The Half-BackDelivery Issue 7 - 30/8/17Your Football Manager Fix 14th June 2020Dortmund runners up as bayern clinch another title Borussia dortmund An end of season review and a put up a fight but look at the dortmund team init weren’t enough as bayern munich clinch depth. another title.

Dortmund Runners up, Bayern Champions again. Familiar? In a season which looked like we might have a change in the trend of champions, it weren’t to be as Bayern stood proud at the top of the Bundesli- ga yet again after the final game. Dortmund had left themselves too much to do in the second half of the season and with the poor start follow- ing the winter break, Bayern created their lead and they held it with an impressive second half of the season. Bayen went unbeaten following the winter break, racking up 13 wins in their 17 games. Dortmund couldn’t match this form, with them being 10 points adrift of title rivals in the second half of the season, this proves to be critical with them finishing 13 points behind the champi- ons. Dortmund were the entertainers of the league accumulating 72 goals in the campaign and conceding 39. This ensured the consistant 78,000 that filled out the Signal Igunda Park were entertained throughout the year. Fans of RB Leipzig will be undoubted- ly disappointed that they have missed out on European football and will defi- nitely want to rectify that necxt year. Following their poor start to the sea- son last years champions Leverkusen improved to secure a Europa League place.Page 2

mund Breakdown Goals Scored? 72 - 42 Home - 30 Away Goals conceded? 39 - 13 Home - 26 Away Set-Piece goals? 15 - 4 Corners - 5 DFK - 6 IFK Set-Piece CONCEDED? 6 - 4 Corners - 1 DFK - 1 IFK Season review: The stats tell quite a tale of Dortmund’s season. We agree stats can be interpreted in different ways, but the ones above are pretty black and white. It is clear to see our away performances tend to be less effective with a goal difference of just +4 where as the home goal difference is +29. Scoring goals from set-pieces was critical for Dortmund, scoring 15 goals! Defending set-pieces, specifically corners is something that will need to be addressed in the future. Overall a positive year, but away form must be improved. Page 5
