LOT 151 5C 1903 PCGS PR67+ CAM CAC ULTRA black and white contrast. The depth of the mirrors is like looking at a midnight, starless sky. Additionally, there is tremendous clarity and cleanliness. The question comes to mind, what does PCGS want in order for a coin to merit a Deep Cameo designation, because this piece is as close as you can get. Eye popping eye appeal is credited not only to the amazing fields but also to the depth and breadth of the mint frost on the devices. If not for a faint hairline on the cheek, which requires powerful magnification to even see, this coin would be a candidate for a PR68 holder. PCGS 23, NGC 11, CAC 24. LOT 156 5C 1917 PCGS MS67+ We love everything about this marvelous SUPERB GEM. This piece is fresh to market having been away for many years. The surfaces ooze with near full perfection. Only if you use a really strong glass can you see a single grease dot (Mint made). A stunning intense headlight luster beams from all over. If you turn out the lights you can see this coin from a block away. A beautiful mix of gold frames the rims and opens into pale lilac/ nickel blue colors. PCGS has graded 2 in MS67+ and 3 coins in MS68 (two are impounded in collections). The last piece to sell in auction brought $12,337 in December 2016 (not this coin). Not only is it high grade, but the visual allure is outstanding. Sharply struck design elements, boldly lustrous surfaces, and exceptional preservation combine with pale, pastel, multi-hued iridescent toning on both sides. To be graded so fine, you know the surfaces are clean and free of any distracting marks. A dusting of gold, icy blue, and a delicate peach-tan that blends with the warm nickel silver tone enhances the eye appeal. PCGS 28, NGC 5, CAC 5. There are just four finer, 3 in MS66+ and 1 in MS67. The most recent example sold for $7,500 in March 2019 and the current PCGS Price Guide is $7,500. Keeping in mind that a 66+ will likely cost over $17,500 with CAC approval, this GEM will delight anyone looking for a really high end example for their set. PCGS# 3935 | ESTIMATE: $6,500+ LOT 159 5C 1918 PCGS MS66+ This is a gorgeously toned example of this early Buffalo nickel date. Conditionally rare, this coin ranks among the top 20 seen by both PCGS and NGC. Highly lustrous surfaces have a bold sunset blend of gold, yellow, orange, and crimson at the lower obverse rim with brilliant sky blue and rose color. A similar toning pattern is seen on the reverse. We only note a few tiny ticks scattered about, visible with a very powerful loupe. PCGS 5, NGC 0. There is only a single example that has sold, back in 2016. The current PCGS value is listed at $2,650 and this coin should hit that level, and keep in mind that a 67 has a value that is more than ten times higher! A surprisingly strong luster beams vividly from all over. Both sides are enlivened by even gold/lilac/pale nickel blue colors. These too look like album toning. All of the details are sharply struck and stand out. PCGS 28, NGC 5. PCGS has graded 4 in MS66+. The last 1918D PCGS MS66+ to sell in auction was a CAC piece. That piece brought $12,000 in April 2019. The current Collectors Universe Value is $13,500. Finding these pre 1920 dates really nice with some color and great strike is really difficult. LOT 161 5C 1918-S PCGS MS65 BOLD DIE CLASH What a cool coin! We recently submitted this coin to PCGS because the die clashes were so prominent that we wanted them on the insert. Prior to this coin being struck, the dies came together without a planchet, thus clashing the dies. Traces of the reverse buffalo can be seen surrounding the Indian’s portrait, but it is the mirror image of E PLURIBUS UNUM, which is seen right below the Indian’s chin, that makes it look like he has quite the scruffy beard. Despite the clashing, the devices are very nicely rendered by an exacting blow from the dies. Every detail is nicely formed and stands out with a bold effect. Brilliantly lustrous surfaces show off a wonderful nickel silver coloration that is quite pleasing to the eye. We note a minor spot on the reverse which may be the only thing that precluded CAC approval of this GEM. PCGS 37, NGC 17. The current PCGS Price Guide value lists a $12,500 value in MS65. With just five coins graded finer, this impressive GEM will see substantial bidding from anyone looking to put together a really cool set of Buffalo nickels. Keep in mind that a 65+ is going to cost around $25,000 (if you can find one), and the lone MS66 is impounded in a major collection, and would likely bring a record price. This lovely example has the extra character the clashes bring, and should see spirited bidding! Good luck! PCGS# 3940 | ESTIMATE: $10,000+ LOT 162 5C 1919-D PCGS MS66 A very impressive, high end GEM that has been off the market for ages! A notoriously difficult date to find with a sharp strike, this wonderful coin has full rendered definition in all areas, including the Buffalo’s haunches, horn, and tail. The surfaces display an even pewter-nickel with pale, pastel iridescent tones that enhance the SUPERB eye appeal. What a great coin worthy of a very high end set! PCGS 17, NGC 2. There are just three coins graded finer, all MS66+. Last appearing in a July 2003 auction, this coin sold for $10,350 back then. Keep in mind that the last non-CAC coin (and we cannot see why CAC did not bean this beauty) sold in June 2014 for $10,869. PCGS lists the value at $14,500 and the only MS66+ to ever sell was the one in the Angel Dees Collection, which we sold in December 2016 for $19,975. This is a very difficult coin for the most advanced of collectors. PCGS# 3942 | ESTIMATE: $11,000+ 68

Prior to that one selling, one sold in the 2018 FUN auction for $1,260. The current PCGS value is $1,600 and this one, with its bold eye appeal should see very strong bidding. RARE any finer. PCGS# 3949 | ESTIMATE: $1,200+ LOT 164 5C 1923-S PCGS MS65+ CAC ONE OF THE FINEST. Here’s what differentiates this coin from the others grading MS-65+, the CAC sticker! It takes a special coin, like this one to receive the coveted green bean. Why? Because there are so many areas where the coin could be lacking, but FORTUNATELY, this coin doesn’t have any of those issues. In fact, quite the opposite. Sporting a full strike which includes the legend, date, mintmark and design details on both the Indian’s braid and the bison’s hair, this beauty is a NOTCH ABOVE its competitors. Additionally, the swirling mint bloom and luster graced by blond overtones adds to the appeal. One or two tiny marks are noted but only with a magnifying glass. PCGS 67, NGC 40, CAC 11. Tied for FINEST graded at PCGS, this is a trophy coin needed by anyone building the #1 PCGS Registry Set! But it is more than that, the technical quality is exceptional, we truly believe that if this was a common date, it probably would have been designated an MS66! It is really that high end! Outstanding surfaces rank among the best we have ever seen. We used a strong glass and really looked around; all we found was a tiny tick on the reverse. There really are NO imperfections here. A bold and glowing luster can be seen from feet away. Both sides enjoy some of Mother Nature’ best work-- there is a mix of nickel/lilac/gold colors spread all over. Every single feature is fully struck and is really “knife” sharp (something we never see on a 26-S, a date that is notoriously weak in strike). The details actually stand out. You do NOT need a glass to see the full split on the tail. Again, we never see 1926-S in this amazing state of preservation. The eye appeal is mind boggling! PCGS 17, NGC 10, CAC 4. PCGS has graded only 3 in MS65+. None of these have ever been sold via auction. The current Collectors Universe Value is $230,000. All of the others MS65’s are locked up in major collections. This is one of the more eye-poppingly toned examples we have seen, boasting gold, pink, and sky-blue shades can all be seen in varying degrees as the coin is rotated in a light. PCGS 16, NGC 6, CAC 3. The toning and eye appeal surpass that of the Angel Dees coin we sold in December 2016 for $10,281 (which was not CAC). The only CAC-approved example sold in August 2012 - even years may as well be forever ago! Clearly these do not appear with any kind of frequency and there is just a single 67+ graded finer, which has never sold in auction. The devices are boldly struck up from an expertly executed blow from the dies. The eye appeal is excellent. PCGS 17, NGC 12. We had the pleasure of selling the two most recent examples; one in October 2017 for $11,750 and the other was the Angel Dees coin, which sold for $12,338. The current PCGS Price Guide value is listed at $13,500. There are two MS68+s graded finer, one of which is in the 2019 ANA auction, but had not hammered at the time of writing this description. Worthy of a very high end set and note that no MS68 has ever been awarded a CAC bean, so if you are waiting for one, that wait is futile! PCGS# 3980 | ESTIMATE: $10,000+ LOT 172 5C 1937-D 3 LEGGED. PCGS MS64 Quite CHOICE! We are not sure why this coin did not sticker at CAC. The eye appeal is wonderful. A frosty mint luster accents the soft pastel iridescent hues when viewed in a light. Well struck for the issue, the details are essentially full, including the rough textured surfaces. One of the most famous coins in existence, even non-numis- matists have heard about the 3-Legged Buffalo nickel. This variety was created when a mint employee over zealously filed down some clash marks on this reverse die, eliminating one of the front legs. This near-GEM is about as high a grade as most collectors can obtain. PCGS 202, NGC 226. The last one of these in a PCGS holder to sell brought $5,416 in a June 2018 auction. Prior to that, one sold for $8,400 and the current PCGS Price Guide value is listed at $7,000. Quite scarce any finer, this very Choice example will delight any collector looking for an example of this key issue. PCGS# 3960 | ESTIMATE: $4,800+ 74

LOT 173 5C 1937-D 3 LEGGED. PCGS MS65 CAC One of the famous KEY 20th century issues, the 3 Legged 1937-D is known outside of numismatic circles, and many people can remember searching their pocket change for an example. GEMS like the one offered here are few and far between, and while we have had the pleasure of selling two other PCGS MS65s this year, neither had the OUTSTANDING eye appeal of the presently offered example. An ember-like, satiny luster provides a strong brilliance that back lights the gorgeous, pastel iridescent toning. Shades of rose, teal, gold, and lavender grace both sides. The strike is bold, and the surfaces are exceptionally clean and free of any post-minting flaws. The eye appeal is exquisite! This popular variety was created when an employee of the Denver Mint discovered that the dies were seriously clashed. In an effort to remove the clash marks, the inexperienced worker took an emery board and without realizing removed not just the marks, but also removed one of the buffalo’s legs. This popular variety has become so beloved by collectors that it is now treated as a regular issue with a listing in the Guide Book and in old collector albums. PCGS 54, NGC 56, CAC 33. The last PCGS MS65 CAC coin sold in auction in the 2016 ANA auction, a coin that realized $25,850. The current PCGS Price Guide value is $26,500 and this KEY issue is quite RARE any finer; less than two dozen examples have graded finer at PCGS - precious few for collectors looking to add a high grade example for their set. This makes a beautifully toned MS65 a great choice for most advanced collectors, and we suspect there will be strong bidding to take this one home! PCGS# 3982 | ESTIMATE: $22,000+ 75

LOT 174 5C 1937-S PCGS MS67+ This is the epitome of superb quality. A blazing ball of nickel-silver luster beams all over on both sides of this beautifully preserved MS67+. Sharply impressed devices show exacting detail from a precision blow from the dies. The icy lustrous surfaces radiate with a dramatic vibrance. Delicate pastel iridescent toning is dusted across both sides, imparting a stunning visual allure. PCGS 12, NGC 3. Only CAC approved examples have sold, realizing in the general $9,000 to $12,000 range and the current PCGS value is listed at $10,500. Only two have graded higher, both in MS68. What a great coin, destined for a great set. PCGS# 3983 | ESTIMATE: $7,000+ LOT 175 5C 1914 PCGS PR67+ CAC OUTSTANDING! Really, this is one of the prettiest, most originally toned SUPERB GEM 1914 Matte Proof nickels we have had the honor of offering! The technical and visual qualities of this beauty are indeed superior to the vast majority of any grade we have seen. The surfaces are exceptionally clean, and have a bold sandblast luster. Wonderfully colorful with pastel iridescent tones on the obverse and a richer orange-peach with accents of magenta and teal mixed in for good measure. The strike is razor sharp, and the devices look like they were carefully carved by hand. All that is left to say is WOW! PCGS 111, NGC 65, NGC 66. There are 20 graded PR67+ at PCGS. The current PCGS Price Guide value is $8,500 and the most recent examples were all sold by us, one in June 2019 for $9,400 and the other two both sold for $7,931 in September 2018 and January 2019. Only 16 are graded PR68 finer, and this one rivals the quality of many of those! Good luck! PCGS# 3991 | ESTIMATE: $7,500+ 76

LOT 176 5C 1915 PCGS PR67+ CAC This SUPERB GEM is very high end! We love the look of it - everything about it is pleasing and original. The satiny matte Proof finish glows in the light with a strong brilliance. Bright nickel-silver fields gleam, bringing life to the virtually perfect surfaces. As you rotate the coin in the light, a pale dusting of iridescent blue, gold, and rose tone comes out. Sharply struck devices show off pinpoint definition on both sides. A tiny fleck or two can be seen with a strong glass, none of which have any impact on the SUPERB GEM eye appeal. PCGS 78, NGC 34, CAC 41. PCGS has graded 13 in PR67+ and just eight finer. The most recent example sold in our May 2019 Regency Auction for $8,519 and the current PCGS Price Guide value is listed at $9,500. Keep in mind that a PCGS PR68 CAC will cost $30,000- $35,000! This beautiful coin will delight anyone looking for a SUPERB GEM that ranks among the best of the best for the date, without a five figure price tag; though when the hammer falls on this beauty, it may well bring close to that level! LOT 180 5C 1936 BRILLIANT. PCGS PR68+ This is a STUNNING Brilliant 1936 Proof Buffalo, among the VERY FINEST KNOWN examples, the only one in PR68+ and just two PR69s graded higher. This beauty is truly spectacular in every way. An AMAZING and totally original SUPERB GEM. Exceptionally bold, brilliant, reflective mirrors beam from all over on both sides. The surfaces are evenly toned with soft pastel iridescent toning that, especially on the reverse, really pops when rotated in a light. Shades of rose-gold, peach, opal, and vivid pink hues really delight the eye. The smooth mirrors are PRISTINE; sleek and clean, with an awesome eye appeal. AMAZING! PCGS 1, NGC 1. The surfaces are fresh and lustrous nickel-silver-gray with absolutely stunning toning. Light champagne, gold, lilac, peach, and rose hues radiate with the boldness of the mint luster. All the devices are fully struck and exceptionally bold. A rarity in the Jefferson nickel series, especially so well preserved. The Doubled Monticello is a misnomer, it is a true Doubled Die Reverse, with FIVE CENTS also boldly doubled. PCGS 3, NGC 0. LOT 184 5C 1939-D REVERSE OF 1938. PCGS MS67+ FS WOW and DOUBLE WOW! TIED FOR FINEST GRADED! Glistening cartwheel luster flows over immaculate surfaces enhanced by halcyon toning with a trace of soft peach hues around the border. Under high magnification, a couple of tiny imperfections are noted - a small contact mark on Jefferson’s head and a fleck of dirt on his cheek. A prize for the collector looking for the CREME DE LA CREME! Struck from two different die pairs. One (1938) has the more indistinct, wavy steps. On the second reverse, the steps were strengthened and more fully delineated on the reverse of 1940. Neither is scarcer than the other, however, it seems to us it would be tougher to get the Full Steps designation on the reverse of 1938 because the dies were not cut with the same clarity as the reverse of 1940. PCGS 8, NGC 5. The current Collectors Universe value is listed at $7,500 and there are just two auction records, one in the 2019 ANA auction at $2,640 and the other selling in March of 2016 for $6,463. Not many opportunities come along to obtain an example of this exceedingly tough issue, so don’t miss the boat. The other example is the one we sold in May 2018 for $21,738 on an estimate of $15,500-$16,500. We anticipate this one will sell for a similar price today. LOT 187 5C 1963 PCGS MS66+ FS The Philadelphia mint churned out nearly 176 million nickels in 1963, with evidently little care for striking quality. So many of these are poorly struck that examples with full steps on the reverse are very rare today. Indeed, after 32+ years of grading just 41 examples have graded in MS66 or finer at PCGS. The present GEM has a bold satiny mint luster and a delicate iridescent patina over the original nickel-silver surfaces. Every detail of Monticello, including all six steps are fully rendered by an exacting blow from the dies. There are no more than one or two very minor, trivial ticks that would keep this coin from an even higher grade. PCGS 4, NGC 0. None have ever sold in auction, but PCGS CoinFacts estimates a value of $2,000 in this lofty grade. There is just a single example graded finer, which too has never sold in auction. This impressive GEM will find itself right at home in the FINEST of Jefferson nickel Registry Sets. We do expect intense bidding interest for it from specialists when it crosses the block. There are a few tiny contact marks that we note under a powerful loupe. The eye appeal is excellent. PCGS 3, NGC 0. The most recent example realized $9,400 in our May 2019 Regency Auction. LOT 190 H10C 1800 LIBEKTY. PCGS MS65 CAC What an AMAZING Draped Bust half dime! Legend Rare Coin Auctions is proud to offer this stunning, beautifully toned GEM example that is fresh to the market and extremely high end for the grade. A condition census LM-3, which is rated as Rarity-4, the LIBEKTY variety was created when the engraver utilized a broken R punch with the loop in the R open, creating a letter similar to a K. Nearly fully struck, with razor sharp definition in most places, there is just a touch of weakness on the eagle’s right wing and the right most clouds above the wing. A bold, satiny mint luster rolls unimpeded on both sides, which is especially vivid towards the peripheries. A touch of gold and emerald at the rims blends to an even cobalt and teal patina that is deep, but becomes quite vivacious when rotated in a light. Light clash marks are seen with the aid of a powerful glass as are a few tiny stray ticks noted for the sake of full disclosure, but are irrelevant in terms of the technical and aesthetic quality, which this one possesses in spades! Truly a gorgeous example! Housed in an old green tag holder, the LIBEKTY feature is not designated on the holder, and has the generic PCGS # 4264. We cannot trace a modern provenance for this coin, thus we believe that the last time this GEM sold in auction was when it was “raw.” Housed in a “Generation 3.1” old green tag holder, which was in use from March 1993 to September 1998. The Norweb Collection, Part 1, October 1987 had two GEM examples, and this is NOT one of them. Nor does it match any of the other high grade examples sold in that era, including the NGC MS66 in the 1990 Boys Town Sale. For the PCGS# 4264 as noted on the insert: PCGS 4, NGC 7, CAC 1; just two are graded finer, a 66 and a 68. PCGS has graded 1 LIBEKTY in 65, with three finer. The current PCGS Price Guide value is listed at $55,500 and the last time the MS65 sold was in the 2008 FUN auction for $80,500. The Norweb:309 coin, graded MS65+ CAC, sold in the 2015 ANA for $47,000 (this coin is much more evenly toned and eye appealing) and we think it should sell for more. This is a real prize for the advanced type, date, or variety collector. A WORLD CLASS GEM for a world class collection. Who knows when the opportunity to acquire another one will present itself! LOT 191 H10C 1837 NO STARS. LARGE DATE. PCGS MS67 This stunning SUPERB GEM is TIED FOR FINEST GRADED at PCGS! The eye appeal of this impressive jewel is beyond exceptional. Sharply struck devices stand out with razor sharp definition. A dusting of iridescent dove, gold, lilac, and pearly silver gleams when you rotate the satiny surfaces in a light. The obverse especially really pops! It is hard to imagine a finer example! Many collectors over the years preferred Christian Gobrecht’s original design without the stars on the obverse as seen here. The design is more cameo like and balanced. Struck for only two years, this is a very popular type coin. PCGS 6, NGC 8. The most recent example to sell in auction was the Pogue coin, which brought $29,375 in March 2017. We sold a PCGS/ CAC coin in our September 2016 Regency Auction for $20,563 and this coin will realize a strong bid. The current PCGS Price Guide value is $27,000 and there are NONE finer. PCGS MS67 Ranking among the top seven graded at PCGS, the present MS67 1837 half dime is an intriguingly appealing SUPERB GEM example of this first year of issue Seated Liberty half dime, featuring Christian Gobrecht’s classic No Stars design. Brilliant, frosty mint luster has a rich, satiny finish on both sides, which are mostly untoned with just the faintest pale golden-tan that accents the surfaces and adds to the substantial visual allure. Sharply struck up from broken dies, substantial die cracks are seen on both the obverse and reverse. A microfleck or two can be seen with a strong glass on the reverse, but there are no visually distracting lines, marks, or anything else that would affect the bold eye appeal. PCGS 5, NGC 4, CAC 6. The three most recent PCGS graded auction appearances were for the same coin, which most recently sold in our September 2018 Regency Auction for $15,863; prior to that the Pogue coin sold for $28,200. We rarely have ever seen such ultra deep mirrors or contrast like this one on any 1856 coin so dramatic; they have amazing clarity and nearly blinding reflection. Seeing is believing (and blinding)! There are some Mint made dies lines, but overall, the fields are super clean. A very light hint of ORIGINAL lilac toning covers parts of both sides. We bought it from a deal where it had been with the same family since it left the Mint! It came out of the middle of a cellophane wrapper. LOT 198 10C 1798 LARGE 8. PCGS MS64 CAC Ex Eliasberg. This is a borderline-GEM example of this scarce die marriage, and one of the FINEST KNOWN examples, well up in the condition census for the JR-4 Large 8 variety. Bold, pearly satin luster graces both sides, with flashes of semi- reflective accents when rotated in a light. Brilliant silver blends with pale gold and delicate tangerine that is dusted around the peripheral details on the obverse while the reverse has a richer blue and somewhat deeper gold hues. Mostly well struck there is touch of weakness on the stars to the left and the central reverse, but overall the strike is sharper on this coin than most seen. Struck from an intermediate state of the obverse die, a crack runs from TY in LIBERTY to Liberty’s nose. Also struck from clashed dies, but the die break does not continue from the nose back to the rim at about 3:00 as seen on the Ed Price-Brent Pogue coin. The eye appeal is exceptional, equal to the importance of the Eliasberg provenance. Ex lot 1045 from the May 1996 Bowers and Merena / Stack’s sale of the Louis Eliasberg Collection. No prior pedigree information is given, thus it is likely from the Clapp Estate, which in 1942 was purchased by Eliasberg en bloc, forming the core of his legendary collection. PCGS 4, NGC 4 (as a date), CAC 4. The most recent PCGS MS64 to sell in auction was the Ed Price- D. Brent Pogue example that sold for $82,250 in May 2015. LOT 199 10C 1837 NO STARS. LARGE DATE. PCGS MS66 CAC You have to love this design! Christian Gobrecht’s original design without the stars on the obverse is quite elegant and cameo like. This marvelous GEM example is awash in original lilac-dove patina, which is enlivened by a vibrant luster. Accents of gold and rose are noted, brought to life when rotated in the light. The strike is complete and razor sharp, struck from a broken obverse die with a dramatic die crack that starts at the rim, going into the base, and up to the knee. The eye appeal is spectacular to say the least and among the absolute FINEST of this first year of the Seated dime series. The high end, hand selected GEM from the world famous, best ever type set; THE TYPE SET. PCGS 6, NGC 14, CAC 2. The last three appearances of a PCGS/CAC example was the same coin, most recently selling in our August 2018 Premier Session for $13,750. The current Collectors Universe value is listed at $15,500. PCGS has graded just three coins finer, the most recent selling for $55,000 in November 2007. What a great start to a Seated Liberty dime set, or exquisite type collection. Sitting alone at the very TOP OF THE POP, this coin has it all and is the premier example for anyone building the FINEST of sets. Incredible mint frost sets the satiny surfaces ablaze with a billowing, original luster. Brilliant and mostly untoned, silver takes on the most subtle of pearly iridescent color. Sharply struck on both sides, the obverse die is bisected by an advanced die crack, starting at the rim at 11:00, just to the left of star 7, crossing from Liberty’s shoulder to the right edge of the shield, then making almost a 100 degree angle, before extending to the rim just to the bottom of Liberty’s foot. The eye appeal is simply stunning as this AMAZING example looks just as fresh today as it did when it came off the dies 181 years ago. PCGS 3, NGC 8, CAC 2.
