MESSAGE FROM PRINCIPAL It is a matter of immense pleasure and great pride that the Vidyalaya is bringing out the fourth edition of its school magazine- Irshita. It provides a platform to our young brains to develop their creativity and expression skills. Creative writing is a healthy habit which helps in keeping our kids away from many bad habits and dullness. I appreciate all the students who have contributed in one or other way in publishing this magazine. Actually it is their own magazine. They have not only written articles etc., they have also done all the work related to editing, page setting, designing etc. It developed some extra skills and confidence in them. The editorial board deserves a great pat for this mammoth task of motivating and guiding young brains and giving the magazine the desired shape and pattern. During the pandemic we have learnt that health and family are more important than other worldly things. So I appeal the parents to develop the habit of outdoor games in the children and ensure healthy diet to them. At the same time it is even more important to avoid taking junk food, stale food, too oily or too spicy food items. Let them have quality time with their grand-parents and other family members. Too much pampering does not make them strong citizens, it rather makes them mentally weak. So let them face little challenges from the very beginning in a safe way. The nation needs strong youths, not the teddy bears. I appeal to the students to learn all good skills and positive attitude required to become healthy citizens. I am sure they will uphold the reputation of the Vidyalaya, prove assets to the society and bring laurels to us. Best wishes and compliments to all! Krishan Singh Chauhan Principal 4

FROM THE PEN OF CHIEF EDITOR \"Words can be like X-rays if you use them properly -- they'll go through anything. You read and you rejoice.--Aldous Huxley Words really have powers to create wonders and these wonders become exemplary when they come from novice, pious and soul touching writers, poets and painters christened as students. It is with profound pleasure, humility and anticipation that we celebrate the launch IV edition of Vidyalaya’s Magazine “IRSHITA”. On behalf of the entire Editorial Team, I would like to extend a very warm welcome to the readership of KVS. I take this opportunity to thank our authors, editors and anonymous reviewers, all of whom have volunteered to contribute to the success of the Magazine. Thomas Jefferson has rightly quoted that \"The most valuable of all talents is that of never using two words when one will do.\" The School Magazine endeavours to capture every moment of such talents along with the years gone by.... the moments that will make you nostalgic, bring out the celebratory you with the moments you cherished. It is not only a collection of activities, but a trip down memory lane accompanied by thoughts, views and ideas of our young thinkers. This magazine is a platform that exhibits the literary skills and innovative ideas of teachers and students. The young budding authors and poets are encouraged a lot when their works are published in the magazine. Obviously, it is a rare pleasure to see one’s work in print in the school magazine. This magazine, in its current form has articles and thoughts nevertheless; it is our hope that this magazine acts as a platform through which a student may be inspired to become a writer. I hope you will read this magazine intently and appreciate the creative talent being nurtured in our students and teachers. To achieve its success, we have worked together in a team. The teamwork made our work as a family, a strong bond that leads to success. I extend my heartfelt gratitude to all the members of our team who were directly or indirectly associated with accomplishment of this herculean task. I express my considerable appreciation to all the authors of the articles in this magazine. These contributions have required a generous amount of time and effort. It is this willingness to share knowledge, concerns and special insights with fellow beings that has made this magazine possible. Thank you all!! Kamal Arora TGT(English) Editor in Chief 5

THOUGHTS ON RE-OPENING OF SCHOOL AFTER LOCKDOWN School bells are ringing loud and clear. Online classes are over. We are thankful to god that we are again getting a chance to study face to face with teachers. It is really a great day for all of us that we have gathered in school after a long time. We all know that due to spread of corona pandemic, we have decided to move all our teaching and learning activities online. For that, we and our teachers struggled a lot to cover the syllabus and to maintain the flow of study. Online learning was hard, working with computer caused pain for eyes and fingers to understand the online lessons. It is easier when we have face to face meeting with the teachers. Sometimes there were technical problems with the internet and we were missing the lessons, now we will cover that material too. One more thing, I am happy to return to school, it was boring at home and also I missed my friends and I am happy to see them. I am sure we were eagerly waiting for this day. Hezal VA 34

MY STORY Story - Once open a time, a boy named Rahul lived a village of Rajasthan. It was a winter season and every day he heard a rumour that there are ghosts in the oldest house of the village. The boy wanted to know that the ghost is real or fake. So the boy waits till it was 12:00 at night. When it was 12:00 at night he quietly went to the oldest house and started peeking from the window. He saw two men wearing ghost costumes they were planning to rob houses. So the boy informed police the fake ghosts were arrested. Moral- “Do not spread rumour” Nishit VA 35

MY MOTHER My Mother is a sacred Statue of forgiveness, selflessness Love, kindness, boldness, Fearlessness and patience. My Mother's selfless love Towards our family can never be replaced by anything or anyone in this world. In my opinion, the mother plays the most important role in a child's life. My Mother is a great person who cares for me, protects me from all the problems. 36

She will always care about My health and food. Her love for me is Unconditional and sacrifices All her needs and wishes. Mother is Symbol of love and care and no one can imagine a perfect family without her. She fills the gap in life and without her life seems meaningless. Gurman Kaur VI 37

FESTIVALS OF INDIA The religious festivals are one of the most famous festivals not only throughout India but over the world. Some of the most prominent religious festivals are Diwali, Eid-Ul-Fitr, Christmas, Guru Nanak Jayanti, Holi and many more. Diwali and Holi are the most prominent festivals of the Hindu religion. Festivals in India revolve around Lord's birthdays, traditional myths, seasonal changes, relationships, and much more. Festivals are celebrated irrespective of religion or caste in the country, bringing people closer and creating a strong bond of humanity. Festivals help us to keep connection with our roots, culture, origin and preserve it. They relieve us from monotony of life. Festivals teach us forget enmity and embrace one another and create bond of love, an environment of cultural harmony. When time of festival comes, the aura changes, positivity all around. Our daily schedules keep us away from our close friends and relatives. Festivals bring us together, it gives a good time to rejoice and built strong bonds between everyone. Celebrating festivals with everyone can help your kids to meet and greet everyone as well as they can learn the importance of togetherness. A festival is a gathering of people to celebrate something. It can also refer to a particular day or group of days when people in a country have a holiday so that they can celebrate something. Festivals may be religious festivals. They may also be events which feature music. Bhushra VI 38

MY JOURNEY TO VRINDAVAN This year in April, I went with my family to Vrindavan to drop my brother Shlok to his new school. My Nani also joined us in the trip along with my parents and brother. We travelled in our own car and went through Hisar, Delhi, Noida and Mathura. The journey was very exciting as we travelled from desert to the lands of rivers and greenery. We stayed in Vrindavan for one week. During our stay we visited lots of famous temples. We also went to Agra to see the Taj Mahal which is one of the seven wonders of the world. The best place that I visited was my elder brother’s school. It was a boarding school with a large temple, many play grounds, a swimming pool and a prayer hall. I left Vrindavan with a heavy heart as I was missing my brother, but I was happy that he has gone to a very good school. He has motivated me to study hard and join him next year. ORIGIN OF UNIVERSE The Universe is everything we can touch, feel, sense, measure or detect. It includes living things, planets, stars, galaxies, dust, clouds, light and even time. Before the birth of the Universe, time, space and matter did not exist. Our Universe began with an explosion of space itself- the Big Bang. Starting extremely high density and temperature, space, expanded the Universe cooled and the simplest elements formed. Gravity gradually drew matter together to form the first stars and first galaxies. There are 200 billion trillion stars in the Universe. Scientists have been able to segment galaxies into 4 main types-Spiral, Elliptical, Peculiar and Irregular. A Spiral galaxy is a kind of galaxy that looks like a flat, slowly rotating disk with a bulge in the centre and spiral patterns extending outward from the bulge. An Elliptical galaxy with an approximately ellipsoidal shape and a smooth, nearly featureless image. That is one of the four main classes of galaxy. A Peculiar galaxy is a galaxy of unusual size, shape, or composition. An irregular galaxy is a galaxy that does not have a distinct regular shape, unlike a Spiral or an Elliptical galaxy. ARTICLE: “A, An, The” In English there are three articles: a, an, and the. Articles are used before nouns or noun equivalents and are a type of adjective. The definite article (the) is used before a noun to indicate that the identity of the noun is known to the reader. The general rule is to use a when the indefinite article precedes a word beginning with a consonant sound and an when it precedes a word starting with a vowel sound. EXAMPLES:- I saw an accident of a car. Alex is training to be an engineer. If we are talking about a specific object, \"the\" is used. Countable singular or plural and can be used with all uncountable nouns. If we are talking about an unknown object or person a/ an, but if specified, \"the\" is used. EXAMPLE: The move is perfect. POLLUTION Pollution has rattled the natural order of our ecosystem and has brought heavy consequences to Earth’s inhabitants. The major reason for Pollution is the unchecked and illegal activities that misuse natural resources and don’t follow guidelines set by the pollution control boards across the country. Anything that causes Pollution is known as a pollutant. It can be a solid, liquid, or even gas. No matter what state the pollutant is in, it can have devastating effects on our natural ecosystem if it is left unchecked. Water pollution forms a major category of Pollution and has become an urgent crisis in many countries. We cannot survive without water. So, when most of the water bodies will dry up or get chocked, the human population will come to an end. The next big form of Pollution is air pollution. It is mainly caused by toxic exhumes from vehicles and the burning of coal for electricity. Soil pollution is witnessing an unexpected rise in recent times owing to the mass deforestation and illegal farming activities in tropical forests. Another significant yet largely ignored form of Pollution is noise pollution. The high decibel noises coming out from jets and airplanes contribute to noise pollution. It damages our eardrums and, in extreme cases, causes deafness. AFSHA VIII 44

DISCIPLINE Discipline is the trait of showing self-control and taking responsibility of your actions. Discipline is more than just training that we undertake to prepare ourselves for something. It embodies our commitment to work hard and to be the best person we can be’’. The moment you will have the power to discipline yourself to take care of your needs and do what is necessary, whether it’s in regards with work, relationships or health. There are many ways that discipline can help us with our lives. Our brains are like computer- they need constant input from external sources: food, sunlight, water…. Discipline teaches us to give our bodies what they need to keep us happy. Devanshi VI 46

DREAMS Did you also come in that peoples who have this question that what are dreams? Or how they become possible? Everyone has different answers but I have drafted this to make you know that what psychology says about it from a source of internet and a encyclopaedia of psychology. I have collected some information about psychological explanation of the dreams. According to psychology our mind makes imagination in our unconscious mind, which is a part of our wish, which sometimes we have but we don’t think about that or something which we thought whole day that comes in our imagination during our sleep….. Dreams give us a way to act out unconscious desires in the safety of an imaginary setting, because doing them out in reality is unacceptable. Kunal X 47

THE STORY OF LOVE AND EGO Once upon a time there was an island where all the feelings live together. One day there was a Strom in the sea and the island was about to get drowned. Every feeling was scared but love made a boat to escape. Every feeling boarded the boat, one feeling was left. Love got down seeing who it was. It was ego, love tried and tried but ego wasn't moving. Meanwhile the water was rising too. Everyone asked love to leave him and come in the boat but love was made to love. In the end all feelings escape and love dies with the ego on island.
