Just because it has not happened as you wish do not blame me If you do not get what you seek don't resolve against me Believe me, in true spirit Don't be disheartened by the problems you face now and thenThe samething that seems to be a problem now may turn out to be a step in the path of spirituality to reach me. Though you are happy or unhappy welcome me in the shape in which I manifest myself to you Then, your problems are no more!SAI SWARANJALI 109

I am waiting for a sincere devotee It must be you only Through the love you offer the service you render the deeds you perform the actions you undertake spread my name far and near I am waiting for a sincere devotee to spread my divine message. Leave not the guru's hand Depend on him for ever keep on reciting his name calling him aloud. When you swerve from the way Seek the guidence of the guru walk in his foot steps follow his orders tread in the way he shows As the guru has already trodden in the same way Thorns or other hindrances will not obstruct youHe teaches you the tactics to avoid them Touch his heart with devotion Love him in true spirit Make him your slave He is the fit vehicle to reach God, the driving force.SAI SWARANJALI 111

Proceed towards God Change yourself into God I revolve round those who think of me sincerely who always recite my name who call me with love. I am always ready to encourage you in that direction and bless you with much more devotion. Reach the target supreme Reform yourself as Supreme-Being.112 SAI SWARANJALI

Your vain thoughts are like venomous snakes They always dance, with open hoods They should however be controlled Here is the way To enchant them, sing my fameLet them dance to the sound of my name The power of my name that dances on your lips prevents the shade of the hood of the snake from falling upon you. Stop not the song If stopped, you receive the snake-bite.SAI SWARANJALI 113

Be reticent Speak soft Keep away from the wicked Do good always never discard the smile even in pain Think of me always Recite my name forever Learn to forgive easily grow faith in me, more and more follow my foot steps Love me with a complete heart Be with those who love me The association you choose decides your future.114 SAI SWARANJALI

Don't run hither and thither Never yield to senses crave not for desires that glow Then can burn you to ashesenjoy the coolness of my name and shape Wear the garland of my names.SAI SWARANJALI 115

The temple is in your very heart keep it clean for ever otherwise no use though you visit many a temple unless your heart is pure You can not impress God despite your many tasks If you have real devotion for me All the ways are clear to you No mental unrest No worries Let your eyes see me always Let my name for ever, dance on your tongue.116 SAI SWARANJALI

Let me tell the real qualities of my devotee I am here to tell those virtues to others The eyes of my devotee are full of light, letting out splendour They shower the rain of grace and love They show the stillness of truthTheir glance is always fixed at the target In their smile, my existence dances The place where he dwells, with absolute faith in me is full of divinity My teachings are heard where woes dwell The hands of my devotees arealways involved into the service of others His heart itself is a temple That is why I want to live there itself Its beat is regular In every beat my name is heard It speaks my own language.SAI SWARANJALI 117

If you want to be my devotee know me first search for me around keep my shape, which you like, before me Look into why the particular shape attracts you so much Learn what it teaches, as a first step. study the teachings Spend more time withme After a while it turns out to be a habit Gradually your mind is softened It attains peace These are the things to be followed by my desciples.118 SAI SWARANJALI

Let your eyes see my shape Let your tongue recite my nameLet your ears listen to my teachings Let your lips bear my texture Let your hands involve in service of me and of others Let your heart be my abode Let me exist in your survival If you can be like this for a while You will be my real devotee Then you will seek me only I will accept the love, the most valuable devotion from you. See the full moon driving away the darkness with his moon light The guru too, on the same lines Removes the darkness of ignornance from the lives of his devotees As soon as you seek the guru He enters into your lives He tries to make you shine removing the darkness of ignorance He takes your hands into his and strengthens your faith 'in The Paramatma' The guru carries your burdens Be with you, walks along you day and night plants the sapling of faith in you Makes you pure-hearted waits in anxiety, for your call.120 SAI SWARANJALI

If the name of 'Sai' is recited and repeatedThe sins of listening to evil are destroyedThose who believe my words are fulfilled. Let not your mind be volatile be firm and faithful Simply reading my leelas is not enough Grasping their moral and practising is important.SAI SWARANJALI 123

Leave your ego and keep it on my feet I help such people If there is no least trace of ego in your mind I dwell in your hearts for ever.124 SAI SWARANJALI

Those who grasp the sanctity of my name are happy I relieve those, from the bonds of birth and death, Who remember, meditate and worship me I will be the house-mate of those who read my leelas with attention This is the way to joy and satisfaction.126 SAI SWARANJALI

You see my posture I laid one leg on the other The fingers of the left hand are on the right foot The middle finger and forefinger are on the thumb of the right leg Ego should be discarded to see my majesty concentrate on the thumb between the forefinger and the middle fingerThen only you can see my splendour.SAI SWARANJALI 127

The recitation of the name, 'sai' is the easy way to unknot the problems of life, in the bond of birth and death Reciting God's name is the most supreme, the easiest means Recite the name of 'Sai' till your body is decayed till your last breath.128 SAI SWARANJALI

Though human birth is very valuable It is not at all permanent Death is inevitable So. fulfill your life within your life-span Make use of your life with a fine style of living with good behaviour with relentless worship of God.SAI SWARANJALI 129

I have easy means to get self-realisation Those who want to know, 'who I am'? Listen to and recollect my 'Leelas' If not possible, recite the name of God Read the 'Adhyatma Ramayana', 'The Jnaneswari' Listen to my leelas Worship my feet perform the Parayana of, 'The Chandogyopanishad', 'The Esovasyopanishad' and 'The Vishnu Sahasranama'.130 SAI SWARANJALI

What is the aim of life? To fulfill man's aim Let us take resort at the Sadguru who visualised God. Before doing so, Duties should be discharged properly Draw the good name of 'a good house holder' Cultivate good personality Be devoted to God Do any work with love, not for returns help others Never pull up anybody Keep away sloth, sluggishness and fatigue.132 SAI SWARANJALI

The Philosopy of Saimakes the love for one's body wither away suppresses one's ego cuts the bonds of heart exposes my shape, the embodiment of bliss, in your heart.SAI SWARANJALI 133

God has created innumerable species on earth But they could not know my power only man could find my existence with his power called 'knowledge' with the same knowledge man should grow further and sing in praise of God's Leelas and fame Then certainly God will be pleased.134 SAI SWARANJALI

The purpose of wealth is to practise piety and to lead a life of rectitude But its purpose is not to enjoy wealth is wasteif it is spent merely for comforts.SAI SWARANJALI 135

Had you offered your wealth to others in past Then only you can acquire wealth in this birth It has been given to you by God Let it be submitted to him again Then only devotion and knowledge grow within.136 SAI SWARANJALI

I demand Dakshina from my devotees only to teach them that riches are short livedKeep away form money that is temporary Remember God, the Truth, the Infinite Deliverence can be attainedWhat is more valuable in life than peace?SAI SWARANJALI 137

My shape is pleasing the symbol of purity the mine of peace My words are brief, pregnant with high meaning powerful, meaningful and balanced.138 SAI SWARANJALI

I am the amalgamation of detachment embodied and endless grace. My presence is a place of rest for my devotees My seat is your faith and devotion for my words that are supreme and piousThe real prologue to my worship is your sincere practice of what I say in true spirit.SAI SWARANJALI 139

I never discriminate between good and evil I never estimate people as good or bad The good and the wicked, all are my people destroying the karmas of all is my aim But My strategy is unique God's duty is Saving the good Punishing the wicked But the greatness of my incarntion is Instead of punishing the wickedTransforming them into good people by training.140 SAI SWARANJALI

The statue of God The Altar of Sacrifice The holy fire The light The sun The water The 'Brahman' (God)All are venerable, to be worshipped The sadguru is far more sublimer than all these.SAI SWARANJALI 141

One who is not devoid of \"expecting return\" whom the 'craving for fruits' never discards who is not detached to it one's knowledge is vain Though one is a great scholar Similarly Self-realisation can not be attained by mere intellect by studying the vedas by reading books. Those whom the soul likes get it Soul manifests itself to only such people.142 SAI SWARANJALI

Unless mind is pious Any spiritual endeavour is vainThe people of ego and uncontrolled sensesturn a deaf year to the teachings of the guru It is useless to teach them even. Man should consume what he can digest.SAI SWARANJALI 143

I can give anyone anything But I see first Whether the receiver deserves it or not. If you listen to what I say attentively You will benefit certainly I never tell lies, sitting in the masjid I reveal from my inmost heart Those who listen to it are saved.144 SAI SWARANJALI

If you extend your hands with devotion I will be with you day and night Though my body is here I know what you are doing Go wherever you like I will be with you Moreover Your heart is my abode I am within you Worship me dwelling in your and others' hearts Those who feel me like this are blessed, pious and fortunate.SAI SWARANJALI 145

Offering anything is not doing any favour to others Infact, by giving an opportunity to offer and receiving the offer, others help us to attain 'Punya' Let us thank them for doing so.146 SAI SWARANJALI

My duty always is to enquirewhether my devotees are safe and secure My work is to get them out of their problems My aim is to fulfill their wishes and soften their minds If man's desires are fulfilled he will attain peace Spirituality arises out of this That is the first step of man towards self-realisation.SAI SWARANJALI 147

All the Vices of lust, anger, greed, Vanity, Pride, Envy, etc. arise out of the feeling of 'Mine' No one owns nothing in this creation All should share everthing as per one's time and turn What we now enjoy has already been enjoyed by some in past what we think of to be ours was of someone before.148 SAI SWARANJALI

The fine natural elementsbreath life into the existence of living things The trees never enjoy their own fruits The wind never blows for itself The water, The sky, The fire All the powers of nature dedicate themselves to the welfare of all. Man should learn much from them I took this birth to teach it.SAI SWARANJALI 149

There is no other species on earth as selfish as man He thinks of everything to be his own weaves his life around it lives in the illusion that it is real assimilates wealth with sheer selfishness The name of 'Sai' only can remove this feeling.150 SAI SWARANJALI

The main hindrances for the spiritual life of man are two. one is money the other is woman I test the devotees who visit Shirdi how interested they are in the two I demand dakshina to test the one I send them to Badi (The house of Radha Krishna Mai) to test the other. As soon as they get through the two testsProving themselves to be away from Money and woman they are relieved, by my blessing.SAI SWARANJALI 151

Let our life be ripened with love, with devotion, with service, with knowledge, with sacrifice, with zeal Then only self-realisation can be attained. Then only soul can be visualised in everything.152 SAI SWARANJALI

One who can see oneself (the soul) in everythingis never subjected to the worries of joy, grief, vanity and craze joys and sorrows are the feelings of mind when you can treat all things with equal spirit you can live beyond your pain and misery.SAI SWARANJALI 153

Let us use the energy given by God to learn to work with zeal Let us be sincere in our worship of god Mere Mechanical ritual is of no use Zeal leads us to the heights of spirituality in wordly things as well as in spiritual things The work done with zeal provides us peace and power154 SAI SWARANJALI
