal is spectacular! Ex Howard Newcomb, 1935; B. Max Mehl, 1935; Col. E.H.R. Green, June 8, 1936; Green Estate to St. Louis Stamp & Coin (B.G. Johnson & Eric Newman), in April 1943; Eric P. Newman; Eric P. Newman Numismatic Education Society to Missouri Cabinet, November/December 1980; Goldberg’s sale of the Missouri Cabinet, January 2014, lot 138; Bob R. Simpson Collection, Heritage, January 2022, lot 3003. PCGS 5, NGC 10, CAC 3. When this coin sold as part of the Simpson Collection, its prior pedigree was left off. In the Missouri Cabinet Collection auction, this coin realized $26,450, and had it been noted in the 2022 description it would have likely brought more than it did. This is an outstanding opportunity to acquire one of the greatest 1834 half cents! Good luck! PCGS# 1166 | EST: $8,500+

LOT 73 1/2C 1835 PCGS MS65+ RB CAC From our Regency Auction 49, where it was described as: “Only two pairs of dies were used to strike the entire mintage of 1835 half cents, the differences between the two are easily identified by the placement of the ST in STATES. The B-2, C-2 variety, seen here has the ST close. This is a high-end example, likely in the Condition Census. Only two examples have ever graded numerically higher, a 66 BN and a 66 RB. The present PQ GEM has a bold look. Mellowed red on the obverse is faded to a soft, light brown, highlighted by a warm underlying brilliance. The reverse is mostly red and brilliantly lustrous. Well struck from die state VI, with a boldly pronounced bisecting die crack on the reverse and clashed dies. The eye appeal is quite nice!” PCGS 33, NGC 23, CAC 21. There are five examples in this lofty grade at PCGS and just one finer. The only one to sell in auction was the McGuigan-Foxfire-Pogue coin that was NOT CAC and brought nearly $6,500 over five years ago. The current Collectors Universe value is listed at $8,250 and we think this coin, with its outstanding look and CAC approval will bring close to that when the hammer falls. Bound for a fantastic type or date set of Classic Head half cents! PCGS# 1169 | EST: $5,750+ LOT 74 1/2C 1842 RESTRIKE. PCGS PR65+ BN CAC B-2, First Restrike, considered to be Rarity-6. This is truly a sensational GEM! Everything about this coin screams quality, rarity, and eye appeal, a killer combination that is so desirable for the sophisticated collector. Blazing, icy smooth, boldly reflective fields look like freshly cut sheets of glass. The devices are razor sharp and have a frosty texture that provides a wonderful contrast, especially on the obverse (which has a cameo-like look). The surfaces are a deep mahogany red-brown with a fabulous teal-blue overtone and some golden-brown accents at the periphery. A strong glass fails to reveal anything more than a trivial lint mark or two; there are no flecks, flakes, spots, or any marks of any kind that distract from the sensational visual allure. Only about 20-30 are known in all grades. PCGS 2, NGC 3, CAC 3. This is the sole PR65+ BN and there are just three graded finer in the designation at PCGS. There are no recent auction comps, but in PR65+ BN, the PCGS Price Guide value is listed at $18,500. A world class Proof half cent, and worthy of a fabulous cabinet. Good luck. PCGS# 1263 | EST: $12,500+
