Apart from the activities we initiate and collaborate for, we are also trying to create awareness amongst the students about the concerns of environment and encourage them to come up with concepts that would better the global situation.

NATIONAL The Marchathon was our biggest travel relatedMARCHATHON event of the semester- it occurs on every campus across the country on the same week and is run by the National Transport Authority. This challenge aims to encourage students to get out and get walking for health, for the commute and for fun! Two weeks before the challenge occured our travel officers were given a presentation by the National Trasport Authority regarding tips on promoting and running large events like this. With the Smart- er Travel team, we helped to promote and encourage participation by setting up various sign-up stalls across campus in the lead up to the challenge, promotion by our own society members' participation in the event, and helping run various fun activities throughout the week of the event. Dozens of teams from UL participated and many were successful prize winners nationally.

We are gratified by the help of the Green THE Campus committee who has provided GREEN help setting up the society and offered CAMPUS COMMITTEEfunding for some of our socities' activitiesas our society did not receive a budget yet as a new society. We still managed to collaborate and takepart in events like Roof gardening and theRiver Bank Cleanup. It has been a learningendeavor since we have come together as a society and it would not have been so successful without their support. UL We would like to thank the UL SmarterSMARTER Travel team for collaborating with us on so many events. It has been a great TRAVEL experience learning and working with the national award winning organisa- tion on campus. Special thanks to Sean Collins for guiding the members of the newly founded Environmental Society and a commendable liaison between the Green Campus Committee, Smarter Travel and the Environmental Society. He was a constant source of assisstance and motivation.
