CONTRIBUTIONS TO VIETNAM 1. Supporting to solve national-level problems Supporting to solve the environmental problems of Formosa Group in Ha Tinh, Vietnam in 2016: negotiating the settlement of the disputes, which led to Formosa’s 500 million USD compensation paid to the people in the afftected areas. 2. Promoting foreign investment in socio-economic development Organizing many free investment seminars to attract foreign investors to Vietnam: - Helping to bring dozens of billions of US dollars of FDI to Vietnam - Contributing to Japan’s leading FDI position in Vietnam 8

Education • Having invested hundreds of billions of VND in Vietnam Television Education Channel (VTV7) • Supporting the transfer of educational technologies and educational television pro- grams to Vietnam since 2015 • Bringing international school violence prevention programs to Vietnam, organizing free nation-wide training programs for students and teachers since March 2019 • Helping thousands of poor students to study and/or work abroad; • Supporting nearly 1,000 students to participate in international exchange programs for free • Supporting localities to train thousands of English teachers in Vietnam and abroad • Designing, developing and deploying smart education applications for all. 4. Healthcare • Supporting the transfer of multiple high technologies to Vietnam, especially those in the medical sector • Sponsoring and inviting renowned foreign doctors and surgeons to Vietnam to train medical experts and conduct medical examination and treatment for many poor peo- ple in Vietnam • Helping to send many Vietnamese abroad for medical examination and treatment in extremely difficult cases • Supporting many organizations, institutions, and localties to sign important medical co- operation agreements with foreign partners • Designing, developing and deploying smart healthcare applications for all. 9

Environment • Supporting the transfer of many high technologies for environmental treatment to Vietnam • Supporting many localities in environmental planning following international standards • Helping to deploy large networks of enviromental monitoring all over Vietnam • Designing, developing and deploying smart environment applications for all. 6. Agriculture • Supporting the export of seafood products for poor fishing families of the Central Vietnam region • Supporting farmers to export lychees and other agricultural produces to foreign countries in difficult market conditions. • Using AI and advanced technologies to develop agricultural supply chains to promote sustainable agricultural development for different regions of Vietnam 7. Cultural exchanges • Organizing and funding annual cherry blossoms festivals in Hanoi, Bac Ninh, Quang Ninh, Hai Phong and other provinces in Vietnam • Sponsoring the Miss Cherry Blossoms Contest in Vietnam • Promoting and funding various international cultural exchange programs such as art per- formances, cuisine events, exhibitions, etc. 10

Sending workers abroad • Helping thousands of poor workers in rural areas to go to work in foreign countries, in many cases for free • Supporting many young people from Vietnam to join technical interns programs in Japan and other countries 9. Science and Technology Helping to transfer many special high technologies to Vietnam for the following areas: • Safety and Security • Healthcare • Education • Laboratories • Computer Science 10. Information Technology and the Smart Nation program • Coming up with, and realization of many state-of-the-art concepts and models for smart cities and national digital transformation • Designing, developing, and deploying smart nation/ smart city platforms and applications all over Vietnam for the National Assembly, many localities, government agencies and ministries • Deploying free applications for all Vietnamese people (ad-free), such as the 9999 Tet smart phone app for Tet Holiday (Vietnamese New Year), or the Smart Vietnam app for citizens of provinces and cities • Developing and deploying for free the 9999 Hope app for the visually impaired and hard- of-hearing people (together with thousands of smart phones given for free to poor people in these categories). 11
