What an honor it is to serve as principal here at school; start time is 7:50 Dawson Elementary. Thank you all for welcoming me 8/31 - Pastries with with open arms, and coming out to our Meet the the principal. 8:30 - 9:00 AM Principal Event. Teachers and staff have been busy preparing for the return of our students, and we can’t wait to be back together again. Educators Today Teachers and staff return to work eager and ready to jumpstart a new year! SettingAugust 2021 the Page 2 Stage for Volunteers: success! At this time only visitors with official school business are allowed in classrooms, including district personnel, student teachers etc… Red carpet roll out for our all *Parents are able to volunteer and support in STAR cast! various areas throughout the campus as needed. *All visitors are required to show their ID/Driver’s License and sign in to the RAPTOR system in the front office. *Volunteer Background Applications are required each school year. *After school, remember to wait outside to eliminate congestion in our hallways as our students exit through the front/side doors. Please review the latest version of our CCISD reopening plan for COVID procedure updates. Stay up to date with school happenings by turning on your Canvas notifications and visiting our school website at www.dawson.ccisd.us ATTENDANCE MATTERS SLIDESMANIA.COM Show up to school, to show us your MOVES! This year we will be starting an atten-DANCE celebration free to all students with NO ABSENCES AND NO TARDIES for each 6 weeks. If absences are excused, you still have not attended 100%, so make sure you qualify by being here EVERY Day and ON TIME. These celebrations will include snacks, drinks, music, and of course your favorite TIK TOK choreography on display!

August PAGE THREE A SAFE RETURN2021 SLIDESMANIA.COM “Where STARS earn their stripes” Joseph T. Dawson TRAFFIC PROCEDURES TO HELP KEEP OUR STUDENTS SAFE!!! Please make sure anyone who drives your child to or from school is aware of procedures. All PK, Kindergarten, 1st, & 2nd grade students will utilize the front entry horseshoe with a RED colored placard. 3rd, 4th, & 5th will utilize the side horseshoe with a BLUE colored placard. When applicable, older sibling will always go to younger siblings horseshoe. ● If walking or walking up, always cross all streets with the crossing guard or at crosswalks. Do not let your students walk between cars in the parking lot. ● Students should always get in/out of the car on the curb-side, for their safety. ● Please utilize your child’s placard in your car at dismissal to expedite our procedures. ● Please stay in your car at all times in horseshoes. Our staff and safety patrol team will assist you & your child. ● Always drive up to the beginning of the horseshoe regardless of your child's grade level. To expedite a safe, and prompt drop off, never leave gaps between vehicles. ● Students may not exit from the car in the middle of the street! Mission Statement At Joseph T.
