4 - Passlack, dias, buitink, yuri 1 - carrasco Dortmund buck the trend in style to claim supercup Borussia Dortmund have claimed the curtain raiser against. Bayern Munich to lift the DFB Supercup. Half-Back will be hoping to take this into the league and make a claim to dethrone the champions. Following a poor head-to-head record against Bayern and the other big teams in the previous year Half-Back was entering the new season with what appeared to be a new approach. With injuries and international duty taking players away from the squad they lined up with a 4-2-1-2-1 (DM Wide) formation. This proved to be a huge success for Dortmund running out 4-1 winners against Bayern Munich. They edged possession having 51% of the ball and equal in shots on goal. The game got off to a great start for Half-Back’s men when Felix Passlack and Gil Dias scored in the 16th and 18th minute. Was this a sign off things to come for Dortmunds men? The score remained the same into the second half but the pressure grew. Munich scored a lovely free kick in the 65th minute through Yannick Carrasco. The pressure continued until substitute, new signing and won- derkid, Thomas Buitink scored on his debut just 10 minutes later. Yuri wrapped up the scoring in added time with his first goal for the club. After the match Half-Back had this to say. “It’s good to finally win my first trophy as a manager! And what’s even better is our new system paid dividends against a big team when this is normally our downfall!Page 2

Pre-season review Goals Scored? 25 Goals conceded? 8Pre-Season review:Pre-season was a successful one for Half-Back with a series of new forma-tions being trialed out. A disappointing result was the Paris Saint-Germaingame. A 5-0 away loss reeked of last years defensive woes against big teams. There was a chance of redemption against Juventus, and the new outlook sawthem keep a clean sheet and arguably miss many guilt edged opportunities towin the game. If Half-Back’s men could carry this onto the season they will befighting it out at the top of the table come the end of the season.Transfer Round-upFollowing the disappointment of finishing runners up to Bayern Munich bysome margin last year Half-Back has gone away and reshuffled the forma-tion and pack. A couple of average squad players have departed for youngerplayers with more ability than those outgoing. Buitink is joining as a regardedwonderkid whilst Montes comes with a wealth of international experience andNeves joins with a lot of potential to be world-class. Page 5
