In the coin world one can say THIS coin ranks among the greatest original toned displays Mother Nature has ever done. The quality of the coin is remarkable too. Remarkably clean and satiny smooth surfaces are all over. There is a touch of light irregular toning in the right field-not any scuffs. The reverse there seems to be an adjustment mark on the shield. There is one microscopic tick on the head (you need a glass to see it). A soft but fully glowing luster beams from all over. All of the toning is 100% natural. It probably took Mother Nature years to create the iridescent color swirls on the obverse. Gorgeous rings of blue/green/violet/gold open into puffy original white surfaces. The reverse is puffy original white with a hint of gold. Miss Liberty and every detail is frosty and is fully struck. The eye appeal is so strong, your eye balls will pop out and roll around! PCGS 4, NGC 8, CAC 2. No PCGS CAC piece has ever been sold via auction for this date and grade. There is a Collectors Universe of $17,500. We can’t imagine this coin not by passing that number the day bidding opens. This is a dealer’s long held personal coin. We can tell you he struggled hard to let it go. You’ll know whose coin it is if you attend the auction and see someone in the back with tears and tissues when it goes off. No joking around, this coin means that much to him. One look and you too will forever put this coin in a special place in your heart. Good luck. We expect strong bidding here. This is a 1 in a million type of SUPERB GEM toned piece! PCGS# 5585 | ESTIMATE: $2,000+ LOT 249 25C 1902-O PCGS MS66 A lovely, high grade 1902-O quarter, a remarkable condition rarity in the series. Among the highest graded from an original mintage of 4,748,000, this totally original toned GEM is tied in grade with the Clapp- Eliasberg-JFS-Thomas and Pittman-Friend- Duckor coins, putting it in special company in the condition census. Brilliant satiny luster blooms all over, bringing out the coppery-gold and dappled cobalt that is seen on the obverse; the reverse is mostly untoned with a pearly/ silver hue. A strong glass and extremely careful inspection reveals a few tiny lines that are masked by the extremely attractive color. We are not entirely sure what CAC was seeing when they did not bean this PQ GEM. PCGS 9, NGC 1. The most recent MS66 example of this date was the Gene Gardner coin, graded by NGC, and sold for $7,050 in October 2015. This is NOT that coin. There are just five coins graded finer, most in MS66+. In MS66 the current Collectors Universe value is listed at $8,500. The Eliasberg example is CAC approved and most recently sold in May 2010 for $14,950. LOT 250 25C 1907-O PCGS MS67 CAC Ex Duckor-R.S.D. Collections, as noted on the insert. A marvelous SUPERB GEM from one of the more famous sets of Barber quarters ever assembled. It is not a shock as to why it has now been in two GREAT collections--it is THAT high end! The toning on both sides is a marvel to behold! Clearly this coin sat for ages wrapped in tissue and then placed into an old collector envelope. You can see the tiny folds from the tissue impressed in the toning as subtle breaks in the color. Coppery-orange-rose color blends with a slate-blue, icy lilac, and rosy-pewter. The hues are vividly brought to life by a strong satin-like mint frost that glows from below the color. Even using a strong glass, we are unable to locate a single flaw or any area of striking weakness. You cannot beat the eye appeal! PCGS 5, NGC 2, CAC 8. Clearly there is duplication in the CAC populations. The most recent example to sell in auction realized $9,988 in our Regency Auction 25, which was the former Gene Gardner coin. A single MS67+ is graded finer. The current Collectors Universe value is listed at $10,000 and in 67+ the CU value is listed at $15,000. We can understand if this SUPERB coin brought a RECORD price! PCGS# 5647 | ESTIMATE: $8,500+ LOT 251 25C 1908-S PCGS MS65+ CAC Richly and deeply toned, this is a wonderful GEM example of this conditionally rare date. Only 784,000 were struck and very few were saved from circulation--this date is VERY RARE in GEM and finer grades, each one is a marvel of survival. This one has a wonderful layer of deep multicolored patina that shows off subtle shades as its rotated in a light. Well struck and very pleasing, this one is a real delight to behold with totally original eye appeal. PCGS 14, NGC 13, CAC 7. This is the ONLY MS65+ graded, and there are only 11 finer, with a single MS68 being the finest. The current PCGS price is $4,250 and we suspect that bidding on this GEM will exceed that level! A real prize for those demanding eye appeal and originality. PCGS# 5652 | ESTIMATE: $3,500+ 105

LOT 290 50C 1920-D PCGS MS65+ CAC WHOA! This is just a stunning 20-D half! Truly a high end, Premium Quality GEM that is among the FINEST KNOWN. This is the ONLY MS65+ and there are seven coins reported on the PCGS Population Report in MS66 as the FINEST. Exceptionally smooth, frosty fields have a thick, satiny mint luster that gleams all over on both sides. The fields and devices are free of any distracting marks of any kind. In fact, even with the aid of a powerful loupe, we are unable to detect anything other than the barest trace of contact anywhere. The surfaces have a stunning pearlescent texture all over that shimmers around the sharply struck up devices. Every intricate detail is essentially fully formed; even the thumb has a bold outline, and all the drapery lines are fully formed. The eye appeal is spectacular in every way. PCGS 47, NGC 15, CAC 8. This is the ONLY MS65+ at either service The last regular PCGS MS65 CAC sold for $27,025 in our September 2018 Regency Auction and a PCGS MS66 CAC sold in the 2018 FUN auction for $87,000. LOT 291 50C 1927-S PCGS MS65 CAC There was a three year gap where no half dollars were struck, resuming coinage at the San Francisco mint only in 1927. This coin is a true GEM in every sense. A brilliant mint luster is very flashy and the way the coin has toned, it has a distinctive look. The crisply struck up details are distinctly frosty and they create an almost cameo look that is truly unique. Mottled gold, rose, and lilac iridescent pastel hues blend for to create great look. The outline of the old paper wrapper is clearly visible. A bold luster radiates on both sides, the reverse totally original silver, that side shielded from the roll. The quality and eye appeal are SUPERB. PCGS 4, NGC 1. Nothing finer than MS66 FBL has sold in auction. PCGS has a $6,500 valuation in MS66+ FBL and $20,000 in 67 FBL. Watery mirrored fields are framed by a delicate iridescent toning, attesting to the originality. The eye appeal is excellent, and even with a powerful glass we are unable to locate anything worthy of mention. PCGS 175, NGC 296, CAC 78. The most recent example to sell in auction realized $3,050 in a May 2019 Internet auction, and before that, we sold one in our May 2019 Regency Auction 32 for $3,173. LOT 323 $1 1795 SILVER PLUG. PCGS AU50 Silver-plug dollars are a very interesting artifact of the early U.S. Mint. In the earliest days, it was of the utmost importance to ensure the the weight and composition of precious metal coins met the letter of the law. Many early coins show file marks, known as adjustment marks, that appear on coins that were overweight; the planchets were filed lightly to take the weight down to proper levels before striking. For underweight planchets, a small hole was drilled (generally in the center) and a heavier plug of silver was inserted before striking. It was easier to do this than to melt and reroll the blanks. Of all the varieties of 1795 Flowing Hair dollars, the B-7, BB-18, is seen more frequently with a Silver Plug than any other die marriage. The presently offered coin clearly shows a large plug right in the center of the planchet. Pleasing olive, russet, and tan patina bathes both sides of this highly attractive AU coin. A couple of scattered light marks are accounted for but do not detract. The strike is very bold and pleasing. There is a small planchet flaw at the lower reverse, mint made. PCGS 4, NGC 4. The most recent example had extensive adjustment marks that crossed the central obverse, which realized $38,400. This coin sold in our July 2017 Regency Auction for $43,475, and the current Collectors Universe valuation is $55,000. Decidedly RARE any finer. . Splashes of golden-tan toning frames the peripheries, forming a frame around the silver centers. Nicely struck and both sides show just a trace of wear on the surfaces. Totally free of any distracting problems, the surfaces are very high quality. PCGS 58, NGC 37, CAC 5. This coin most recently sold via public auction in February 2013. More recently an example brought just $7,200 in the 2019 FUN auction. Early dollars with CAC approval are quite difficult to find, and always bring a premium. The central obverse is mainly untoned, with just a touch of clear gold, which then blends to a deeper, amber-gold that mingles with brilliant cobalt-teal at the rims. The reverse is ensconced in a heavier blue and rose hue. The devices are sharply impressed by a forceful blow from the dies.
