You also know the reason for it – the time from the second half of May to the first days of June was too strenuous. After the work for the issuance of the Almanac of the clubs and our annual conference in Pleven chartering of Interact Club Varna Galatea followed up, after that a tenth anniversary of Rotary Club Sozopol, after that a lot of last commitments related to the preparation of the Bulgarian stand at the Congress of Rotary International in Seoul and finally the days of the Congress themselves. The finale of this Rotary year turned out to be especially dynamic but today I share with pleasure my satisfaction with these days full of work and enriching friendly communication. The subject-matter in the calendar of Rotary for the month of June is namely Rotary friendship. Friendship is the most significant amongst our values. It is delicate and suffers each time when we do not succeed in outdoing our ego and vanity. It is what brings us together and makes us a unique community. Each our meeting and event should give meaning to this word, add warmth and confidence in our days, inspire us for achievements. Each time when we say “My Friend”, we should be able to look at the man next to us in the eyes, smile at him and open our hearts. We should keep this address from devaluation which, as some of remember, happened to another good word – “Comrade”. May we avoid it? Let us with each our meeting, event, project prove ourselves as people ready to learn from each other. Let us accept the disputes and the differences as a way for development and when they arise, solve them in a manner which will allow us to continue to walk forward with friendship, with sharing, with service to the benefit of the community and the people close to us. This is a chance for ourselves to grow up, to realize the best of ourselves, to be a gift for the world. We are not extraterrestrials, we are not ideal, we are a part of the society in our country with all its characteristics. Life philosophy „Сам юнак на коня” (A hero on horseback by himself) has a long- standing Bulgarian tradition. Rotary teaches us to replace it with the strength of our community to build up contacts, to unite leaders, to change human lives, to create environment for growth up and development. We henceforward have to become aware of our potential both of a national network which gets business people, professionals, leaders of the community together, and of a part of a global friendly network. What I tried to achieve this year together with all of you, my friends, is exactly to build up and strengthen our Rotary friendship, to realize ourselves as a community; to get to know our organization better, with its essence and strength to get us in touch with people like ourselves and that we should together do good and feel good. To my pleasant surprise the maintenance of the monthly Bulletin of the Governor proved itself to be in its brief existence as approved by you means for acquaintance, finding friends and feeling for a community. The heading of June Bulletin: „Wow, the sea! “ is quite natural for it. In it District Assistant Governor Lyubomir Gospodinov and District Assistant Governor Rosen Kostov present their zones. Rotary Club Varna Galatea made a strong request for its maturity and responsibility with the chartering of Interact Club, and Rotary Club Sozopol marked its first ten years in service to the community by a wonderful holiday. As up to now, you will find presentation of each of the clubs and together with it, presentation of selected by the club Rotary members – in the first or in the third person, at their choice and without editing. District Assistant Governor Rosen with delicate sense of an esthete and of a connoisseur proposed that its clubs accepted to present solely ladies friends Rotary members. Rotary year 2015-16 comes to its end. As an organization we are already sufficiently mature to overleap the thinking with a limit of one year and to know that the two words, key to success, are succession and development. My team and I did our best to continue what was achieved in the last few years in the development of the membership and the support for the clubs, in our attitude and capability for valuable and sustainable projects, in the development of proactive partnerships at a local and national level, in events and programmes which function for our positive public image and the knowledge of Rotary. I am to prepare and present my report before all of you. Here and now I will express solely my satisfaction and deep gratitude for everything we shared this year. For me it was time of tension and sometimes over-fatigue, it was marked by several dozens of thousand kilometers passed on the roads of Bulgaria. What I appreciate it for and for what I will remember each its day is that it was full of meetings which left in me the good feeling for live clubs, a factor in the life of its communities, for an organization which is growing up. I also felt personally enriched with new acquaintances and friendships with thinking, interesting, successful people and I became fully aware that exactly Rotary provides me with a chance to meet them, to communicate with them and to learn from each of you. Now when the wheel will turn again once more and the team of District Governor Elect Mitko will undertake its responsibilities and will accept new challenges, I confirm with pleasure on my behalf and on behalf of the friends whom we worked together with, our readiness to be together with all the Rotary members a part of each constructive effort, of each good deed realized with friendly interaction, by which we will serve to our community and will create new friends.
