REALIZATION OF STRATEGIC OBJECTIVES 1. STRENGTHENING OF CLUBS AND MEMBERSHIP Membership On July 1, 2018, our District had 1,231 members, and on April 15, 2019, 1,243 members, which represents a slight increase of 12 members. 26 clubs had an increase in membership (+74), 23 clubs had a reduction in membership (-62) and 17 clubs maintained the same number of members. New Rotary Clubs Four meetings of the Belgrade International Club in re-launch have already been held at the Novak restaurant. The Founding Assembly is scheduled for April 23, 2019. Initiative Groups for the establishment of Rotary Clubs in Vršac and Inđija have begun their meetings. New Rotaract Club In Bor, on April 5, 2019, a new Bor Rotaract Club with 17 members was chartered, which has already successfully implemented several actions in its city. New Interact Club On March 27, 2019, a ceremony was held in Leskovac on the occasion of the chartering of the new Leskovac Interact Club, which has 17 members. Badges were given by District Governor Vladimir Matić, DIR Strahinja Radovanović and members of Leskovac RC.
REALIZATION OF STRATEGIC OBJECTIVES 2. FUNDRAISING FOR THE ROTARY FOUNDATION From the above table it can be seen that on April 13, 2019, we surpassed many of the previous results in many positions that are monitored by the Rotary Foundation. This relates primarily to the total contributions for the Rotary Foundation, which amount to a record $ 83,807, which grants us the right to hope that at the end of our Rotary Year, we will have contributed more than $100,000 to the Rotary Foundation. Also, we have surpassed the total number of PHF awards, since we have 147 so far and by the end of the Rotary Year it is realistic to expect that there will be more than 160 PHF awards. While we can be satisfied with the status of current payments to the Annual Fund to the amount of 37,622$ we cannot be happy with the number of clubs (only 25) which made payments to this fund. Also, payments to the Polio Plus Fund should be increased, since, so far, only 22 clubs have paid $ 2,901. PETS / SETS seminar report Kopaonik April 12-14, 2019 Last weekend at the “Grand” hotel in Kopaonik, PETS and SETS were held for the incoming Presidents and Secretaries of Rotary Clubs in Serbia and Montenegro. I am pleased to note that there were 57 clubs with 103 Rotarians. In the snowy ambience on the \"roof of Serbia\", 20 presenters, including DG Vladimir Matić, PDG Velimir Stefanović and Bane Randjelović, as well as incoming Governors, Danilo Ljevnaić and Zorica Jestrović, presented much useful information to future club leaders in our District. District trainer Momir Jovanović organised the seminar program, as well as the topics covered on that occasion. Seminars were abundant in workshops, especially for future secretaries where they were shown in practical terms all the responsibilities that they will assume from next year. All presenters offered their wholehearted support to future leaders and were very happy to answer a wide range of questions. Božena Jelušić, a district trainer for Montenegro, conducted a survey among future club presidents where it was concluded that over 75% of clubs face the same problems. But this time I would like to point out the positive aspects that prevailed in the survey: \"By joining the Rotary family, in addition to gaining new acquaintances and a richer social life, it was emphasised that they have gained a new purpose in life and that they apply the Test Questions on a daily basis and that, in the 1990s, during the wars and crisis, thanks to Rotary, they felt like citizens of the world \". In addition to the working segment, we also had the opportunity to socialise, meet each other and exchange business cards and ideas. For the first time, we had the opportunity to publicly present ourselves and present our professions and our jobs in accordance with RI's recommendations for business in Rotary. WE SHOWED THAT ROTARY CONNECTS THE WORLD! Exclusive from Kopaonik Yours in Rotary Ljiljana Lainovic DGE

Supporting the development of music talents is in the focus of RC \"Belgrade- Global\" activities for this year, since, as the club's name itself says “Global”, there are no boundaries, differences and language barriers in music. \"The strength of the future lies in our young, talented and hardworking people, therefore for the members of our Club, it is of paramount importance that students can study and improve in the same way as their peers abroad. Our country is a veritable nursery of musical talents that spread positive energy through their skills, promote peace, and it is up to us to offer them our wholehearted support \"- said the club's president during the signing of a donation contract. The \"Baby Coffee\" initiative is an idea born to help the maternity ward of \"Djordje Jovanović\" general hospital in Zrenjanin. The fund-raising format was envisaged to include the entire local community with the goal of directly donating funds and raising awareness about the problems that the maternity department faces along with familiarising the public with the work of \"Zrenjanin\" Rotaract Club and the entire Rotary movement. The restauranteurs in Zrenjanin were contacted, with the suggestion that during a certain period of the day, the revenue of the coffee sales be directed to this initiative. It was supported by around 45 caterers, and since the public response was very positive, there were about 15 sponsors who helped with their donations. During the initiative, about 450,000 dinars were collected.
After exceptional cooperation and excellent Rotarian relations, \"Bijeljina\" RC and \"Stari grad\" RC were twinned and thus set the highest standard in their relations. In true Rotarian spirit with a great deal of positive energy and the presence of 19 members from both clubs, the Presidents officially signed the Twinning Charter. This laid the foundation for even greater and more fruitful cooperation between the clubs, which has already begun with mutual support in projects - \"Bijeljina\", the installation of a Rotary fountain, and \"Stari grad\" – the procurement of equipment for the Institute for Mother and Child. \"Kruševac\" Rotary Club's twinned Rotary club \"Maribor-Lent\" from Slovenia, from April 11 -14, 2019, marked a ten-year period of existence and successful work with a series of events. On this occasion their guests were Rotarians from Kruševac, as well as Rotarians from Bad Orbe (Germany). The hosts truly worked to make this a memorable gathering. Thus, for their guests from Serbia and Germany, they organised a tour of Maribor, a visit to Ljubljana, an excursion to Pohorje, culminating in a gala dinner at the City Hotel in Maribor. Already and according to established tradition, the three clubs will continue their gatherings next year, this time hosted by Rotary Club Kruševac. THE ABC’s OF ROTARY by Cliff Dochterman The Rotary Foundation's Beginning Some magnificent projects grow from very small seeds. The Rotary Foundation had that sort of modest beginning. In 1917 RI President Arch Klumph told the delegates to the Atlanta Convention that \"it seems eminently proper that we should accept endowments for the purpose of doing good in the world.\" The response was polite and favorable, but the fund was slow to materialize. A year later the \"Rotary Endowment Fund,\" as it was first labeled, received its first contribution of US$26.50 from the Rotary Club of Kansas City, Missouri, USA, which was the balance of the Kansas City Convention account following the 1918 annual meeting. Additional small amounts were annually contributed, but after six years it is reported that the endowment fund had only reached US$700. A decade later, The Rotary Foundation was formally established at the 1928 Minneapolis Convention. In the next four years the Foundation fund grew to US$50,000. In 1937 a US$2 million goal was announced for The Rotary Foundation, but these plans were cut short and abandoned with the outbreak of World War II. In 1947, upon the death of Paul Harris, a new era opened for The Rotary Foundation as memorial gifts poured in to honor the founder of Rotary. From that time, The Rotary Foundation has been achieving its noble objective of furthering \"understanding and friendly relations between peoples of different nations.\" By 1954 the Foundation received for the first time a half million dollars in contributions in a single year, and in 1965 a million dollars was received. It is staggering to imagine that from those humble beginnings, The Rotary Foundation is now receiving more than US$65 million each year for educational and humanitarian work around the world.
