Later on the Fun started which were the games led by Mihir Kanswal, he took on the stage attracting the audience towards him. The students interacted with each other and enjoyed the games a lot. The game round proved to be an excellent ice-breaker as the freshers started to gel with the seniors as well as the college faculty. Followed by game round then comes up on stage one of our most bright and Esteemed Senior Mr. Deepak Mahimkar sharing his experiences and accomplishments with us. It is our seniors who helped us to get accustomed in this completely different environment and make our college our new home and that is exactly how Deepak made us all feel with his speech. The speech was then accompanied by a dance performed and choreographed by our amazing seniors Karuna Dubey, Khushi Ghogre, Esha Wadhwa and Ayushi Verma who danced so elegantly and we just couldn’t stop cheering.
After this, all the participants came up on the stage with their hidden talent and performed one by one for the second round of the Mr&Ms. Freshers competition. We were amazed to see all the different talents the participants were hiding all along from dancing to singing to even magic and deception, each performance is breath-taking and unique in its own way. After the Talent Round, results were declared and out of 30 contestants, 6 of them including 3 boys and 3 girls were finally selected for the final Situation handling round. The jury asked some mind twisting questions and some of them were able to tackle them very well. This was the final stage and while all the 6 contestants were eagerly waiting to know the results, the First-Year students surprised everyone who were present at the event with their mesmerising group dance.
Once the results were out, it was the stage of achievement for the contestants. The winners of Mr. and Ms. Fresher were Siddharth Shah and Angel Fernandes who then performed their ramp walk and were awarded with a sash and a bouquet of flowers by none other Finally, the vote of than our cultural head thanks was given by Mahek Mehta Mrs. Nandini Roy and Chef Chetan Motwani.
succinctly speaking about our fresher’s event, we had a plethora of games, competitions and performances that were organised by our second years and hosted by our anchors who managed to keep the crowd on their toes during the entire event with their super energetic hosting and charismatic personality.
. I fathomed the importance of having good communication and team work as this event would not have been such a great success without having each other’s back and also without the support and guidance of our principal, Our course coordinator Mr. Ashish Nevgi, teaching and non-teaching staff and our second- year seniors who made all of it happen under 2 days. I also want to thank our first-year teaching faculty, Mr. Gaurav Salian, Ms. Mohsina Ansari, Mr. Bilal Madre and Mr. Ashish Bhivase for being a part of our prestigious event. This event was one of its kind, the involvement and the true spirit that each and every student showed to make this event possible was what made this event great, these memories are to stay and will never fade away.

( FYBSC ID MICROBIOLOGY) PATRIARCHY Women who are heroic achievers are accepted and applauded; women who challenge the patriarchy-driven system are reviled and denounced. Patriarchy has been used to refer to autocratic rule by the male head of a family. This concept of patriarchy was developed to explain their dominance as a social, rather than biological, phenomenon. According to such a view, women and men are opposite, with widely different and complementary roles: The women are the weaker sex and less capable than men especially in the realm of logic and rational reasoning. Women are relegated to the domestic realm of nurturance and emotions and, therefore, according to that reasoning, cannot be good leaders in business, politics, and academia. Although they are seen as naturally fit for domestic work and are superb at being caretakers, their roles are devalued or not valued at all when compared with men's work. But why and how, after decades of activism, does the patriarchy persist? The answer may seem obvious: It persists because it maintains a system in which men hold power — political, economic, institutional — and what man would want to give that up? The women and men, they say, internalize patriarchy without realizing it, pushing aside their best judgment and sacrificing their needs to fall in line with how they think they’re supposed to behave. By not falling in line, they risk sticking out for all the wrong reasons, potentially driving away friends, partners, or professional opportunities, ultimately resulting in isolation. That fear is instilled in us early, they say: With boys being taught that crying is synonymous with weakness, for example, while girls learn that assertiveness equals aggressiveness. As adults, it manifests in other ways. In how women shoulder their family’s emotional labour, meaning the invisible mental work of holding a household and relationship together. If she registers that this is unfair and complains, she’s often told that she’s
“selfish, a drama queen, hysterical,”. Eventually, “she believes it.” That’s patriarchy The patriarchal system is neither natural nor God-given, but socially constructed; the architects of this construction are the professionals. They make the laws and rules we live by, they control our access to resources and they oversee the extraction of labour and distribution of what is produced. Markets help and obfuscate the patriarchy. Each organization or profession can be seen as a system, for instance, the health care system or the educational system. Together, professionals, professional bodies, organizations, and families form a complex interlocking web-like social system that maintains and recreates order in society. We are dependent on this system as well as oppressed by it. The system is almost compulsory, inescapable, given its reach in the world. In India, we are still struggling to free ourselves from the chains of business of society as well as of the laws. India is a land where patriarchy has existed since time immemorial and has become an instrument to justify the law, too, has been an instrument to discriminate against women. Nobody ever gives us an odds to discover our independence, as a human we have our own life first then comes then the other things into the frame. But we are always scampering and always asked to do things later in our life. When we are kids they all ask us to function in certain ways to do certain things which won't exfoliate our society's motto, we have to keep culture, family, and our gender in our sanity. Then comes the aspect of comparison where we are approximated to the other gender, a gender that is invariably privileged to do things and never speculated twice to do things. Patriarchal ideologies support the oppression of women and give as an example the joy of giving birth, which she labels a patriarchal myth. For Firestone, women must gain control over reproduction to be free from oppression as if they are reproducing all by themselves. Fun fact if we glimpse things clearly from every possible perspective we will come to know what the actual dilemma is. But nobody knows what the dilemma is. Well, it's a game of hiding and seek if we never go to seek things out and interrogate for our rights, take a stand for each other, unite each other before looking at what genitals we carry. We all can finish this game but if we never brought this to consideration we will end up hiding as we are doing till now. This would not help the country achieve a gender- equal society in the foreseeable future. ADITI SHARMA, (SY BSC ID)
