mid-season reviewFollowing on from the last issue where we left you with theBluebirds sat in sixth after a good run of results, the next setof fixtures saw a lot of inconsistency creep into the squad with them unable to put a good run of form together. The best spell for the bluebirds saw them string together 3consecutive league wins. Unfortunately, for them this was fol-lowed by 1 win and 4 losses in the next 5 games. This incon-sistency has seen Barrow slip down the table to 10th, and 4points away from the playoff places they aspire to reach asset out at the start of the season. Notably over this period ofgames, of the 26 dropped points in the league, 17 of thosehave come away from home and is something Half-Back willneed to address if they want to continue with their playoff hunt.Goals haven’t been an issue for Barrow with plenty of goalsbeing scored home and away, and a fairly decent rear-guardaction has also been displayed. The issue yet again hasbeen consistency of these goals, with Barrow firing 5 blanksin 18 games. In regards to defence, they have only managedto keep 3 clean sheets in 18 league games. Something that needs addressing. At the end of the day though there are still 13 games to go inthe league, and being just 4 points adrift of the play off places there is still plenty to play for, for the Bluebirds. dynamics, tactics and injuries - fun stuffAn inconsistent season so far has led to inconsistency in thedressing room. With dynamics changing on a weekly basisand the atmosphere being volatile it has been a real “Jekyll& Hyde” kind of squad with the mood changing frequently.Half-Back has had many squad disputes on his hands withmany players questioning the new signings of Aaron Kuhland Dominic Vose this led to a few players being put out. This appears to have settled now and the dressing room at-mosphere appears to be on the rise alongside the supportfor manager and team cohesion. It seems Half-Back is doinga lot of team cohesion and teamwork drills on the training ground which appears to be paying off. With the inconsistency of the form Half-Back has toyedaround with the formations, of which has come to the dis-pleasure of the board. Recently Barrow have settled on anAsymmetric 4-1-4-1 formation which appears to be gettingthe best of Dominic Vose and Aaron Kuhl, players with loftyambitions of leading the club to the next level. The formationis very fluid and depending on the opponent and how thegame is going can be flipped to either expose weak points or bolster our weak points. Finally with a full medical team in place and careful squadmanagement barrow have managed to drastically reducetheir injuries with a 21% reduction on the expected injuryPage 4 frequency.
