LOVE GOD FIRST By:Matt Humprey Duldulao Deuteronomy 6:5 - And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might. From beginning to end, the Bible is relentlessly clear about one thing: God comes first. That's good because without God there wouldn't be anything. Not you or your neighbor. No trees or cute puppies. Without God you can't have the good life. It's necessary to love God and be loyal to him above anyone or anything else. Genesis 22: 1-3 - And it came to pass after these things, that God did tempt Abra- ham, and said unto him, Abraham: and he said, Behold, here I am. And he said, Take now thy son, thine only son Isaac, whom thou lovest, and get thee into the land of Moriah; and offer him there for a burnt offering upon one of the mountains which I will tell thee of. And Abraham rose up early in the morning, and saddled his ass, and took two of his young men with him, and Isaac his son, and clave the wood for the burnt of- fering, and rose up, and went unto the place of which God had told him. Just like Abraham, He waited his whole life to have a child. So when God told him to take his long awaited son that he loved so much and sacrifice him as a burnt offering, Abraham must have been both astounded and sad. But God was testing Abraham. God had big plans for him, but he wanted to make sure that Abraham loved him more than anything, Jesus says in the new testament that there is no greater commandment than to love God with all you heart, sould, mind, and strength. God wants us to love other people, but he knows that you cannot love others fully unless you love God first and love him the most. Abraham sacrifice his son as a burnt offering and obeyed God even tho he had waited so long for a son.

AVOIDING DISTRACTIONS By: Matt Humprey Duldulao 1 Corinthians 7:35 - And this I speak for your own profit; not that I may cast a snare upon you, but for that which is comely, and that ye may attend upon the Lord without distraction. Distraction is something that takes our mind away from something. It prevents us from our full attention to things that matter alot. And every minute we get distracted from studying the word of God because of the devils ways of distracting us. The devil doesn’t want us to focus on God at all, so he will try to get us to think about pretty much anything else. The devil knows what distracts us and he will use them to do anything to keep us away from the word of God. Using our gadgets is a way of distraction. Think about what you can do to remind you of God every day. Maybe you can carry some- thing special in your pocket or in your bag. Whatever it is, use it to remind you constantly of our relationship with God and how he wants us to live. That will help us avoid getting dis- tracted. Taking our eyes off Jesus gives Satan the opportunity to distract us and leave us feeling hope- less. One way to stay focused on Jesus is to constantly remind ourselves of His past miracles and of the ways He has brought us through storms in the past. Jesus always has His eyes on us. By praying to God and giving time to his word will help us stop getting distracted so we have more time to learn the word of God and reaching to other people and letting them know the word of God so they will be saved.

God Test Abraham Genesis 22 1 And it came to pass after these things, that God did tempt Abraham, and said unto him, Abraham: and he said, Behold, here I am. 2 And he said, Take now thy son, thine only son Isaac, whom thou lovest, and get thee into the land of Moriah; and offer him there for a burnt offering upon one of the mountains which I will tell thee of. Is there an example for me to follow? God tempted abraham to sacrifice his son, his only son as an offering he never withheld his son, his only son, because he truly feared god 12 And he said, Lay not thine hand upon the lad, neither do thou any thing unto him: for now I know that thou fearest God, seeing thou hast not withheld thy son, thine only son from me. he trusted god, god blessed him with children as much as the stars. 17 That in blessing I will bless thee, and in multiplying I will multiply thy seed as the stars of the heaven, so the example that i can follow is that i should always trust god
