However, it seems the indirect impact is more significant if other elements like oil are considered. Russia is the 2nd biggest producer of natural gas and 3rd biggest producer of oil in the world. Although the Philippines doesn’t buy oil directly from Russia, according to the Department of Energy (DOE), the country’s sources of finished oil products like China, South Korea, and Japan get their oil from the country. Furthermore, the increase in global oil prices will likely bloat import bill of the Philippines further and contribute to Peso depreciation. Aside from oil, there is also a significant impact on global food supply chain since Russia and Ukraine are major food commodity exporters. The two countries account for 30% of global wheat exports, 15% of global corn exports, and more than half of sunflower oil production. Sales and Marketing for the Win! Starting The Year Right: Our Competitive Edge 11 SALES and Marketing FOR THE WIN Happy 10 Years Solane! Mwah Mwah Tsup Tsup On January 27, 2012, the acquisition from Pilipinas Shell Petroleum Corporation (PSPC) of all issued and outstanding shares of Isla Petroleum & Gas Corporation (IPG), a joint venture between Citadel and the Itochu group, was completed, which then paved the way for us to officially supply, market, trade, and distribute an essential commodity we call LPG or liquified petroleum gas, sold under the banner brand SOLANE which was formerly known as Shellane. The rest is then history, as they say. This crucial milestone is the reason why last January 27, we all celebrated IPG’s 10th year anniversary. We had a virtual gathering and had loads of fun through exciting games, freebies, prizes, and raffle items. But now, we tried something even more fun. We went around and solicited messages from some of our colleagues. But there’s a catch! They had to personify Solane and speak to Solane as if she’s a real person. Let’s take a look at what our colleagues had to say! Sales and Marketing for the Win! The Official Internal E-Newsletter of Isla LPG

Sales and Marketing for the Win! Starting The Year Right: Our Competitive Edge 17 Women’s Month and Beyond At Solane, the celebration of women goes beyond March. “We honor the achievements and contributions of women and how they have evolved from a home maker to a strong willed, independent, reliable, successful, and empowered citizen of the world. Women can do more than what a man can imagine,” says Nancie. Gigi also shares the importance of making space and creating opportunities for all women to rise and reshape the norms that hold them back, “We celebrate the amazing contributions women make all around the world, but it is also a call to do more.” “There is no limit to what we, as women, can accomplish,” adds Vicky. For Nancie, Vicky, Valeri, Elma, and Gigi, keeping Filipino kitchens, homes, and communities safe goes beyond their work. As empowered women themselves, ensuring safety and quality for every Filipino household is also part of their personal endeavor all year-round. Valeri Villano Solane LPG is Now Leader in Social Media In January this year, Solane LPG achieved an important victory on social media as its official Facebook page now: 1. HAS THE HIGHEST NUMBER OF PAGE LIKES AND FOLLOWERS AMONG LOCAL LPG BRANDS IN THE PHILIPPINES 2. HAS THE HIGHEST ENGAGEMENT RATE ON FACEBOOK AMONG LOCAL LPG BRANDS IN THE PHILIPPINES These are very good indicators because for one, engagement rate is the most common and appropriate measure of the success and effectiveness of social media posts and contents. These metrics are reflective of the people’s interest in the brand. These wins can also be attributed to the quality of contents that Solane LPG produces and we must all take part in keeping or even exceeding the status quo by being Solane brand ambassadors ourselves. We can do this by regularly sharing our social media posts and spreading the word about the wonders of Solane LPG! Congratulations to all of us! Sales and Marketing for the Win!
